I went to budget breaks for repair and they charged me double for what another company had priced me me for. I went to budget breaks because they were down the street from me and the other company was a distant out my way. On top of that my breaks still making noise. I will never go there again nor refer anyone to them. I am a black woman and they took advantage of me after my car was in the air with parts removed. Never again . I told them I only had a certain amount which was the amount from the other company. So they only did half the job to get me to come back for more money. These guys are the devil from hell. Subaru Outback AWD alignment at the Mobile Hwy location. They work first come, first serve & don't schedule appointments, but there's no wait if you get there at opening (7:30am). Got a four-wheel alignment for $75 ($60 + 17% alignment check & shop supplies fee + tax) which is probably the best deal in town. No bait & switch tactics many repair shops use to jack up the price. I can't speak for their primary brake service, but I recommend this specific shop for wheel alignments. read more

This place seems like a great value for the money, and the workers were very friendly and helpful. They don't have a key for lug nut locks, though, so keep that in mind. My brakes were staring to squeal, and stutter. I went here because it was a free inspection, and I made an appointment for the next day. Downside: I showed up on time and had to wait about an hour and a half for them to even start looking at my truck. Upside: they gave me an estimate, of almost $1000. I explained (as I did when I first dropped off my truck) that I was light on funds and had Xxx amount to spend on the brakes, and asked where I should put it towards. I do believe that they gave me a great deal, fixing the most important stuff, at a discount. It definitely fixed the issues I had. 5 stars because the upside way outweighed the downside, in the financial position I was in at the time. One improvement I'd make is not advertising $89 per axle for brake pads, as once you add labor it's obviously more than that. Also if there is an appointment, to save one of the spots for the scheduled appointment. read more

Ok so I went to this place and corey was on top of his game. Super cool guy new all the answers to my questions. I went in looking to replace two rotors. Well i got all 4 and new pads and calipers. Yeah more than what i wanted. However it was necessary he showed me everything. Advised me to call around and check for parts and the whole 9. Traveling cross country when my 93 Jeep Wrangler developed a severe fluid leak. Called budget brakes to see if they could take care of this repair that day. Saturday 13 March. Arrived about 1:30PM. They inspected the vehicle and identified the broken line and also recommended that the other front brake line that was equally rusty be replaced also. Agreed that this made sense and they gave me a quote of $430. They did not provide a detailed estimate i.e. X hours X LABOR COST JUST THAT EACH LINE WAS $200. Seemed a little high but I needed the repair that day so I agreed. I asked it they were going to replace the entire line and the brake tech stated not totally one line he planned to splice. This made no sense because the problem was the lines were old and rusty and needed to be replaced completely. After getting the manager involved we agreed both lines would be replaced. 2.5 hours later I picked up the vehicle paid the bill and departed. In less than 2 miles the rubber brake hose that connects to the front right caliper burst due to rubbing against the wheel or brake rotor resulting in a near total loss of braking ability. Immediately returned to budget brakes and watched as the tech opened the hood and clearly saw both rubber hoses were hanging loosely without being secured to the frame. The technician stated that the slots where the hoses should have been secured were rusted and unuseable. He knew these rubber, easily damaged hoses were not properly secured and did nothing and said nothing about them. Again the manager got involved agreed that this was the cause of the brake loss and obviously unacceptable and he drilled two holes in a few minutes to allow the technician to properly secure the rubber hoses and after an hour or so I got my vehicle back and departed. Dark and raining at this time so I waited until the next AM to thoroughly inspect the repair and found numerous additional issues with their workmanship. The new lines only vaguely followed the original routing. Both lines had considerable movement due to incorrectly securing the lines to the frame. When I brought the vehicle to another repair facility that corrected the routing and fastening problems and stated the original repair was unprofessional and inadequate. read more

Extremely disappointed with my experience at Budget Brakes. I came in wanting to have my brakes replaced and was told they give a lifetime warranty on their work starting off at only $89.00. I went in with such a positive attitude and excited to have work done on my vehicle at a great rate. Slowly the Assistant Manager started telling me that there was problem after problem with my vehicle and that I would need a new battery, rotors, and break pads for my vehicle to run properly. The cost for the work was going to be $780.00 but he was going to give me "a deal" and charge me only $700.00. I ended up paying the $700.00 cash and had the work done. The next day I had a few errands to run, but wasn't able to do so because my car would not start. I took it into another mechanic, who had informed me that I would need to get a new battery, because the it was old and rusty. Long story short it turns out Budget Brakes gave me a used battery with no life and took my old battery (probably to do the same thing to another consumer). My advice, stay away! Yesterday I had the breaks/rotor checked to see if that work had actually been done. Two break pads were missing so I had to purchase those along with the labor. I'm fortunate that the only positive experience I had with Budget Breaks is that I will no longer be giving them my business, but have found a great mechanic (Professional Automotive). read more

These guys made up a lie that I removed my own axle nuts after I left their shop and drove 300 miles and came back. They said I removed my axle nuts AFTER they did my brakes but then mysteriously replaced the axle nuts within ten minutes of me returning. They lied and said they bought the axles nuts at the parts store down the street so I went to the parts store and asked if they could sell me some axle nuts for my car and they said they could order them but they werent in stock. Way more than that occurred but I dont have time to write about this TERRIBLE company. I wrote and complained to their main office TWICE and never received a call or email back and my brakes are still screwed up, dont waste your money or three days like I did! read more

Had the back brake pads (disc) replaced. Also observed the rotors and they did not seem to need replaced so I had opted not to replace them. Upon leaving their shop after about a 2 minute test drive by the technician, I was heading down the road. Stopped at a store about 5 miles away and smoke was billowing out of the rear wheel wells. Called them and he said to get it back to the shop. Made it there, luckily it was a torrential downpour, so the wet roads helped keep the brakes somewhat cooler. Cory, the shop manager insisted they were locked up....I insisted they were binding (otherwise how would the vehicle have been driven in there). Needless to say,he and i did not see eye to eye. The tech had messed up the calipers when compressing the piston. Cory refused to fix the issue and sent me with my binding brakes down the road in a down pour. I did make it to another shop.......new calipers installed and the vehicle is working great. I did contact customer service and did get a full refund on the pads being replaced, however, in a downpour at 4;30 in a darkening afternoon with binding brakes is not something anyone with a customer focus should ever do. Cory had refused to fix the problem even after asking PLEASE several times. Heartless is about as lose as i can describe this shop manager demanding that this review be taken down. UPDATE: at 2:59p Wed. 12/14/16, Cory calls me demanding that this review be taken down Claimed it is a lie. Ask him if he sent me away in an unsafe vehicle. read more
