The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. They even upgraded our room to a big suite But unfortunately, the bed was horrible! The mattress sank towards the middle, made noise and I could tell it was just old & WORN OUT! The shower splashed water all over the bathroom since there's nothing to stop the water at the bottom. This is a slipping hazard that I think should be corrected. No matter how much we tried to control the air conditioner the temperature remain freezing throughout the whole stay. This is better than staying hot, but still uncomfortable. I think this hotel stays booked because of its location, not because of its comfort.

Dirty window

Great location but was expensive for the quality of the room. The windows were so dirty you couldn't see out of them. The chair was extremely worn and tattered. The door jam was missing the strike plate Maintenance needs to improve. Check in was easy and the staff was courteous. The power went out early the morning we left but they managed to serve a hot breakfast of grits, eggs and sausage. There was no emergency back up lighting and we had to use the light on our phones to walk down the stairs as we were on the 4th floor.

Was looking forward to staying in Chateau St Denis, love the old charm. My room was booked as Deluxe with HISTORIC VIEW.Enclosed photo of historic view,a couple of dumpsters, parking lot ,alleyway and backs of buildings.I brought this to the attention of the desk clerk. She was very nice but told me that 318 was an historic view and she didn't have any clean rooms to change rooms.Coffee service in room had no sugar ,creamer or stirrers or napkins. The bed is hard as a rock(I could live with that) and I'll have to pull a chair up to the bed to get in.

Keycard

Beautiful and Clean. Employee's not very helpful. Was with my MIL and carrying both of our luggage and got on the elevator with 2 employees, one was a man who even got off on the same floor as our room with us and never offered to help carry our luggage even tho I was quite obviously struggling to carry it all. The floor of our room was sticky from too much soap. The desk clerks were more interested in what was on their phones than the lobby full of guests trying to check in. A bottle of Dasani was $5. And at breakfast they ran out of food before everyone was served. I might add that the hotel was pretty booked for our event of over 200 ppl and they knew we were coming a year in advance. Not prepared at all!

Keep driving past all the chain hotels/motels by the interstate and pick a place closer to the main strip of shops and restaurants. We were personally greeted by the owners upon arrival. For the first time EVER staying at a B&B, we were allowed to select our rooms from the ones available by visiting each open room. We've probably stayed at 15 B&Bs and nobody has ever let us snoop into all the open rooms (they're usually locked). The owner visited with us on the back screened-in porch for a few minutes before letting us get settled in. The rooms are all tastefully decorated in shabby chic decor with crisp white spreads and linens. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower stall and basket full of fresh, white towels. The bed was SUPER comfortable and we had the best night's sleep of our entire 8-day trip. Breakfast was served promptly at 8:30 am and the owner sat down to enjoy the meal with us. We really enjoyed hearing stories and getting a bit of local culture - it's the best part of traveling. If we're ever in the area again (and we hope to be sometime soon), we'll come back to the Creole Cottage. This would be a great place for several couples to stay and have some privacy but also access to the common areas (dining room and back porch where they stock a mini-fridge with bottled water). The folks at the Creole Cottage treated us like family, and we felt like we'd walked into the pages of Southern Living magazine. Hint: be sure to try the "mayhaw" jelly - it's a local favorite and delicious! We had it on buttered biscuits along with eggs, thick cut bacon, grits, fresh fruit and hot coffee. Perfection!

By good fortune, we booked Creole Cottage on Cane river in walking distance to good food and live music. As an Innkeeper myself, I know a 5 star when I see one and this one earns every star from minute of arrival until your reluctant departure.Warm southern hospitality, immaculate and cozy quarters with a delicious breakfast each day seems to be the norm there. We loved it. The icing on the cake was the innkeeper's "tribal knowledge" of food venues and local sites. Natchitoches is a must go and Creole Cottage is a must stay!

Super 8 charged us $93.60 for room, & $78.60 for taxes & fees. After considerable arguing, calls to bank & threatening a lawyer, Super 8 reversed the $93.60 for the room, but only $48.87 for taxes & fees. So they ended up charging $26.13 for taxes & fees. Even though Expedia said all taxes & fees were included in the amount paid to them. I called Expedia. They are looking into it. Room was clean except corners of floor in bathroom was filthy. We'll NEVER stay there again & recommend no one book there! Expedia said it appears that Super 8 in Natchitoches is not following their contract.

I want to echo the 2020 review about smelling like smoke…read more I had a non-smoking room. It smelled like smoke IN my room. It also smelled like smoke in the hallways, when i was bringing my suitcase in. I am a non-smoker. It was very, annoying. I booked this room through an online third party platform. My reservation was not able to be found right away, then we had an issue with the card on file when it was found. After the process was completed and I checked my bank account. I had SEVEN pending charges for $50 dollars each. Yes they are pending, and i was told they would fall off at check out - but if i hadnt had over that amoumt of $350 it is possible my bank may have declined a charge for dinner..... The bed was not very comfortable. They had almost a wool textured blanket. In the bathroom, paint was peeling in several areas. My faucet leaked when the water was turned on, and not a small drip it would basically dish out more water from the rear of the handle than it would into the sink. There was also an electrical socket in the bathroom with no protective plate.
