Long review ahead:…read more We needed our two out of three of our internally fogged up double-paned patio glass replaced and to have the door track replaced/repaired. We contacted three local companies for estimates. One said they likely couldn't get to it for a looooong time (lots of new construction/storm repair going on in our region) and wouldn't even come here for an estimate. One eventually came out and estimated it would cost $7,500. Yikes! I suspect they were going to replace the entire patio frame holding 2 windows and the sliding door (three double-panes and the surrounding frame). Parts On Wheels came here the next day and estimated less than $2,500. There was a wait time for the glass from them, too for the reasons listed above. When the glass was finally available, they contacted me several times to confirm the date of work. They (Donny) showed up on the early side of the estimated time of arrival and got to work. He disassembled the frames that held the fogged up glass and re-assembled them around the new glass. He put a stainless steel cap on our old aluminum track (that looked and acted like a roller coaster) for the sliding door. Donny went above and beyond the call of duty when he started scraping paint splatter (from a rather amateur house painting) from the window that did not need replacing. We are extremely happy to be able to see our back yard through the patio windows again. Great job, POW!

This business was highly unprofessional and the execution of getting my screens installed in my…read morehouse was poor. Originally we had scheduled a date of last week (Nov 28). Where I stated in the text confirmation (Nov 21) that I would not be home due to the fact of traveling for work and I would have a friend that would have to show up at the designated time. The technician showed up an hour early and did not send a text, email, or any form of communication so that I could notify my associate of the issues. Then the sizing for the screens were wrong so no actual work got done. After that they contacted me about rescheduling the appointment but I stated that I would rather have a refund due to the poor execution and inconsiderate timing of the technician without prior notification. I was then told that I could not get a refund due to the fact that the screens were already made... Which I then pointed out that the screens that were originally made were wrong and that I never confirmed the actual next appointment nor confirmed that I wanted them to proceed with their work till this conversation. The employee then stated "I will just have the owner call and deal with you"" which by then I felt was highly unprofessional and rude. About 10 to 15 mins later the owner calls and tries to remediate the situation but I stated how I felt his employee was rude for her prior comment and I just want my refund so I can take my business else where. He then proceeds to say, "I mean I can give you a refund. I am not worried about that little amount of money." This was the owner of the business and his employees that talked to a customer like this and with that being the case... I will never work with this company again.

To repair damage from Hurricane Michael, I enlisted Area Glass to replace the glass in five windows…read moreat my home. They gave a 6-10 week lead time for the work to be done, so definitely not a quick process.  After seven weeks, they finally committed to an installation date, but on the day of the installation, they informed me that four of the five window panes could not be installed because they were incorrect sizes. The exact reason for this wasn't very clearly explained, but the fault seemed to be shared by Area Glass and its supplier. Because I was in the process of selling this home, Area Glass's mistake and the resulting delay was very consequential for me, but after informing me of their error, they exhibited no urgency in correcting the issue. They offered a lot of apologies, but it took a great deal of prodding to get them to expedite the process of correcting their mistake. Their agreement said they had 10 weeks to complete the work and that's all they cared about. Ultimately, Area Glass took two months to complete their work and, despite all that time, they screwed up one of the most fundamental parts of the project - ensuring glass of the right size was ordered and delivered.  It's unfortunate we victims of Hurricane Michael are at the mercy of contractors like Area Glass who lack the empathy and willingness to provide high quality service or work.
