Well maybe I'm just a bit more crazy then the other people from across the pond. I rent cars each week while on the road in the US and it's a no brainer to roll in and out. But this would be soooo different. Enterprise was the only rental company that had multiple rental locations off airport site. I was able to book the car choice, location for pickup and small details online. Received a call back the next day confirming the booking and asking if I would need an automatic. Since I didn't even think about driving a stick shift with the wrong hands. Yes please on the automatic. No problems picking the vehicle up in Wales and dropping it off in Manchester. Only snag....there is no night drop off or early drop off. The locations have specific hours compared to the airport locations. Check before you assume you can just drop off car whenever. You will need to rent over a weekend with no drop off on Sundays. Just remember a few things if you choose to rent while in the UK. Bring passport to rent car. Ask for automatic car. Get the insurance. You might need a SaT-Nav ( GPS ) Take a few moments to drive around in a parking lot or some slower traffic back roads. Then head out on the highway. Have fun!
