I had such a lovely customer service experience at Buff City Soap - I'm recalling how great the service was weeks later. I had been curious and wanting to pop by as soon as I found out the lovely Erin Edds was involved. In need of a little "thank you" gift, I thought Buff City Soap was the perfect answer while I was in the area. The staff promptly greeted us upon arrival and were busy bustling around creating new soaps (love the open concept so that guests can see how the magic happens). The displays are cleverly set up with products ranging from colorful bars of soap and bath bombs to whipped body creams and an assortment of laundry-related products. The young man who checked us out graciously wrapped my gift in a small box and even through in a few fun samples for us to try out at home. It was such a fun and pleasant experience. She is very enthusiastic and takes pride in her work. The store offers a wide variety of bath products and they have all different kinds of soap and laundry products. I bought the cherry almond soap and a mystery box for my cousin. The cherry almond soap was great, but I had problems with the soap dispenser. I could not get the soap dispenser to work, so I had to transfer the soap to another dispenser. I would recommend to have soap dispenser be easily accessible and not difficult to use. This is a great spot to purchase soap products for children, men and women plus your dogs and even laundry soap. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the second we entered the store. All the plant based products are made internally by the staff and you can watch the process. All the products are chemical and preservation free plus smell amazing. The numerous scents are reasons to return often to purchase different scents of the bath bars, bath balls, shower steamers and oils plus espon salts and much more. The store is very well organized and each area is well marked by products and scents. You can linger and enjoy the fragrance jars provided or just swoop in and pick up your new scents or your personal favorites. I haven't tried my purchsses of soap balls, bars and Epson salt yet but I know the aroma will be very satisfying. I look forward to returning. read more

I have been to Buff City soap a few times now including Grand Opening Day standing in line with Yelper Chrissy Chapman. It was very, very cold but well worth the wait for a card entitling us to a free year of bar soap! A punch card for 2 bars of soap of our choice per month for a year! They held this fantastic giveaway for the first 50!!! people in line the first four days they were open. Such a grand & generous gesture! The bar soaps are made in house and are very beautiful, they smell great and leave your skin feeling very soft. They have several different scents and carry laundry soap, bath bombs and shower fizzies as well. The store is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I popped in on a Thursday afternoon and found I had the store to myself! An associate was cutting soaps, and I got a sneak peek at how they manufacture and slice all their soaps on the premises; very cool! I thought it was great that since everything is made on-site if you like a scent you can have it made into any type of product you would like. They'll make it there for you custom. I picked up the whipped soap in tropical citrus and loved the thick creamy consistency and mild scent! Went great on my loofa so I didn't overuse the product. Well that has now changed since I've had the chance to get something at Buff City. Everything I got is divine. Soap whip in Narcissist. It's a thick soap in a jar with a great scent. It's nice and sudsy and has a satisfying texture when I get some from the jar. Bar soap in Sweater Weather. THIS is it. This is the one I'm going back for. Once you walk inside it smells so clean!! I personally didn't know anything about this business only that they made soap. I found out it started in Bartlett, Tennessee. It's a plant based soap company using natural ingredients in the United States. They make the soaps, bath bombs, shower fizzys, all the items in the store. They can cut the soap into thirds, slice off samples to try which is what I got today samples of the coconut soap! They had big containers of all sorts of soap extras at the check out that you can take home and try! How neat! Scan the QR code and you can either get a free bath bomb or a free shower fizzy. All the detergents you use two little scoops and if they don't have a scent you like they can make it for you. The lady that worked there said she takes one scoop of lavender and one scoop of clean cotton and puts it in the washing machine. They have wool laundry balls that they will infuse with whatever essential oil you want. They have a men's line and a kid's section also. Both sections smelled great! I'm not a flower scent person and some of the ladies in line said they like some of the men's scents as well. They smelled good! Kid's can make their own bath bombs at the soap makery section. Buff City Soap is so fun! They just opened in Carmel this past weekend. I love the products are free of chemicals, detergents, and preservatives. They make the soap right there in store so it is fresh! They make products daily so you can watch! They have so many fun scents. Something for everyone from women, kids and even men's scents. I think I am already addicted to the soaps. I refuse to use anything else now. I have super sensitive skin and this stuff works amazing for that. I love that it doesn't dry my skin out either. I went early the day they opened and was able to get free soap for a year. I am so excited to check out the seasonal scents and share with friends. I got my two free bars this month and the cherry almond is amazing. I got my mom Glass Slipper, which is eucalyptus, and peppermint. When you sign up in store for text messages you get a free bath bomb or shower steamer. So I got my mom a shower steamer. I also got two Shower oils. Cherry Almond and Coconut. The coconut is very light, but the cherry smells really good and I love having matching to my soap. They suggested you put on after your shower while still a little damp. I tried it in store and it took a few minutes, but it doesn't make you feel greasy. It was hard to choose scents since there are so many! They also have laundry detergent and wool dryer ball and you can have fragrance added to the ball. They will even add more scent it for a few dollars if you bring it back. I got a free sample of laundry detergent, but haven't tried it yet. They have body butters, lotion "bars" in a push rub on stick, foaming hand soaps, Epsom salts, soap whip, beard care, and shave soaps. My friend said to look for the face bar and lip balm, but after I had been, so can't wait to check these out next trip. The soaps are so pretty!! They all smell amazing! I LOVE this soap shop. Their products are my new go-to gifts to give! I just bought a ton of soaps and other fun goodies for Mother's Day gifts. Their soaps smell so good, and what makes it even better is they are all natural! No breaking out over here! Not to mention, they are really pretty. I love that I can get any scent I want for the bath truffles and laundry soap. Recently I had them make some bath truffles in the "Cool Mom" scent for Mother's Day. They turned out so cute and smell amazing too. I just tried their body butter for the first time because they gave me a little sample. Oh my goodness, hands down the best body butter I've ever tried. It isn't greasy like the body butters from other places. It's thick and really moisturizes deep into your skin, and of course, smells amazing. All of the employees here are great! This is a must go. The soaps they have smell great. You can make your own bath truffle which is fun to see little kiddos do. However, we must talk about the laundry soap. Run (do not walk) to get some. I have sensitive skin and this has been a dream. They have some pre-scented but you can have them do any of their scents. They have a few locations around town but I have found the Carmel crew to be fun and super helpful. read more

This soap is the real deal. I drove in from Chicago a few weeks ago and I'm so glad that this place was recommended. I got the Queen body butter and the unicorn and fruit loops soap. Everything is so moisturizing and it smells so good. I have bought soaps from lush, Whole Foods and all sorts of other places but this takes the cake. So far the unicorn soap lathers in a creamy way like a Dove soap and when I step out of the shower my skin doesn't look red and angry. I have keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) on my arms and legs and everything has been great at calming and moisturizing my skin. I tried googling the closest buff city but it looks like I will need to place an online order sometime soon. I hope they franchise here in Chicago! read more
