In my experience, their drivers typically check inside vehicles with a flashlight before towing, but that procedure either was not followed in this case or was overlooked. Unfortunately, it was more like an opportunistic tow during the Memorial Day weekend. When I contacted the company, we were informed--just before retrieving the truck--that the cost would be $375.00. The representative admitted that the permit was visible the following morning, but claimed it could not be seen at night because the windows were tinted. That explanation simply does not hold up. I personally tested visibility by placing the permit back on the floor and using a low-powered flashlight, and the permit was still clearly visible through the window. Overall, this experience was a complete ripoff. I see why they have complaints, particularly around overcharging and unfair practices.

It's to no surprise…read more However, my 5 stars are ONLY for the tow driver who worked at the location on Tuesday 03/03/2026 between 5-7pm. He was absolutely GREAT! He made us feel safe and he was working hard around the facilities. He was very kind and sweet. We had to pick up a vehicle from here. Note that they tact on 3% fee when paying by credit card even if 95% Of the payment is in cash. They still tact on 3% of the TOTAL fee of what WAS owed. Van Lingen also charges you a $70 fee in order to release your car. That fee is an additional fee that they are selling your car at the exact 30 days it has been in their possession. Like I said .... This is one of the most hated places in the South Bay.
