I'm no expert but their product has all the characteristics of green unseasoned wood, which doesn't burn. After chasing the company for a month to make me whole, they refuse to deliver and replace the defective product with a seasoned quality cord of wood that I paid for. I tried mixing 1 defective log with good logs and the bad log was always left hissing and smoking. This was very difficult for me because I'm 100% disabled. Use caution and beware of this company and their merchandise.

They are hard-working and reliable, and they clearly know their stuff. However, the estimate and…read morebilling process needs improvement. They repeatedly avoided providing a written estimate until the job was finished, along with the final invoice. By the time all the work was completed, the final cost exceeded my budget, which could have been avoided if they had kept me informed throughout the process. Additionally, they damaged my front steps with a bobcat, but only mentioned it after I pointed it out. They never offered to cover the damage or even a portion of it; instead, they provided me with an estimate to replace the entire staircase.

With the EAB critter having destroyed some of our ash trees, I knew they had to be taken down…read morebefore they caused damage. I got quotes from THREE different services before finding Pauley's, and I'm glad I found them! One of our larger trees was growing inside our playground, making for a challenging job. One of the other guys quoted a ridiculously high amount, and wanted me to take apart and move parts of our playground -- he also increased the quote when he came back to look a 2nd time, and changed the scope of what he'd do. The 2nd guy also quoted very high and was concerned about the playground. Kevin and his partner worked together well, and took care of my trees carefully, causing *no* damage to our playground -- they were pleasant to work with, offered options to work within our budget (e.g. we chose not to have full clean-up), and came back each day to make sure the job got completed. It got COLD and even snowed a bit -- didn't stop them at all! Truth: the "partner" was Kevin's wife, and it was a joy watching them work together, carefully roping the chunks down to avoid any damage. If you like working with down-to-earth, real people, with experience to get the job done, and at a fair & reasonable price, I recommend giving Pauley's Tree Service a call!
