Not even enough to fill the taco

I've been eating these chicken street tacos since they first put them on the menu. They were just tacos then they added fries to justify the price increase. Ok... now y'all just throwing them together with hardly Any chicken or sauces...I really never liked this location because they're comfortable and lazy. Note to self to not ever give them another chance!

I was happy to hear that Buffalo Wild Wings had already moved from their location in the Valley View Mall to the prior building of T.G.I. Friday's, which is just across the street from the Mall. So as soon as I found out, I made plans to go visit them in their new location and write a review so as to bring this happening to the attention of many who are not aware of this change, or are aware that it was going to happen, but are not aware that it already has taken place. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Buffalo Wild Wings in its new location on Valley View Blvd, in Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. Their new location has plenty of parking and just across the street is the Valley View Mall parking lot, near the Macy's entrance to the Mall, that could also easily be used if theirs gets full. They did an excellent renovation of the building, both in the exterior and interior, with special parking spaces for Take Out orders exclusively, right near the entrance for Take Out orders. The main entrance to the restaurant is in the left corner of the building, and has a spectacular tall entrance with their logo in giant size on both sides of the corner. Inside, they did wonders creating an Open architectural design with beautiful polished floors, and finished ceiling, to give it an air of distinction. With a combination of booths and tables with chairs throughout the restaurant and plenty of windows, you had the perfect environment in which to enjoy some quality time with family and friends dining some comfort food. The Hostess warmly greeted me and invited me to take a seat wherever I wanted and I went and sat at one of the booths next to the windows. My server, Brittany arrived shortly with a big friendly smile and took my order. To drink I ordered an Iced Sweet Tea. And as my main entrée a Triple Bacon Burger served with natural-cut French fries. The Burger was so big, tall, and juicy that while I was eating it, it fell apart. The fries were the cut I like them. As I was enjoying my meal, I admired the interior decor of the restaurant. At the end they had a large bar with windows and counters that led to the outdoor patio area, and full of large screen TVs, and a large quantity of draft beers. The manager came by to greet and welcome me and see that I was enjoying everything. For dessert I had their New Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet. Simply delicious. I highly recommend this place for a relaxed dining experience with good food and drinks, wonderful ambiance and excellent customer service.

Martin's is a bar/restaurant which features food, mainly American food, and live music. In my opinion, it is the best bar/restaurant in the downtown area. It is easily accessible by the I-581 highway, which runs in a north-south direction through the Roanoke area. There is some street parking directly outside the club, as well as some parking garages that are located in the downtown area. Inside the club, there is a large dining area as well as a small stage.

After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial review was one of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. I arrived on a Thursday evening with a 6:15pm reservation which I'm glad I had made because later I found out that this place gets to be a full house on Thursdays. A young lady host greeted and welcomed me at the Host's station as soon as I arrived. She checked my reservation and had my table all ready for me. Located in the middle of this very popular Restaurant Bar, gave me a nice view of the entire place, and with a light high above I had a perfect lighting to photograph my drink and food as part of my review of the place. My server Jillian arrived soon after I was seated. She had a wonderful personality and welcomed me with a friendly smile and very pleasant attitude. After answering me some questions about their Mocktails, I ended up ordering their Raspberry Burro. For dinner I ordered their BBQ Bacon Chicken Kababs with a side of their special fries and a salad. While I was waiting for my food to arrive I observed the place quickly filling up and I found out that tonight was Music Bingo and Live Music at 9:30pm with no cover charge. It brought me back to my college days in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the night life was a thing to look forward to. Suddenly I discovered the key of Martin's popularity and the important role it plays in contributing to making the City of Roanoke a Star City indeed. I enjoyed my drink and the Chicken Kababs with the side of special fries were amazingly delicious, as well as the salad. They have a good variety of quality items on their menu and their chefs amazingly deliver. I invite you to read my first review where I celebrate their Cuban Sandwich and Slaw, and view my photographs that accompany my review. What a night. Besides the food, I enjoyed playing the Music Bingo, which one of the card titles was The 1970's. One of the best years of my life, when I attended High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico and College in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. During that time I also won a Saltwater Fishing Tournament at the young age of 17 by catching a 405 pound Blue Marlin off the coast of Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. It was the best of times for me. My server Jillian provided exceptional customer service, checking on me at the appropriate times. For dessert I ordered their Glazed Doughnut Bread Pudding, and it was so good, I can't wait to return to have it again. What an extraordinary dining experience I had that night. I highly recommend this restaurant and bar for when you feel like having a good time, alone or with family and good friends. I promise you will be able to sabor what a Five Star review is all about, and experience for yourselves why Martin's is one of the City of Roanoke's most precious gems.

And The Hangout Sports Bar and Lounge in Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. Located on Williamson Road, in the Hollins area of Roanoke, Virginia, The Hangout is a sports bar, restaurant, and lounge, with a casual, friendly, and lively atmosphere, offering a mix of food, drinks, and entertainment like pool tables, live music, and karaoke, among others. People gather there for lunch, for dinner, or just to have a drink or two as they spend some time chatting with their friends. I arrived around three o'clock to have a late lunch and visit the place for the first time. The bar was completely full with customers drinking and having fun conversations. Other customers were enjoying themselves playing pool on one of the many pool tables. During the day, customers are welcomed to play pool for free and in the evenings for a small fee. I walked over to the bar counter and asked the friendly bartender, Mitch, if they were still serving lunch and if I could seat at one of the booths. He told me they were and to go ahead and have a seat at the booth of my choice. Soon after he came by with the menu and took my drink order. I asked if he could make me a Piña Colada Mocktail and he did. It tasted amazing. Beside the regular menu they also had an All Day Specials menu for every day of the week from Monday through Friday. To dine I ordered a BBQ Burger from the regular menu. It was served with fries. Meanwhile everytime a customer came in, you could immediately tell he was a regular by the warm greeting he received from the bartender and other customers there. When my server/bartender brought my burger, it looked wonderful. Fresh burger buns with an all beef 1/3 lb burger, topped with white American cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, and onions. I poured some ketchup on it from a squeeze bottle by server had brought me and put on my table. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of their food. My server introduced me to the owner of the place, Lori, a very warm and welcoming lady who opened this establishment in 2021and since then has made it a very popular place focusing on making it a casual environment and a fun spot where locals and visitors can socialize and have a good time. After all, its slogan, written under its front sign, states: "Good Food, Good People ... Great Times." Featuring a full bar, including draft beers, hard liquor and cocktails, quality comfort food at affordable prices, entertainment such as indoor and outdoor stages for bands to play live music, karaoke, and games like pool and cornhole, and a friendly crew to top it off, the only negative thing that I could find was tight parking, but at night customers can park on the parking lot of the business on their left and in a space across the street. I highly recommend this place for some good times and can't wait for the Spring and Summer to arrive to return with friends and enjoy all the creative things they have to offer.

Place was busy and easily seated in the bar area which is probably a little louder but it was ok with us. MY brother ordered the Meaty Meaty - he doesnt like a lot of cheese so having a lot of toppings means less cheese. We ordered the Hot Italian. Pizzas came out in relative short order and I immediately noticed our pizza was wrong. I pointed out that we didnt have hot red peppers and basil but instead we had green peppers. I dont eat green peppers as they dont sit well with me. I mentioned to my husband and he also noted as did my brothers family that this was wrong. When the waiter eventually returned - we told him we had the wrong pizza. He indicated that he saw it looked different when he brought it out and perhaps the kitchen just subbed out the peppers. I stated That is fine to do - if you check with the consumer first as i dont eat nor like green peppers. And sure i can pick them off but the ratio of peppers to sausage was more than 2-1 and left gaping holes. Waiter left and soon a manager returned. She told me that they buy both red and green hot cherry peppers and thats what this was and left. Sigh. Waiter came back and said we would get 20% off bill and was All ok then. I didnt care at that point. There is no such thing as a hot green cherry pepper - except it is green before it turns red. We also didnt have the basil as the description stated. I was not impressed with the pizza at all - ans then particularly not impressed that they couldnt just be honest that they messed up. I understand mistakes - just own it! Not going back at this point

With a reservation for three, two of us arrived on time, and the third joined us at our table shortly after. My favorite server, Damita, was assigned to our table. It was nice to see her again, always so cheerful and eager to make our dining experience pleasant and memorable. She warmly greeted us and pointed out the 2026 Virginia Blue Ridge Restaurant Week Menu. She then took our order. To drink my friends had a Liquid Death (don't worry, it was non-alcoholic), and a Lemonade. I had a N/A Mockjito (my favorite there). To dine we had a Calypso Sandwich and two Chop House Burgers from their reasantly introduced Fall menu. Once again the bartender outdid himself crafting a masterpiece of a Mockjito. Not big or small, but really nothing to recommend it. The fish fry was two filets- one dark brown and one golden brown, no real taste. Not offensive. Sweet potato fries (extra charge) were covered in sugar, but crisp and tasty. Small cup of Cole slaw was tasty. Waitress was not seen again until she brought us the bill- no offer of coffee or dessert. Not a bad experience but not enough to make me come back. What I expected from a big-box downtown Roanoke restaurant. Glad I didn't get the $48 filet!! Not really recommended.
