A lack of attention to detail hurts this location. My first impression walking in was the signage simply read "Buffalo W" because the rest of the lights were burned out. This is not some local dive bar, but a corporate chain. The service was decent enough. I just had a drink here, but I found it a decent enough place. I got the street taco, and it was kiss-the-chef-worthy. They were so good?! It's LOUD with all the TV's but it is a sports bar with great food. Our waitress seemed overworked. She was waiting on two big section during March-Maddness Alabama game. They definitely need more staff to handle the giant crowd. read more

We gave BW's another shot after some not so hot experiences over the years. This was no exception, ordered takeout at 635, app said ready by 7, waited for over an hour to finally get the food by 815. Manager explained it was due to staffing shortages. I could tell the staff was stretched thin, but as a customer that should not be my problem. Better communication would have gone a long way, but it wasn't right to lay into a short staffed team, but I will say if you're the franchise owner, this is pathetic, your sales are trash because you don't invest in your employees, bad staffing is a sign of bad ownership and we won't be back anytime soon, I judging by the reviews, I'm not alone. read more

Update 9/1/2019. We went here last night and did not have a good experience. I doubt we will be back. My husband even wanted (and may) write corporate about it because, like be said, all their problems are really fixable. First impressions are insanely important - we walked in and there is a living human at the hostess stand who simply stared at us. Who does this?! No "Welcome to BWW," no "table for two?" not a word. Not a smile and she wasn't on her phone. It's okay to hate your job but do not hate customers. Okay. We get our trivia consoles and sit at the bar. Bartender is slightly boisterous (loud voice) and takes our drink order and waits about 15 minutes to see if we want to eat, which we did. Then her husband and toddler were hanging around the bar area and her toddler even wandered behind the bar. Not cool. She was holding the baby and chatting with a table in the bar for a long time about babies. While we were sitting there needing refills. I forgot to add that the bartender's toddler was an intermittent screamer as were a handful of children across the restaurant. Also when I went to the restroom and glanced down the restaurant the place was filthy. Carpet was cluttered everywhere with straw wrappers, crumbs, you name it. When I waited tables two phrases were ingrained in us: "Bissel while you work" and "if you have time to lean you have time to clean." Clearly, the wait staff here do not adhere to these principals. I didn't even see a Bissel. Pitiful- worse than an elementary school lunchroom after a food fight. Food comes and like always we do not get utensils. I had to ask for mustard that I ordered and never got a napkin. Neither of us did. I saw a man with a cash register tray walking around clueless. That must be the manager. Every server had a cell phone in their back pocket. We were never asked if everything was okay. Just poor service. Pitiful really. I've never seen a toddler behind a bar before. She did rush the baby out. At shift change the inbound bartender never even acknowledged us. The manager needs to be let go and all the staff and corporate needs to rethink this store. Oh and who in their right mind puts the patio facing west in Alabama? Sheesh! No wonder no one is ever sitting on that patio! At least install some sunscreens. I rate them three and a half stars. We stopped in here for an early supper, because an Alabama- Tennessee football game was on, and they have LOTS of TVs. My wife and I shared a Bacon Patty Melt Burger with steak fries. We also shared a Chocolate Fudge Cake with ice cream. Our server, Anise, took good care of us. read more

Terrible experience as normal here. Corporate has to see the numbers here, and I am certain it must have the lowest profitability in the entire company. Service is terrible. Nobody cares about customer service here. Never see a manager. Tables are rarely bussed even during slow times. We brought our family of 5 in tonight. There were 2-3 other tables occupied in the restaurant. Appetizer took 30 minutes to arrive because it was "frozen and they had to make it." 30 minutes... for an appetizer is crazy. Food was ok once it arrived, husbands fries were cold though. Sprite was basically just soda water. Something has to give. We really need decent places to eat in Athens and my daughter loves BDubs, but we will never go back here for any reason. Side note: The food delivery lady from GrubSouth was there and fortunately checked her clients order before the other waitress left for the night. She shorted this order with like 4 dishes. I always end up leaving BWW disappointed. Honestly, I vowed to never go back to one again, but against my better judgment... I went to BWW. As always, I waited at the host stand for 10 minutes before a server came to seat me. No greeting, no anything, just "how many?". Loved the warm welcome. Sat at the bar thinking that would increase the speed of service. Wrong. Ordered food for myself and some food to go. Bartender seemed confused by the menu... literally had to explain to her the item (that was on the menu) what I was trying to order. Acted like she didn't know it existed... and kept asking me questions about the item that didn't even pertain to it. Really weird, but ok, I got my order in right? 45 minutes later, half my food shows up. Togo food but no bag to carry, no silverware, anything. Bartender acted lost when I asked where the rest of my food was. I'm pretty sure she never entered it or they gave it to someone else. The timestamp on the receipt was wayyyy after I ordered my food. So either my food was put in late or it sat in the window and died before someone brought it out. My own personal food was pretty simple, some wings and fries. They come out completely dry. These wings sat in their window for so long that the sauce had literally dried. When i asked the FOH manager why they were not sauced, she laughed and said they were. Ok so you think im stupid huh? With a smart tone she asked if i wanted extra sauce. I ran my hands along the wings to show that they were bone dry and said I would need it. The sauce comes back and at that moment I noticed that all the food was cold. These people really forgot about my food and then tried to gaslight me into thinking that's how it should come out... as if I've never eaten at a BWW or had wings before. I decide that id rather have my check, pay for the food i cant eat, and leave. Instead of any kind of concern, the Bartender decides to get defensive and try to play their own failures on me because I'm upset. Wasted an hour of my life and 50 bucks for 6 wings and 2 chicken sandwiches. I always look for the positive in life though... it's a 50 dollar lesson to never go back to another BWW. I hope the server enjoyed her tip. With service like that, she must struggle. Wish I had noticed their 2 star rating before I sat down though. Only regret. I'm literally only giving 1 star because I have to. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Our server was nice but the service was horrible. The hostess just asked how many people we had , grabbed some menus and went to a table. No fretting , no follow me , nothing. We were sat in a section that had a small party. After we placed our orders , the rest of the party came in and that was all that mattered to our server. It took 20 minutes for our appetizer , another 15 for one of the 2 drinks we ordered. After another 10 minutes they came and said they couldn't make the drink. After waiting longer , they came and asked what else we wanted. We finally get our food and we're still waiting on our second drink. Our food was done by the time the other drink came. We never got refills on our waters. Honestly terrible. I ordered boneless orange chicken wings and they were incredibly hot to the point that I couldn't eat them. I have had orange chicken and this was not right. I tried to speak up and tell the waiter and he told me that it was in fact orange chicken. I had someone else at the table try them to make sure it wasn't just me and they almost threw up. This is a mild sauce on their hotness scale and this was the absolute hottest sauce I've ever had. Then when we paid the tickets he mixed the receipts up and charged our card for a different order. Worst experience I've ever had at a B-dubs, or of any sports bar for that matter. The other reviews you see aren't one-off experiences. The service is consistently awful, even with plenty of staff members. Don't get me wrong, it's not that the staff was rude or unfriendly, but they simply were inexperienced, untrained, or outright didn't care. Our party of 4 went at 6:30 on a Thursday. There were only 6 tables seated. We ordered drinks and didn't get the drinks for a half hour, and our queso appetizer didn't come until 40 minutes later. We observed at least 5 employees working the dining area, but everything seemed very unorganized. We witnessed multiple parties come in, be seated (or have to seat themselves), then go 20+ minutes with no one approaching them to take drink orders, etc. You would think that the servers were having to go to the back to cook as well. Our server, Mary, was very friendly, but she disappeared for long intervals, forgot multiple requests (a refill, a missing sauce, etc) or otherwise didn't follow up on them at the bar/kitchen. It took an hour to receive our meal, and even then our sauces were missing and we didn't receive our fries. Our server said the fries were coming. 20 minutes later we heard her inform another table that their fries were also "coming," only to hear her tell them 5 minutes later that they were out of fries. Shortly thereafter, she came and acted surprised that we still didn't have our fries and told us they were out of them now. The food overall wasn't bad. The staff seemed friendly and the restaurant was clean. But again, it's amazing that Corporate hasn't stepped in here. It's obvious that there's a major issue. read more

I am 55 years old and made a Yelp account just to leave a review about this issue. Manager, Presley, displayed extreme unprofessionalism and was extremely rude to the bartender, Anissa. Anissa was one of the best servers/bartenders I have had in awhile. Seeing the manager cuss at her and be extremely rude was very off-putting. Went in there last night and waited 20 minutes to be seated. Not because they were busy but because there was no one at the counter. The hostess was in the bathroom and my girlfriend asked her in the bathroom to seat us. Then we waited another 40 minutes and no one came to the table even after my girlfriend went to the bar area to ask for a waitress. As we was walking out my girlfriend found the manager. A guy and he just shrugged. Do not go to this location. It's a waste of time completely. It's a shame because I live close to it and have had decent service. It's one of my favorite chains but the service is terrible. They have gotten my order wrong in the past but a lady manager made things right. This place needs an overhaul of staff. read more

We have given this BWW multiple chances to redeem itself and have been sorely let down every time but once (about 8 trips total). It simply doesn't live up to the standards set by the parent company. Some of the issues include: undercooked pickles, frequently no host up front, host doesn't know what a booster seat is, wrong drink delivered, major wait times despite slim crowds, waiters not wanting to be there, orders forgotten, multiple times asking for more napkins and having to get them ourselves, world cup championship game not showing, consistent errors on special orders, management is distant and servers seem left to fend for themselves, the servers who do work hard seem overwhelmed... With this product, its brand, and location, this BWW should be a gold mine. I hope they are able to turn it around it around; I think training coming in from corporate is going to be vital. read more

As I waited 30 minutes after my pickup order said it'd be ready, I saw two families walk out because they waited over an hour for their food that never arrived. I read some negative reviews written immediately after this spot opened, and I think those opening hiccups have been worked out. If you visited opening week and were disappointed, give it another try. I've been here twice, and both experiences were very good. If you like BWW, this is a typical BWW. Large portions of large wings, reasonable lunch specials, plenty of TVs, noisy, lots of sports, and friendly, lively service. There are about 30 beer taps. Many of those are wasted on beer for the masses, but there are a few crafts on tap, more crafts than any Athens restaurant. read more

Well, I guess I shouldn't come here expecting anything but wings and today that's absolutely all there was. I try to eat healthy and usually get grilled tenders. Today no grilled tenders, no Philly, sandwich, no burgers, no Caesar salad. If it wasn't fried they didn't have it. They finally brought me these gross looking chicken chunks in a baggie and told me they could put that in a wrap or on a salad. I would have left but everyone else at the table had already ordered and I assumed their order was in progress (wrong assumption!). I finally had a side salad and a bowl of chili that was barely warm. Took about 30-minutes to serve our food after my multiple attempts to place an order. So if you like a chicken wrap or salad with chicken on it and think it's fresh cooked, go somewhere else. If you'd like paper towels to dry your hands in the bathroom, go somewhere else!
