After she passed away, and the grieving was not so raw, we adopted a mini schnauzer from a rescue. This dog is the exact opposite of our docile Allie. He didn't have a very good life before we got him and that left him with some issues. But the staff understands and they have helped us a lot with working through those. He goes in from grooming and Leslie always does a great job with him. She 'gets' him. When we first started taking him there, I couldn't get him out of the car. He was terrified. I went inside and Wanda came out and coaxed him out of the car. Had to do that a couple times, but now he jumps out, pees on the plants and saunters in the door like he owns the joint. When dropping him off I told the person at the counter not to shave him totally and the girl looked at my friends account on the computer and told me that she understood because there were notes saying how to clip him. My friend came at 4:30 to pick up her dog and was told they hadn't started working on him yet! She waited 30 minutes until they were done. When they brought him out to go home it was a real chop job, the ridges from the clipper were visible from the side it was obvious that certain areas were shaved unevenly. The hair on the head and around the ears was chopped with no attention to detail. She was shocked and spoke to the owner about how awful the job was and asked for a partial refund, at least for the tip given. The owner said she would get back to her and never did. I have clipped and shaved my own dogs at home and know I could've done a better job!

After we talked to Bill on the phone we enrolled Teddy in the six week obedience training course. And what a blessing! We found their prices very reasonable and the training was excellent. Have you ever had something happen with a pup and you are completely lost on what to do? Well…read morethat's what happened with us and we are sooooo thankful for Mike at Anytime Dog Training!! Our 5 month old male pittie mix bit our son requiring a trip to the pediatrician and 2 fur parents who have dogs all their lives with no clue what to do with the pup. We didn't want to give him away, we contacted the rescue we got him from who said they'd probably put him down, so I started reaching out to trainers for help. The email I sent Anytime Dog Training probably made me sound like a crazy person just overreacting, but I was anxious and overwhelmed, and Mike reached out on the day they received the email (the day they were closed btw) to find out what was going on and were able to come over the next day for a consult. We felt immediately better after meeting Mike and his wife and knew we had picked the right place. We dropped our pup Loki off for a 3 week board and train for behavioral modification and knew he'd be ok. The facility was clean and well-maintained, nice and cool on one of the hottest days of the year so far. It's always scary leaving your baby for their first overnight stay away from home but Mike eased our nerves by sharing videos of Loki making new friends, putting in the training work, and how absolutely happy he was being there. Mike brought him to our home several times throughout the weeks for us to train with Loki as a family for us to see how far he'd come in his training, along with getting our son comfortable with Loki again. I mean Loki loves Mike, and you've gotta be a pretty good guy to gain the love and respect from a big head bully pup! We could not be anymore impressed with Mike's skill and expertise with training our stubborn Loki, and answering all the questions and the fears from his mama lol. Teaching Loki to be a better version of his self was worth every penny we spent for the care and professionalism he received. Now that we know we've found the best, we will never board our Loki anywhere else. Plus definitely plan on sending him and his big sister Penny there for doggy daycare to play again soon!!

He had an awful experience with a groomer in the past so he tends to be an anxious guy. His last groom was extra special to me because he let them complete it and looked amazing! He also was the calmest I've seen him ever leave a groomer before. They also groomed my long haired cat! It was my first time trying it and she looks so nice! Her fur is extra soft too and I also loved that they work with cats but much like anxious dogs, told me they wouldn't push a cat's groom if they were too stressed about it. She also was absolutely fine coming home too. Just all around a wonderful place that I'm lucky to have near me! Some aren't so great, so you get what you pay for... SALTY PAWS is the best of all the worlds! Their prices are affordable, especially with everything included, AND they also take amazing care of my dogs. Seriously, every time they stay, they're so happy and well cared for when I picked them up. They are always clearly exhausted from playing all the time, and each time we go back, they run to the staff to give them love and head right back to the back. We've since moved from Sneads Ferry closer to Jacksonville, and I wouldn't even consider taking them somewhere else when we vacation. I'd drive an hour if I had to, just so I have piece of mind that they're in good hands while we're gone. p.s. I have a lab and a shiba inu. Everyone loves the lab, but very few people have ever really liked our shiba... except the staff at Salty Paws. Our little "cat dog" has actually made friends there. It's a miracle :)

Saying I was a MESS leaving her there was an understatement. I cried leaving her. The facility was beautiful, well kept, secure & the staff was friendly (again, just me being an over protective parent). I Bella stayed for 6 days. I received pictures of my baby and the staff was patient with me, when I'd call to check on her. Needless to say, I cried ALOT when I picked up my baby. She was happy to see me and she was fine. A lil confused, but she was fine and well cared for. I ended up using PAWVILLE a.few times while we were in Jacksonville. Fast forward 4 years & back in San Diego I recently rescued another dog & need to board him (here we go again). My thoughts, "its San Diego, this will be easy."
