I came here during lunchtime and it was really nice ! I walked in and was immediately greeted and handed a menu. I was told I could order at the table thru a q r code or I could go up to the counter. I chose the counter in case I had questions. I ended up going with ramen and sushi roll combo.. it comes with a side Salad as well and if you check in Yelp, you get a free spring roll!! The side salad was delicious and so beautiful. It was much bigger than a regular side ginger salad I'm used to with way more toppings. The shrimp tempura roll has cucumbers and shrimp tempura inside which was a nice pairing. The spring egg roll was hot, crispy and comes with a side of chili sauce. It was delicious ! We are fans of Budi's Sushi Two Go. Staff is always super friendly and helpful when we've come by and we started coming here a good bit during the pandemic. Appreciate how they all wear masks and to go/takeout packaging is always done well. We eyed their outdoor seating area for awhile now and finally got to eat there and enjoyed how nice and clean their outdoor dining was with the turf. My dog enjoyed being out there as well. They brought out iced water in a bowl for my dog which we all appreciated...especially the pup. The sushi chef and team know what they are doing here. Truly a labor of love with their creations of sushi rolls, nigiri, etc we ordered from there. Everything we've ordered whether it was takeout or dine in is super fresh, generous portion, and beautifully displayed. We love their sushi and nigiri. Man, their salmon nigiri is so so good. Tastes like butter. So on point. Their poke bowl is really good too. Oh, also, their spicy tuna hits differently! So tasty here. Probably one of our favorite spicy tuna we've had. Pretty good! I got an order of the salmon sashimi and tuna sashimi and then a roll. I can't remember what the roll was called but it had shrimp tempura in it. The sashimi slices are THICK which was amaaazing. And they tasted quite fresh. The roll was good as well, but the star to me was the sashimi. I thought it was maybe too much food for me. I would recommend either getting one roll bc it's actually a pretty large roll OR three orders of sashimi and maybe an appetizer if you're hungry. Staff was nice and very attentive. They continuously refilled our waters and asked if everything was okay. Place is very lowkey and quiet, sort of a casual place you might go to for a catch up with a friend. I had low expectations especially seeing that it was pretty deserted, BUT as soon as the food came out- before I even tasted anything, I was impressed. Presentation was amazing. All of the food was prepped and presented well. It looked so appetizing. Portion sizes were great. The fish were big cuts of fish and they gave plenty. It wasn't overfilled with rice. Plenty of toppings. I was amazed. A lot of sushi places will be stingy with fish and give lots of rice. This wasn't the case with Budi. We ordered the Ocean pyramid, God save the queen roll (chef's choice what to cook you), takoyaki, and a poke bowl. Every single item was amazing. You know, even if Budi's doesn't have a spin wheel if you order more than $50 it's still worth it to come and support here. I came here first during a Yelp event that they hosted for elites, and it definitely piqued my interest in coming back here...and so here we are. I reordered some things but also tried some other things. So ordering to go: I got the Terminator, Ocean Pyramid, Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, and the Peter Parker. With a check in from Yelp, it bagged me a free vegetable spring roll. (Note, it's literally just 1 spring roll) And to top it off thinking that it was crazy I got a free item from their wall of goods! Food: I had both the Terminator and the Ocean Pyramid before, and to be honest I thought the pyramid is perfect to share with someone else. The new ones were the Spicy Tuna Hand Roll and the Peter Parker. The Peter Parker had a slight spiciness to it, which I liked, but overall it was a great roll. The hand roll had a lot of tuna and I thought it was great as far as the amount. I do wish that there were two hand rolls per order, but no other complaints. I would definitely recommend Budi's Sushi Two Go, it made me sad that this spot is right behind a Village Burger and kind of hidden but this place is the place to go for all your sushi needs. One of Yelp's highest-rated restaurants in Atlanta has now gone OTP. Popular Budi's Sushi in downtown Atlanta opened a second location in Dunwoody in October 2020. If you want good, casual, and reasonably-priced sushi north of the city, this place is definitely worth a visit. Budi's Sushi Two Go opened in the old Diced Deli space at Dunwoody Plaza. Same plaza as Village Burger. Parking can get tight during peak times, but you shouldn't have a problem finding a space. "Two Go" is a play on this being the second location of Budi's Sushi and to-go food (takeout), which has become prevalent since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold stateside in March 2020. Don't let the name fool you - this is very much a traditional dine-in restaurant with a nice, open, airy, modern, clean and newly-renovated space. You can sit at the sushi bar, in the dining room, at one of the group high-tops, or outside on the umbrella-covered patio (they have cornhole). Also part of the to-go aspect of this location is a small market selling packaged Asian food and drink like noodles, snacks, candy, condiments, and drinks. The menu at this location is different than the original downtown location. The main difference is this location doesn't have all the cooked dishes (for example, the special Indonesian menu) that the downtown location has. However, I think the sushi menu here is the same and they have the viral Ocean Pyramid (sushi pyramid) too. My wife and I tried a good variety of the dishes at this location, prepared by Budi's chefs. I recognized the staff from Budi's other ventures, namely Joe (I think he's one of the lead sushi chefs). We thought everything was delicious. It's my understanding that Budi will still spend most of his time working at the downtown location. Here's what we've had: * Sushi A ($20.95) - seven pieces of chef's choice sushi with California roll and miso soup * Kaisendon ($22.95) - 14 pieces of sashimi with salmon roe on a bed of sushi rice with miso soup * PPAP house roll ($13.95) - spicy scallops topped with fresh salmon and wasabi mayo * Tori Oyako ($13.00) - steamed rice, chicken chashu, cilantro, avocado, cucumber, carrots, black beans, soft fried egg * Tofu Steak Lunch Combo ($10.00) - steamed rice, grilled firm tofu, cilantro, avocado, cucumber, carrots, sweet corn, black beans * Sushi Lunch Combo ($10.75) - veggie spring roll, California roll; tuna, salmon, and yellowtail nigiri All the fish we had was fresh and tasty, from the tuna to the mackerel. My "Sushi A" came with the following nigiri: shime saba (cured mackerel), madai (red seabream), albacore, escolar, tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. While several of the fish types are standard for most sushi joints, what sets Budi's apart are the freshness and flavors. Each type of fish was flavorful. And each type of fish was distinct, not only in terms of texture, but in taste too -- that's not always the case at sushi restaurants. Budi's sushi is flavorful without being "fishy." Also, the fish at Budi's, both at this location and the downtown location, have never been mushy. Each type of fish maintains its own unique consistency. The Kaisendon we received contained the same types of fish chosen for the Sushi A plus tako (octopus) and ikura (salmon roe). Again, good stuff. Generous portion size. I was particularly fond of the shime saba (excellent flavor and texture), madai (smooth, soft, mild), yellowtail (great quality), and ikura (bursts of salt and umami). Some pieces of nigiri and sashimi had subtle toppings which were a nice touch. However, every piece of fish was good enough to stand on its own. My wife thought the Sushi Lunch Combo was really good. At $10.75, it's a good value. She doesn't eat much, though, so your mileage may vary. We both loved the PPAP house roll. I highly recommend it. It's a roll I was introduced to at the downtown location. Scallops wrapped in salmon should be 'nuff said. Eight pieces are served per order. Biting into each piece is simply quite pleasurable, even magical. Both the Tori Oyako and the Tofu Steak were substantial, filling, cooked entrees. I really liked the fresh avocado in both dishes. Two things made the Tori Oyako special: (1) The soft fried egg. It was distinctive, delicate, and appetizing. Cooked to perfection. (2) The chicken chashu was marinated, cooked via sous-vide at 142 degrees, then seared. The slices of meat were lean and tender. We had the lunch version of the Tofu Steak, but it's available at dinner too. It was fresh, healthy, and well-balanced. I enjoyed the colorful variety of veggies (I'm a veggie lover). These bowls were like Asian Chipotle bowls. The sauces make a big difference. Our favorite sauces were the Yuzu Chimichurri, Ginger Soy Butter, and Ultra Spicy Sauce. Place is at the end of the Dunwoody Village shopping center and looked to have offered dine in and outside table options as well. I decided to order a spicy chicken lunch special and a Peter Parker roll. The spicy chicken was actually little fried pcs of dark meat, which I wasn't expecting but very much enjoyed. Would've been much better had it been hot but it did take me some time before I could sit down to start eating. The plate also comes with an egg and some avocado, corn and rice, all of which made pretty good accompaniments to the main dish. Oh and the spring roll, while little in size, was big in flavor and had a great crispy skin. I was also a big fan of the sauce that came w/it as well, def a little spicy. The woman behind the counter greeted me warmly and with enthusiasm. Though I knew what I wanted (more like TOLD To get... LOL), the woman offered a few ideas but I stuck to my order and it was great! Everything was fresh, packed well for take-out and considering that it was made to order, was not expensive at all I noticed that they sell Ramune Japanese sodas, I will definitely grab one or two the next time (they're good but barely 7 ounces...) I can't believe it's taken us this long to try Budi's! We came by for lunch and we were very impressed and it'll be a new go to when looking for delicious, high quality sushi at a great value. We stopped by for lunch and they had a variety of different lunch specials from sushi to ramen and even rice dishes. I'd gone to a couple of the Elite events hosted by Budi's Sushi - their downtown & Decatur locations ... so I was excited when I heard they opened a Dunwoody location too. Of course I felt bad about the timing w/ the pandemic, and I started following them on Instagram and liked many of their posts ... their sushi presentation always looks so good. It took a while but I finally ordered from them today since I was in the neighborhood. They are doing in-dining now, and they have tables outside too. SUSHI + COMBO - $11.95 lunch special I think I ordered the least expensive lunch combo - and this one seemed like a good value, plus I liked the variety. Choice of roll (6 pcs), 3 nirigi or sashimi & 1 veggie spring roll. You also get wasabi, ginger slices & soy sauce packets. Presentation wise, esp. in the carry-out container - looks nothing like the Instagram posts - but what do you expect? However ... when you look closely at the nirigi & sashimi especially, they are nice sized thick pieces of fish - my mouth is literally watering right now and I'm wishing I could eat more right now. I got the tuna & yellowtail nigiri, and salmon sashimi - all were sooooo good. And with the nirigi, while other places give you almost as much rice as fish - there was only a little ball of rice hiding underneath the big piece of fish, lol. I honestly thought they messed up my order and gave me 3 sashimi. For the roll, I got the salmon/avocado - also yummy, and I liked the added furikake on the outside which gave a nice smokey flavor. The fried spring roll was very good too - many other places always do a disappointing spring roll where the contents taste questionable but this one was very good, and it comes with a tasty sweet chili sauce. The online ordering experience is definitely better on the computer (vs mobile) - I had a hard time figuring out how to check-out on my mobile device and how to customize my delivery time ... and gave up after several tries. This is by far the best sushi place in Dunwoody... actually best sushi in Atlanta! Yes, I mean all of atlanta, including downtown, midtown, and buckhead. Salmon sashimi and Toro is so buttery and smooth. It literally MELTs in my mouth. Also had their ramen (miso base) which hit the spot. The sushi combo is a great deal as well!! Food was delicious! My favorite rolls are the PPAP, which includes spicy scallop and cucumber inside, with fresh salmon on top & wasabi mayo, and the second favorite is the Peter Parker roll. It has spicy tuna and jalapenos on the outside with sriracha, and inside has crab, tuna, yellowtail, and cucumber. My favorite appetizers are the Yellowtail Yuzu Kosho and the Yellowtail Cooked Collar/ Cheek. Everyone is friendly there :). read more
