If you need a clean place to stay away from Natchitoches Downtown that is convenient to the interstate, Fairfield may be right for you. I travel a lot for work, including numerous in-state travel days a year. I often find myself in this class of hotel since only larger cities have higher tier hotels. My requirements for hotels in this tier are that they are clean, quiet, have friendly staff, and are convenient to the highway. A decent free breakfast is lagniappe. This location hits most of those pretty solidly. I arrived late in the afternoon and had to leave pretty early, so my stay was limited. My room was large and comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, minus flat pillows (why oh why do hotels have trash pillows). The staff was friendly, although my interaction was limited to check in. The room was a little louder than I am accustomed to, but it was a first floor, parking lot adjacent room, which may have been to blame. I slept well, and the breakfast was decent, but since it was free, it added a couple of points. If you are looking for this type of hotel along your journey, this is a good place to pick. read more

Fairfield Inn & Suites was the perfect place to stay for a 1 night stay. Upon arrival we were greeted with a nice "welcome" bag with 1 bottle of water, and a few different choice of snacks which were perfect for a late night snack. Our room was on the 1st floor, which is usually a problem as we don't like to hear people walking above us but the ceiling was really high and we did NOT hear any noise. The bathroom in our room had a nice large walk in shower. There was a pony wall separating the toilet and the sink area. The room was nice and cool as we were able to set the temperature in the room down to 62F, perfect for sleeping. Parking is free and they have a large lot. Free breakfast in the morning with scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt etc. This hotel is older and in need of some repairs but overall I do recommend it. read more

Room cleanliness and update I was very pleased with the customer service of the staff. They were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The lobby and breakfast was excellent. My father is disabled and the staff was very helpful. However the 1st floor rooms were awful The smell was horrible, room 107the sheets had not been changed, the bathroom though clean, was falling apart. my mothers 103 which was a handicap accessible room had the same smell the bathroom light over the mirror was out. The rooms were not adequately cleaned as I went over the room with a Lysol wipe the surfaces were filthy. There was a shoe left by previous guests in the room and I had to spray Lysol on the beds to remove the smell! I did let the staff know about the conditions of the rooms and was informed that the hotel is up for renovation. I was quite disappointed. Being a Bonvoy member I will not be using the Fairfield Marriott Nachitoches again. read more

I believe it's time for upgrades or at least some maintenance. The room I was assigned had only one side of the shade. I asked for another room and was told they had no others. I was given "bonus points" but those will not help me sleep. I need darknless. we will see how this goes. it looks like the second floor room above me had a leak, and while I'm no carpenter I believe I could've done a better job. The shower drain also seems to be uphill from the rest of the floor. read more

Do not stay here!!! I spent the night here recently, and there are so many problems with this hotel!!! I won't bore you with LONG list of problems, but I'll give you just a SAMPLE of the issues: 2 of the luggage carts did not work, because they had a flat tire and broken wheel. Mediocre hotel. Three nights of no Netflix or Amazon because it wasn't working. I felt like we should've received a discount but we didn't. Extremely loud one morning at 7 AM. Well they had two bus loads of high school students. They had put us in the very first room, which I was surprised, judging that we are senior citizens. It was very loud in that room. Allergy sufferers read this. This is a pet free hotel! That is becoming a rare commodity. Less than a mile away is the Hampton Inn. I am a lifetime Hilton Diamond member. I stayed at that Hampton Inn more nights than I can remember. Now they are pet friendly. So I switched to the Marriott Fairfield Inn. It's a newer hotel. The physical plant is nicer. And, they have pet free rooms. So it is far healthier. This is my new go to hotel when I have to stay in Natchitoches. read more

The room was clean. There is a Wendy's (don't eat there), Popeye's and a gas station next to the hotel. Breakfast is a warm Jimmy Dean sausage biscuit, OJ, cereal, cold hard boiled eggs and a few other items. The toilet seat was so loose in our room we almost fell off. This was our first time in the charming town of Natchitoches, LA. It was kind of a last-minute decision for us to travel there. I normally stay at Hilton properties, but there wasn't one that had decent reviews. The next best thing was the Fairfield Inn. I was thankful that they had availability for the 4th of July weekend. Yup, I was that person that booked the day before. I was able to get their largest room that had the separate living room space and 2 TVs. My daughter always needs her own space and her own TV. From the moment I checked in to the moment we left, the customer service was excellent. The sweet lady who helped with check-in, I think her name was Yumike (sp?), was so great! Southern hospitality at its finest. She really wanted to make sure every bit of our stay was going to be wonderful. Our room was ready right away, so I got keys and we immediately brought our things up. The room was clean, there was a mini fridge and a microwave. I liked the layout of the restroom (not too cramped like many I've seen before). Beds were super comfortable, but I wish there were more firm pillows. I liked the separate living room area, but I wish there would have been partition for privacy from the living room area (you'd understand if you had kiddos). When we had both TVs' on, the sounds were competing. Because of COVID, they did not have their typical breakfast in the AM, but had bags of cereal, muffin and fruit + choices of coffee, milk and juice. The pool was rather small, but that didn't concern us much because we weren't there to use the pool. It was also less than 10 minutes away from the charming downtown area and just off the interstate. There were some restaurants and fast food spots walking distance from the hotel. Parking was free and easy, too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would consider staying again. read more

Great location - accessible to fast food restaurants and gas stations. The front desk staff was nice. The lobby area was clean. That's all for the positive stuff. The room was dusty and furniture was outdated. The bed sheets were dirty with stains. Shower curtain had dirty finger print stains on it. I went downstairs to notify the front desk and she only offered to notify her supervisor. She gave me clean new sheets to make the bed up again. We stayed on the second floor so we could hear all the running and noises from the 3rd floor all night. read more

We made reservations here because it was in close proximity to downtown Nachitoches, pronounced (Nak a tish) and because it was fairly new. The room is very nice, the bed is a little hard and the pillow selection is a little sparse. The breakfast was horrible. The bacon was half cooked, the eggs were okay, the coffee and juice were really weak and watery. We just decided we would get breakfast somewhere else. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The parking lot was a nice size and well lit. We would stay here again if in the area again. read more

Reserved two rooms that were guaranteed to be adjoined or at least nearby each other. Arrived on check-in date at 4:15pm. Rooms were not ready. Rooms were not together, they weren't even on the same floor. Staff continued to blame it on the "girl before". The next day, went to breakfast and return to room and keys do not work. I go downstairs to have them reactivated and manager is at the desk. I tell her all the issues we have had from the beginning. Attitude given was basically an 'oh well' attitude. Wouldn't recommend this place again based solely on staff at front desk and manager. Housekeeping staff very friendly. read more

OK horrible customer service and they don't care. We stayed there from Wednesday to the following Monday. They made the bed once. They never emptied trash cans. We got fresh towels once. We alerted the front desk each day, and they get the Oscar for acting like they cared, but room still didn't get cleaned and we still didn't get towels. I could be more elaborate but what I've written should cover it. The staff is to be socializing with each other to be bothered, from the joke of a Breakfast to the pool ony employees family's were allowed to use, to smoking in thr elevator. If the franchise owner doesn't come visit this place secretly or have somebody do that they obviously don't care about their money or how they treat people the fact that this place carries a Marriott name is a disgrace. read more

This is one of the cleanest properties we have ever been to and they have a great breakfast too! We have been staying at this property since 2016, and they just keep getting better. The staff is GREAT! The GM (Ms. Pat) and Front Desk Manager (Ms Kim) keep the place running smoothly. Be sure to ask for Ms Carrie if you want a good conversation. For the Fairfield/Marriott chain this is a total 5 star. -Location was easy and right off the highway. Close to the down town area and college as well -The French Market was right across the parking lot (in the gas station, odd I know). The food wasn't mind blowing but a solid choice in a pinch. The gas station store also had a really good selection of supplies drink and snack wise. - My room was great. A large king with a separate living room area which included a small wrap around couch, coffee table and tv with work station. This is in addition the the main bedroom area that also had a TV. It was excessive to have 2 televisions no more than 3 yards from each other but we totally used them. - My favorite part of all- BREAKFAST was INCLUDED! Pretty much everything you could think of: ***eggs (scrambled/hard boiled) ***toast, bagels, muffins ***sausage & bacon ***cereal (cold & hot) ***waffles ***fruit and yogurt ***and of course, COFFEE Everyone on the morning crew was super nice and made it a point to greet everyone and engage in some polite conversation. I've stayed at this hotel 3+ times & it has become my go to when visiting Natchitoches. Always clean, breakfast has been good, coffee fresh. I especially like that they really listen to what type of room I want. This last time, I specifically requested 1st floor, near the laundry, with a tub & got exactly that. Employees are all friendly. Only thing I don't like is the "no pets" policy. Would love to be able to bring my dog for a visit. read more

Stayed here for two days. Fairly easy access to I-49. Personnel were friendly. The rooms seem like they were decorated from Goodwill. Furniture is not comfortable at all. I think they attract mostly college students and it is geared for them. The price is reasonable for the area and parking is adequate. Several places to eat nearby. read more

I was booked at this hotel for the Christmas light show on the river when my mom fell suddenly ill and was in intensive care. Due to the sudden issue and severity of the illness, I failed to cancel my reservation in the timely manner set forth by the hotel. I called immediately that same evening and cancelled the reservation knowing that this is a busy time of year and they could re-book the rooms with no problem. I was advised to call the following Monday for my refund. I called and spoke to the manager, Patricia, who was extremely rude and would not explore any option to refund or give credit for the rooms. According to the Marriott web site, they live by the Golden Rule. "You're our #1 priority. We promise you'll be satisfied or we'll make it right. That's our commitment to you." It was not made right and on top of an already stressful holiday season, it made it worse. I would not recommend this hotel or the staff for a stay. If you want good customer service, I would go elsewhere. read more

I had a really good stay at this location as the facility is relatively new and the staff was extremely cordial. I wish the location was a tad bit closer the center of town, but Natchitoches is such a small area that it takes no time to navigate to the tourist areas. The room had a modern look and I never felt cramped for space. I will probably never come to this location again as this was a work trip, but I will definitely recommend it to others who may visit the area. read more

Stayed at this property for 3 nights for a wedding. The room and property were clean and the breakfast was your standard continental fare. The front desk staff was helpful and kind. The main issue for me was the lighting in the rooms. It's very stark, classroom-like/institutional lighting and impossible to put on makeup or get any kind of natural light in the room. A simple switch of changing the light bulbs to soft light instead of the white light/day light bulbs would be an amazing transformation. A great perk of the property is that it offers one washer and one dryer complementary for guests. There is a sign in the laundry room that says each cycle is 40 minutes long which is NOT the case. It took at minimum an hour for the washer to run which makes a difference when its late at night and you're waiting on laundry. Additionally, it would be great to have a vending machine that sold detergent and dryer sheets for the washer and dryer. read more
