He had to order a service kit (replaced one circuit board on the back and the complete icemaker, also replaced the slide in ice tray because it broke when I pulled it out). They called when the parts were in and setup a repair date. I had to defrost my freezer/ice maker before work could start. The reschedule date was good for me. Jimmy came back, did the work in an hour and half. He communicated well with me and took all old parts, parts boxes and trash with him. He showed up on time and did a GREAT JOB! This was AHS warranty work and there were issues with Blue Collar working with AHS. I have ZERO negative comments about the whole process and would highly recommend Blue Collar to anyone & everyone. After 3 or 4 times of opening the door and getting a bath, I called Metro Appliance on the recommendation of a friend. Without even looking at the washer, they diagnosed the problem over the phone as being a leaky water valve (shouldn't I have heard water running or dripping if this was the case?). After rescheduling my appointment 3 times, they fianlly sent an elderly repairman (near 70) to my house who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to diagnose the cause of the problem. I don't know if the part was really needed or if it was (as a friend later suggested) something stuck in the drain pipe that was keeping it from emptying completely. Instead the repairman swore repeatedly (and I mean loudly and offensively!) as he wrestled the washer out of place to replace the valve. He also swore at architects, plumbers and builders for putting laundry rooms in tight spaces. He did not let me keep the replaced part so I could have it checked out by Sears, and when I asked him if he was sure that was the problem and he said "I don't know, I hope so." So I paid $155.10 for hope?? Let's just say my confidence in his repair is pretty low and I will never have them into my home ever again.

From the selection, to the staff to the pricing. No complaints here. But alas, the oven stopped working as I went to pop in lasagna last week. UGH. My handy father-in-law checked it over-- the elements all worked, the stovetop worked, the back of it looked in fine order and your guess is as good as his on what is wrong. We had to bring in the professionals. I emailed Slagers (including when we purchased it, the model number, etc). They said the could fit us in and to give them a ring. We called on a Friday afternoon and they were able to fit us in Monday morning at 8AM. Huzzah. I was given an 8-10AM window and our technician, Nate, came right at 9AM. He was insanely knowledgeable and pleasant. He found the fix within ten minutes. He outlined the bill with me prior to leaving, as to ensure no surprised. Boom. Done. The appliance ownership that comes along with homeownership isn't always the easiest or glorious. They cost a lot and it's frustrating when something so insanely necessary for day to day life isn't working-- Slager Appliances has got you covered!

As a result, water backed up into our home and caused significant damage. To their credit, they did send SERVPRO to handle the cleanup and repairs. However, the entire situation was extremely inconvenient and stressful. We had to take two full days off work to accommodate the cleanup and repair process. During the installation, the technicians also damaged our dryer vent connection. What was most disappointing was the poor customer service throughout the process. Communication was lacking, and it felt like we had to work much harder than we should have to get their mistake addressed. Mistakes can happen, but customers should not have to deal with property damage, additional repairs, lost work time, and unresponsive customer service as a result. Based on our experience, I would be very cautious about purchasing appliances and installation services from this retailer.
