They are always late sometimes more than 30 minutes. The last time I was supposed to pick my car at 6 pm and knowing how late they always are, I arrived at 6:15. The woman on the counter treated me rudely and told me she was going for a 20 min break, seeing my disbelieve face she replied that I was 15 min late and so I had no reason to complain. I had to wait 20 min for her to drink her coffee in her booth.

That's not the end of the world though - I'm a reasonable person - the real problem was no one could help me for days: not the local office, not corporate, no one - and even after 5 days when they finally replaced my car and promised me a refund, they failed to refund me - I started calling them every week and nicely explaining my situation, but they just kept telling me that only the local manager can help, and the local manager ignored me every time. And it gets worse... when they wouldn't refund me I disputed the credit card charge, and they told my credit card company there was nothing wrong and took the money back. I've re-disputed and I hope to have success, now a month later.

The employee from another rental agency next to enterprise told me that it was not even the first time that the enterprise employee did just not show up/ just left. Us waiting customers just got transferred around by enterprise customer service on the phone, nobody helped. After an hour, the employee appeared, claiming that there had been a family emergency. However, it was very unplausible. He was laughing and seemed to enjoy the anger of us waiting. He was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional, didn't apologize appropriately and refused to give out his name. I called enterprise customer service again, they promised they would get back to me, but they still haven't.

I've never in my life experienced such poor customer service at any business…read more I rented a car from NYC to attend a friend's wedding in Wallingford, CT. I unfortunately hit a pothole and got a flat tire during my trip; changed the tire to the donut and was instructed by roadside service to go to the Avis located at 155 Burr Street at Tweed Airport for an exchange so I could drive back to NYC. When I arrived at Tweed airport, the man behind the Avis counter told me he didn't have a vehicle for me and to call Roadside Assistance myself. He then proceeded to just text on his phone. He wouldn't budge on contacting any other nearby Avis until I begged him. He suggested I drive 50+ miles on the donut to another Avis. I called Roadside Assistance only to find out there were no exchanges at any Avis within close proximity and that I was stranded. It was suggested by Roadside Assistance that I go buy a tire somewhere and submit for reimbursement. I decided to drop off the car at Avis at Tweed Airport and go without a vehicle. He took my keys and said I'd receive an email receipt. Fortunately some friends were still local and hadn't left yet for NYC. I took a Lyft back to the hotel and was able to get back home in a friend's car. I came home to discover that I hadn't received a receipt so I called Customer Service. He never bothered to check me in. Avis customer service checked me in on their end and waived the "one way" fee and sent me a coupon for a future rental. I HIGHLY suggest avoiding this Avis location under any and all circumstances. The lack of care to his job and concern for customers was unlike anything I've ever seen in my life. Travel issues are immensely stressful and to receive NO assistance especially without compassion is unbelievable.
