The patrons love him, the employees love him, and he runs a solid operation from top to bottom. And the food? Fantastic. Unacceptable Customer Service and Management Issues at 3rd Base Bar and Grill…read more I recently visited 3rd Base Bar and Grill at 118 Moore Road in Avon Lake, Ohio. The customer service was horrible, marked by rudeness and a clear lack of understanding of the Golden Rule--treating others with the respect and courtesy one would reasonably expect to receive. I have placed the owner on notice that neither my staff, friends, nor business associates will set foot on the property until these deficiencies are fully resolved and the source of the problem is removed.

I had an onion soup to start, which was very good, but could have gone a bit more on the cheese. It was a very large bowl and entirely filling. I enjoyed it very much. I also ordered...well, not sure what I ordered. I wanted the buffalo chicken wrap. I asked them for breaded chicken instead of grilled. The waiter said he can't do that. Seriously? So then I asked for the Buffalo Chicken Salad, which comes with breaded chicken, in a wrap form. I think that's what I got. There wasn't a whole lot of lettuce in it or very "salady" or any other vegetables. The chicken was cut so small, you couldn't taste the breading, which was the point. I'd go back, but wouldn't order under any circumstances, one of their wraps.

As it happened, I got there exactly 20 minutes later. It wasn't ready. Ok, you have to give them some leeway! Another 10-15 minutes passed and still no order. They told me they were just waiting on the appetizer which was a Southwestern "egg roll." I waited 10 whole additional minutes for a mediocre egg roll. Look, I get it, people fall behind. But when I get there after 20 minutes, as told, and then have to wait an additional 15 minutes, no thanks. For my meal, I ordered the Buffalo Chicken wrap sandwich with steak fries. It wasn't that bad. It was decent. Not exceptional but exactly what I expected, so kudos there. I ordered a burger for my friend and he ate it. So I assume it was satisfactory. Good or just decent service would have been a 4/5... which is very good. It's not going to win culinary awards. but good. Crappy service, 3/5 Oh, and the manager was pissed when I told him I wouldn't be back. He knew exactly why, but insisted on following me out the door! Seriously! I wasn't even rude. I just told him to do his own homework. Fact is, he knew EXACTLY why I wasn't coming back.
