We were seated quickly, our waitress was super sweet. The energy was great. I ordered the white queso fries, a Swiss and shroom burger (veggie burger- No meat with a slice of American cheese added), with a side of fries, a tequila sunrise, and a vegetarian quesadilla to go. The queso fries were 4 stars would be 5 if some of them weren't so crunchy and if it had more cheese. The sidewinder fries were great, seasoned perfectly, I also give them 4 stars. The Tequila Sunrise gets 5 stars. It was super cheap (Happy hour), it was sweet, and didn't taste as strong as it was because I felt it hit me 5 minutes after drinking 1/5 of it. The burger is 5 stars! This was the best burger I have ever had and that includes the ones back in my meat eating days. The mushrooms were so flavorful, the Swiss and American cheese were perfect together. I can't wait for my next burger. It will most definitely be from here. (The vegetarian quesadilla was great. Food is really good--one of the best burgers I've had--and the late night experience is pretty solid. Trivia night is rather competitive and well-organized. When I attended college (class of '08), you were allowed to smoke in bars. If this is still the case, avoid at nights unless you want to smell of smoke for a few weeks. Sometimes, this place would still smell like stale cigarettes at lunch the next day. But, whatever, it's a bar. read more

I've been here twice. The first time was pretty good, nothing knocked my socks off. The queso fries were good. The second time was just... not awesome. We were ahead of the lunch rush on graduation day. I ordered a burger and fries. The service was good, but my bun was tough like it was going stale, the burger was sort of tasteless, and the lettuce was sort of brown. My fries were barely cooked, they were cold and white. Went here for our anniversary dinner, because a local told us they had a great blue burger. He said they had the best burgers in town. My husband loves blue burgers, and I wanted a steak; I looked at the menu and they had both. The vibe was awesome, The Black Keys and Beck on the speakers. Beautiful wood and iron decor, the giant moose head was a little out of place. But, most importantly the food was great. We were both really pleased. Great food, but I have one suggestion get the baked potato instead of fries. The green beans that come with the steak are fresh and tasty, except they had a lot of grated parm on them. I am not a big fan of the parm, but my husband loved them. Over all really good would definitely go back, and I would like to try the blue burger next time. read more

As in any restaurant, servers come and go...some more quickly than others...and some just have a bad night (speaking from experience), so it is unfair to judge a place based on one bad server...I have had stellar service to moderately bad service is this place, but my food has always been good! I visited this restaurant a couple weeks ago and was a little disappointed. I ordered a veggie panini , nachos with chili on the side, and queso fries. The panini had small raw veggies on it ( 1 small slice of tomato, hardly any spinach , a tsp of hummus, etc ) the nachos came with everything on the side although I only wanted chili on the side , so it was kind of awkward. The fries were pretty good. My friend had no complaints with his order. I'm sure this place has potential maybe I'll try something different on the menu another time. read more

I tried to go here for lunch with a friend. After sitting for 55 minutes and not receiving the two sandwiches we ordered we had to leave to get to an appointment. The waitress had ignored us for the previous 25 minutes, never updating or letting us know the status of our food. When we told her we were leaving she half-way apologized but did nothing to try to keep our service or offer to quickly get us something to go. After stopping in the restroom I passed her on the way out and she again ignored me. Since they don't seem to care about their customers, we won't be back! read more

I've come here often and order several different things and my complaints are always the same. The portion sizes are completely cheap and small. The burgers are way too small for what one would expect given the descriptions of the food and the price, which is too high I might add for the little amount of food you get. Not to mention the bad customer service. The waiters and waitresses are all friends, they're joking around they're taking along time to bring simple things like drink refills because they just have to TALK. Your food is back there getting cold because Pamela and Rachel (fake names) are chatting it up in the front. This place was AWFUL. I went there on a Friday, probably my first mistake. My friend and I couldn't really get service because of two reasons. 1.) We weren't drinking. 2.) We weren't men. We were one of the first tables for a saturday lunch service. My group did not wait at all when we first walked in. After sitting down and ordering, we waited over an hour for our food as water from the airconditioning vents dripped onto our table. Buffington's is my second home here in Milledgeville. I'll stop in on my walk home to see friends both sitting at the bar and working behind it. Stevie, one of my favorite bartenders, asks, "Vodka cranberry, right?" as if she doesn't already know the answer. I'll plan on staying for a drink or two because it's happy hour but I'll end up staying because the people that frequent Buff's are such good company. So I order dinner, usually a delicious bowl of Bob Marley soup or occasionally an original Buff Burger. Buffington's has good food and such a welcoming atmosphere. It's a great places for friends to hang out. I've also gone there alone several times and have made a new friend or two by the time I left. Whether it be befriending the old man who is in town on business by talking about his fascinating career or discussing the latest Netflix original with the new waitress, I always leave Buff's happier than I came. read more

The Brick and Amici's both had a wait at lunch today so we decided to go to Buffington's. The restaurant was not busy and there were only about 3 or 4 tables with people sitting at them. We placed an order for an appetizer and it came fairly quickly. We placed our order for our meals and my husband asked for his side salad first because he was quite hungry. We waited and waited and our waitress told us there was only one chef working but our food would be ready in about 10 minutes. My husband again asked for his salad. We waited and waited and the waitress came back and said there was only 1 ticket ahead of us and our food would be up in about 5 minutes...still no salad. Food was delivered to 3 other tables that came in after us and we decided that if the next food that came out wasn't ours we were leaving. Finally our food came out (with the side salad) and it was lukewarm. By this time we had been in the restaurant an hour and a half. The poor waitress came over with who we assume was the manager and the manager said she could not explain why our food was not hot. She mentioned something about a heat lamp and offered to discount the meal. My husband told her we did not want a discount but he did want the check. We will never go back to Buffington's again! read more

I think the food is VERY good for a sports bar, especially one with late night entertainment. They changed the menu a while back and I actually prefer the other menu, but there's a good variety of food. The Bob Marley Soup is very unusual (like nothing I've ever found elsewhere) and excellent. Like someone said earlier, they probably have the best fried pickles I've had anywhere. The burgers are VERY good, but I did like the ones available on the earlier menu. The beer is always cold and I find that the prices have been and are always very reasonable. My daughter and boyfriend, both students, said we should eat there, and recommended burgers. I'm sure the food is very good at times, but our night was not that time. We started with fried pickles and mushrooms. The pickles were said to be "pretty good," and the mushrooms were very good. I ordered a burger with great expectations. Our waitress disappeared for about 50 minutes at that point. The place was moderately busy. She finally asked if we were still working on the pickles, and my wife asked if the food was coming. Right after that it arrived. My burger was broken in half, like someone had looked to see if it was done. The buns were so soggy, it was obvious they had sat for some time with lettuce and tomato soaking in. It was horrible, and cold. I didn't eat it. Thankfully the fries were edible. It took another 20 minutes to get the check from another waiter. As I said, you may have a good experience with great food, but I won't go back. I've been here multiple times and each time the service keeps getting worse. If it doesn't take long for the food to come out then something is wrong with the food.
