Rusty door frames

Room cleanliness and update I was very pleased with the customer service of the staff. They were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The lobby and breakfast was excellent. My father is disabled and the staff was very helpful. However the 1st floor rooms were awful The smell was horrible, room 107the sheets had not been changed, the bathroom though clean, was falling apart. my mothers 103 which was a handicap accessible room had the same smell the bathroom light over the mirror was out. The rooms were not adequately cleaned as I went over the room with a Lysol wipe the surfaces were filthy. There was a shoe left by previous guests in the room and I had to spray Lysol on the beds to remove the smell! I did let the staff know about the conditions of the rooms and was informed that the hotel is up for renovation. I was quite disappointed. Being a Bonvoy member I will not be using the Fairfield Marriott Nachitoches again.

As dark as it gets

I believe it's time for upgrades or at least some maintenance. The room I was assigned had only one side of the shade. I asked for another room and was told they had no others. I was given "bonus points" but those will not help me sleep. I need darknless. we will see how this goes. it looks like the second floor room above me had a leak, and while I'm no carpenter I believe I could've done a better job. The shower drain also seems to be uphill from the rest of the floor.

Bed Sheets

Great location - accessible to fast food restaurants and gas stations. The front desk staff was nice. The lobby area was clean. That's all for the positive stuff. The room was dusty and furniture was outdated. The bed sheets were dirty with stains. Shower curtain had dirty finger print stains on it. I went downstairs to notify the front desk and she only offered to notify her supervisor. She gave me clean new sheets to make the bed up again. We stayed on the second floor so we could hear all the running and noises from the 3rd floor all night.

We made reservations here because it was in close proximity to downtown Nachitoches, pronounced (Nak a tish) and because it was fairly new. The room is very nice, the bed is a little hard and the pillow selection is a little sparse. The breakfast was horrible. The bacon was half cooked, the eggs were okay, the coffee and juice were really weak and watery. We just decided we would get breakfast somewhere else. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The parking lot was a nice size and well lit. We would stay here again if in the area again.

Breakfast!

Keep driving past all the chain hotels/motels by the interstate and pick a place closer to the main strip of shops and restaurants. We were personally greeted by the owners upon arrival. For the first time EVER staying at a B&B, we were allowed to select our rooms from the ones available by visiting each open room. We've probably stayed at 15 B&Bs and nobody has ever let us snoop into all the open rooms (they're usually locked). The owner visited with us on the back screened-in porch for a few minutes before letting us get settled in. The rooms are all tastefully decorated in shabby chic decor with crisp white spreads and linens. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower stall and basket full of fresh, white towels. The bed was SUPER comfortable and we had the best night's sleep of our entire 8-day trip. Breakfast was served promptly at 8:30 am and the owner sat down to enjoy the meal with us. We really enjoyed hearing stories and getting a bit of local culture - it's the best part of traveling. If we're ever in the area again (and we hope to be sometime soon), we'll come back to the Creole Cottage. This would be a great place for several couples to stay and have some privacy but also access to the common areas (dining room and back porch where they stock a mini-fridge with bottled water). The folks at the Creole Cottage treated us like family, and we felt like we'd walked into the pages of Southern Living magazine. Hint: be sure to try the "mayhaw" jelly - it's a local favorite and delicious! We had it on buttered biscuits along with eggs, thick cut bacon, grits, fresh fruit and hot coffee. Perfection!

By good fortune, we booked Creole Cottage on Cane river in walking distance to good food and live music. As an Innkeeper myself, I know a 5 star when I see one and this one earns every star from minute of arrival until your reluctant departure.Warm southern hospitality, immaculate and cozy quarters with a delicious breakfast each day seems to be the norm there. We loved it. The icing on the cake was the innkeeper's "tribal knowledge" of food venues and local sites. Natchitoches is a must go and Creole Cottage is a must stay!

Looks can definitely be deceiving. When we first arrived, I thought, "What a cute little hotel!" on…read morethe outside. Unfortunately, that impression vanished the moment we checked in. After our experience, I'm honestly not surprised by the terrible reviews on here. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We stayed for just one night in 2022 on our way to New Orleans, and it remains the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Check-in was fine, but when we got to our room, we pulled back the blankets and found Cheetos dust and what appeared to be pubic hair in the bed. Completely unacceptable. It was clear they didn't change the bedding after the last guests. After we complained, someone came up to change the bedding but it took a couple of hours which caused us being delayed at exploring the very cute and charming city. She was on her phone the entire time, dressed in what looked like pajamas, and didn't greet or acknowledge us once. She just changed the sheets while chatting on her phone which was beyond unprofessional. Later that evening, we went down to the bar, where the bartender actually got MAD at me for asking for a clean wine glass after handing me one with lipstick prints still on it. The attitude alone was enough to make me want to leave right then. He was severely dramatic in dealing with it. On top of all that, the bed was uncomfortable and bouncy, the room smelled strongly of mildew, and the entire stay just felt grimy and unpleasant. I still think about how miserable that night was ... it honestly gave "never again" energy. A lot more happened during that one-night stay, but honestly, I'll leave it at that. I can't say for sure because I had no proof, but I felt like we were being watched all night, and between that and the bed, I barely got a wink of sleep. To make matters worse, the hotel staff was impossible to reason with when we tried to address our concerns while there and tried to call us liars about the dirty bed even though there was visual proof... Checking out was somehow even worse. We'll never go back. Gross.

All through the hallways it had smelled like people were smoking in every room. If you don't like the smell of smoke or you don't want to inhale all that smoke I wouldn't recommend it. We didn't really care about the place because it was almost midnight and just wanted to sleep so we payed down but our beds had a green fleece blanket over them. So for the people that don't like fleece I wouldn't recommend this. The tv worked fine and the ac was good but when we got in the room the ac was off so it was super hot. The bathrooms were decent not clean but they worked. And finally the doors. They were pretty old and I'm surprised the locks even worked. The bathroom lock was really crusty and rusty so it was hard to lock. Our front door lock worked fine and it had a working microwave, a fridge, there was no safe but there was a dresser with drawers, the tv worked, and the sink, toilet, and shower worked. Overall I gave this 3 stars but I would not recommend it for certain groups.

Super 8 charged us $93.60 for room, & $78.60 for taxes & fees. After considerable arguing, calls to bank & threatening a lawyer, Super 8 reversed the $93.60 for the room, but only $48.87 for taxes & fees. So they ended up charging $26.13 for taxes & fees. Even though Expedia said all taxes & fees were included in the amount paid to them. I called Expedia. They are looking into it. Room was clean except corners of floor in bathroom was filthy. We'll NEVER stay there again & recommend no one book there! Expedia said it appears that Super 8 in Natchitoches is not following their contract.
