If you like to fish, you will have easy access to the Grand Bayou reservoir with two lighted ramps for those early days and late evenings. Grand Bayou Resort is a gem, in that it offers RV/Trailer and primitive campsites to the right once you pass the main security office. If you go left from the security office you will be greeted by cabins up the hill followed by lodges but may be a favorite or the bungalows toward the rear. *If you decide on the bungalows and need to up pack, you can access the bungalows from a parking lot nearby, but I recommend following the signs to their beach and drive up a small hill to unload your gear then you can keep straight and park in the lot. Security makes their rounds so your vehicle is safe. The staff is very friendly and will provide you with any information needed if you are not from the area. Walk around and be with nature. There is nothing like having a fresh cup of hot tea or coffee in the morning while sitting on the porch watching the sunlight dance on the waves. Almost forgot, time goes slow in these parts so if you are not going to make it to the resort by the time the office close, you will need to make arrangements because you will need a code to enter through the security gates.!!

I travel a lot for work, including numerous in-state travel days a year. I often find myself in this class of hotel since only larger cities have higher tier hotels. My requirements for hotels in this tier are that they are clean, quiet, have friendly staff, and are convenient to the highway. A decent free breakfast is lagniappe. This location hits most of those pretty solidly. I arrived late in the afternoon and had to leave pretty early, so my stay was limited. My room was large and comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, minus flat pillows (why oh why do hotels have trash pillows). The staff was friendly, although my interaction was limited to check in. The room was a little louder than I am accustomed to, but it was a first floor, parking lot adjacent room, which may have been to blame. I slept well, and the breakfast was decent, but since it was free, it added a couple of points. If you are looking for this type of hotel along your journey, this is a good place to pick.

I thought this location would be perfect for a night stay after a long drive. BOY WAS I WRONG!!…read more Worst hotel I stayed at the entire week, and it was a Marriott! I was shocked at the quality of the room for a hotel of this price. Beautiful hotel, too; soon as you pull up, it's the first thing you notice. Lobby also smells amazing (brand distinction scent). The front desk staff attempted to help as much as possible during the stay, but not much you can do when your housekeeping staff cuts every possible corner. We were moved rooms to a room that wasn't as visibly dirty, but smelled HORRIBLE. I contact customer service regarding the stay, and they dropped the ball too. All in all, stay away; there's a Super 8 across the roundabout that offers the same quality for half the rate. What makes a brand trustworthy? Not this, that's for sure. Worst part? Customer Service was indeed contacted and not once was even the most reluctant 'sorry' offered.

Stayed a few days for a conference. One of the most interesting experiences I've ever had. Upon…read morearriving and my initial scope of the place I really felt like online reviews were treating the Paragon too harshly and that it could not be that bad actually staying here. The decor was not as outdated as it could be and you can see where they have touched things up over the years. It is a massive facility with other things to do besides gamble. The place smelled of smoke as I would expect from any casino/hotel. The Top Golf Suite cafe took an hour and a half to bring food and it made everyone in there mad as h*ll. Nobody understood how you couldn't be prepared for an influx of people due to a conference. The burger I ordered from there was ok but the fries were overcooked. Paragon disabled the hdmi capabilities of the tvs so don't bring your PlayStation or Xbox thinking you'll play any of that here. They don't have a do not disturb sign for your door. The water pressure on the shower may be the worst in the United States of America. The light above the toilet area inside the bathroom was supremely dim. Flashlight needed My room had a sour smell mixed with housekeeping cleaner that kind of settled down after I ran the AC through my room. Stains were everywhere on my carpet and sofa chair. For the second day of my stay the water coming out of all of my faucets were BROWN (pictured). I notified the front desk and they recommended to just run the water for a while...I started running water at 4:45 pm and it is still brown at 10:21 PM. My coworkers also had brown water issues. The bed was very comfortable though. The towels in the room were clean and the surfaces that really mattered like the bed and countertops were clean. Paragons ability to host a conference is not in question because the infrastructure is there to do it and the service was polite. The food served at the conference was good overall. The movie theater was clean and a great experience. I would've tried the spa but it was closed. Numerous certain areas of the hotel just had a snapshot of an absolutely putrid odor. Every time I walked past a certain smell I just got mad as h*ll lol. If your love is not totally with gambling and getting drunk like never before...I would just stay at the Hampton across the street and then visit Paragon for certain activities. If you really need to gamble, come to any of the hotels in Shreveport/Bossier....may be a fraction of the size of the Paragon but I can almost guarantee you'll be happier and cleaner. As of 12:39 AM my water is now clear

I actually brought my own sheets, blanket, and pillow because I had a feeling the place wouldn't be clean--and unfortunately I was right. I've stayed in a lot of budget hotels before, but this one was by far the worst. What made the experience even worse was being falsely accused of stealing pillows. The owner charged me $50 claiming that he saw me take pillows on the camera. That is completely untrue. I brought my own bedding with me and never took anything from the room. Being accused of theft when I specifically brought my own items because the place was dirty is unacceptable. When I called to question the charge, the owner told me he had filed a police report. I contacted the Jonesboro Police Station myself, and they told me there was no report, which means he lied about that as well. The service was awful, the room was filthy, and the whole situation was handled very poorly. I would strongly advise travelers--especially anglers passing through--not to stay at this inn. There are definitely better and more honest places to spend your money.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. The hotel management is extremely rude. Down right mean…read more They speak to individuals with little to no respect. If anyone ever has to reside in this town please don't waste you time and money at this hotel.

There's fresh-fruit-flavored cold water, big chocolate chip cookies, and a cappuccino machine by check in counter. The reception area, hallways, & bedrooms are clean. NO CONNECTING ROOMs, although it's noted to be available online. Our bedroom & bathroom were reasonably spacious & stocked with basic toiletries. We really liked the breakfast options. Although the dining room is small, they have more variety of breakfast totems than most places (even the more expensive ones). Here are the list of their breakfast choices: - hot items: pancake-covered sausage on a stick, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, biscuit & gravy, Texas-shaped Belgian waffle (you make it on site with a waffle maker) - continental: bread, bagels, prepackaged cinnamon rolls, prepackaged cheese pastry, breakfast bars, prepackaged blueberry muffins. - fresh fruit: apples, clementines, bananas, blueberries - others: yogurt, oatmeal, 3 types of cereals, peanut butter, jellies, chocolate chips, butter - drinks: coffee, milk, non-dairy milk, OJ, apple juice.
