He can often diagnose problems over the phone and even diagnosed a problem I didn't even know I had once by smell (saving me some money). He's a former Subaru tech and knows them inside-and-out, but he works on any car and his lot is full of all makes. He has offered a loaner car and has helped shuttle me when he's had to keep my car longer than expected. I only give him 4 stars since his shop is a bit difficult to find (next to an ice shop) and a little grimey, but don't let that deter you.

A professional mechanic would have looked into the problem the customer brings back to him. This man is not a reasonable person. Beware all. His practices lately with automotive work has been sketchy and he has deceptive ways of paying for service. He prefers to be paid in cash. He doesn't like to print you a receipt. Does that raise a red flag in your eyes? It did with me. IRS anyone? He talks excessively and doesn't complete work promised on time. The place looks dark, dirty and disorganized. He looks to be having difficulty with his knees and back, maybe he is unable to perform this kind of work anymore? I will not be returning to this place and suggest you stay away also.

Ken is the man!…read more While at another well-known tire store, I was informed after a tire rotation, that my rear breaks were at 3mm and needed work. I was quoted $399. Something didn't feel right, so I contacted Ken at Safe Auto Service and made an appointment. I brought the car to Safe Auto. They did a test drive and pulled the wheels apart for inspection. Ken informed me my brake pads were good and did NOT need service. He could have just as easily confirmed I needed work and charged me. An HONEST man! I now have a new repair shop going forward.

My first delt with a repair in relation to a loud noise from what I was explained was a bearing issue in the rear. Along with a new alignment and other services, the repairs were made at a very high cost. There was no noice and the car was in good shape. In a few months, the same exact noise returned. I returned it to Saf T Auto only to discover that the caliper was "frozen" and I needed more repairs that would cost $1,300 +. It was explained that the bearing was not the issue this time around. It was the caliper. I decided that alone should be fixed because I simply could not afford to pay the larger cost. I was assured the caliper replacement would fix the issue with the noise. After the repairs, I picked up my vehicle and drove off and immediately my alert AWD light came on. I returned back to the Saf T Auto where they fixed the alert light. After traveling less than two minutes, the same exact noise that was the issue to begin with returned. I contacted Neil. He said that the bearings will have to be changed after all. I refused to pay for additional services because the part was under warranty by Saf T Auto. Neil concede that it was and explained that it will be fixed at all cost in three more days. What troubled me the most was that the underlined issue of the noise conming from the rear was never repaired after I was assured that the caliper was the issue. And to insinuate that the bearings needed to be changed at an additional cost intially then to confirm that they were under warranty after I refused to pay the cost is severely suspect. No apologies we're given. No "we will repair as soon as possible." I was told it was safe to drive around with damaged bearings. Somehow, I believe that is not an accurate statement. I'd give no stars if I could to reflect this second visit.

That is the first positive then he gets out and he is a 21 year-old young man that has knowledge beyond his years within five minutes. He diagnosed the problem when I thought that I was gonna have to make another appointment for him to come back and he said no, I'm gonna fix it right now which totally took me back. I was like wonderful so let me explain. I have a 2010 Nissan Altima beautiful vehicle the problem that he diagnosed was a swaybar. He got right to work went and picked up. The part came back. Fix my vehicle the whole thing from starting to finish was roughly 2 hours. He made sure he took it for a test drive then he made me get it with him and we went for a test drive.
