They told me that the henna I have used to strengthen and relax my curly hair had destroyed my hair and that my grey hair would never be a nice texture. That no product would help. I told her that I was desperate for an immediate solution, even an imperfect one while I waited to hear back from her. She said there were none. I decided to look for the L'Oreal product anyways. It was $14, so I bought it. Lost business over $14. The Loreal product is wonderful. My cuticle is closed, and my hair looks the best it has in years. I greatly appreciate the salesperson who showed me where to find what I came in to buy in the first place. I was happy to pay extra to be pampered with a protein treatment. I will find a different salon to do so. I've dealt with enough hair stylists who do what they want rather than listening to what their customer is asking for. The hard sell is not what I needed. This is not how you should get clients. It's a good store. Clean, and well staffed. Maybe just be careful of the folks who will tell you that your hair is a lost cause - it may only cost $14 to fix your problem, but they are selling a service not fixing your issue. Disappointed to find that hair at Ulta is no different than taking my car to the mechanic. Refusing to listen to the customer, trying to sell services that are unnecessary, and refusing to provide simple solutions if they can't make it expensive.

However, after dealing with repeated lateness and ultimately receiving disappointing results, I feel it's important to share my honest experience. Over multiple appointments, my scheduled times would consistently be pushed back for hours because walk-in clients were being taken ahead of me. Despite that, I stayed patient, flexible, and understanding because I genuinely wanted to support the business and trusted that the final outcome would be worth it. Unfortunately, the actual service felt rushed. I was there for around six hours total, yet afterward I noticed several locs in the back of my head had been combined and split unevenly, while the rest of my hair was done completely differently. The lower section especially looked inconsistent and unfinished compared to the top, almost as if it was done quickly hoping it wouldn't be noticed. The work did not flow naturally or match throughout my head, and it became more obvious once I got home and looked through my hair carefully. What upset me most was how the situation was handled afterward. When I brought up my concerns respectfully, I was told that two people had worked on my hair for "10 hours," which simply was not true. A second person only assisted during the last portion of the appointment, and I was physically present the entire time, so hearing an exaggerated version of events instead of accountability was frustrating and disappointing. I'm not leaving this review to be hateful or malicious. I believe in supporting local stylists and giving honest feedback where it's deserved. But after the amount of patience, time, and money I invested into this experience, I do not feel the quality of service or professionalism matched what was promised.

The recent time I went, I begged for small braids but didn't get them small...not the small I asked for. Again, I don't like to cause a ruckus but the hairdresser walked over to the owner (when she has about 3 braids left) and said she can't finish my hair because I was "acting weird" which was just me not trying to breakdown at how I looked. The owner then told me she (the hairdresser) had an issue with me speaking a different language on the phone and later told me to go back to my country. The owner is foreign, as well as my cousin who recommended the salon to me, which is why I felt safe enough to go there. Such a bad experience but one that people need to know about! Would put 0/5 stars if I could.
