My German has been going to Animal House for a while now both for boarding and grooming and if you know German Shepards they can be intimidating animals. Animal house staff have always taken great care of my baby both during is long stays and grooming sessions. Recently got him groomed for the first time this summer and had an incredible experience. Staff took great care of his undercoat along with being able to manage getting his nails trimmed which I know can be a task in itself. Very timely service dropped him off in the morning they had him finished and ready to go in just a few houses. read more

Good my dog loves it there. She was boarded 2 years ago while we.moved. she has done daycare 2 times a week for over a year She loves the bus and the driver. The bad I recently boarded her for a week and 2 days after she got home she went for her regular checkup and rabies shot. I was called and told she had hookworm She's now on medication Since they are highly contagious called to let Animal house know and they said sorry to hear that No no one else has reported hookworm. .My dog's only contact with other dogs is there. Plus I believe others should have been notified to.test their dogs.I do know from watching their camera that their kennels are washed down but in open social areas anything can happen. read more

I took my friend's dog here for a grooming appointment at 9:30, pick up window was set for 4:30-4:45. She has taken the dog to Animal House several times in the past. When dropping him off I told the person at the counter not to shave him totally and the girl looked at my friends account on the computer and told me that she understood because there were notes saying how to clip him. My friend came at 4:30 to pick up her dog and was told they hadn't started working on him yet! She waited 30 minutes until they were done. When they brought him out to go home it was a real chop job, the ridges from the clipper were visible from the side it was obvious that certain areas were shaved unevenly. The hair on the head and around the ears was chopped with no attention to detail. She was shocked and spoke to the owner about how awful the job was and asked for a partial refund, at least for the tip given. The owner said she would get back to her and never did. I have clipped and shaved my own dogs at home and know I could've done a better job! read more

My 2 dogs were boarded here for a week and was charged extra for them to feed one of my dogs his already pre-portioned food. Both dogs came back physically injured one with a completely raw nose and the other a extremely raw and torn up foot even though the staff allegedly does paw checks every day we were never notified and it was only mentioned after we noticed it at pickup (that dog has 0 history of chewing her feet). They also gave my dogs $170 impact bed to another dog who then completely destroyed it. All for the low low cost of $600. Animal house will never see a penny of my money again. Completely unprofessional I wouldn't trust them to watch a stuffed animal. read more

I have been a customer of the Animal House Grooming services through 4 dogs. I have been using their services for more than 15 years. Last year I was forced to sign a contract releasing the business of any liability/responsibility should my pets experience any kind of hurt or harm while in their care. I say forced because it was the only way I could KEEP my groomer! I have a wonderful relationship with my groomer of more than 15 years! The straw that broke the camel's back is our dogs are now required to have a bordetella vaccine whether they board or not. My dogs have never and will never be boarded! Neither have they contracted bordetella pertussis, in all those years. I will be looking to take my business elsewhere. I have not complained about price increases, which they have. I give a little room for that because of inflation. But the fact management is trying to be free of any and all liability while requiring customers to give their pets unneeded vaccines was the last straw. I imagine the business will see an exodus of more long term customers. read more

Love Animal House! Love the accommodations for our pups when they need a vacay from riding up/down I95 in the car. Love the attention heaped upon them. Really, really love our groomer. She's been taking care of our two rascals so long now, I can't remember... they always go in looking like little homeless, ruffians with coats too long and nails like a voo-doo queen... and voila, three hours later, they're ready to return home looking like AKC champions! We are confident in their care and appreciate every single staff member who helps make Animal House the premier business it is in Jacksonville. read more

I can never say enough good things about Animal House. I began taking my dog Kona there when she was still a puppy after my best friend took his dog there and loved it. Kona has been going to day camp for over two years now and she loves it! Every morning she waits by the door to get in the car and head there. At the end of the day she is so happy from playing with her friends, but also exhausted and sleeps all night. The staff is incredibly friendly and as per owners themselves, they take pride in treating every animal as family. I also love the events and parties they plan around holidays (some photos below). I feel comfortable boarding her when I leave town too as they have cameras you can watch and they provide a report card showing every time they plays, goes potty and eats. If you're looking for a place to take your animals, look no further! read more

Nice people, clean facility. They did a beautiful job on my dogs, especially my "problem child" who hates going to the groomer! I will be using them all the time from now on. read more

Always amazing. Always looking to help out a pet owner that is in need of some grooming help, or more. I truly love what they do for our old guy Caliber. They helped us kick fleas which were nearly impossible to rid him of. Wouldn't recommend a different place in Jacksonville! read more

I haven't been in Jacksonville for three years now. I wanted to say thank you to the staff at Animal House. It is hard to find people who treat every pet that comes in like their own family member. You guys always did a wonderful job with Gizzmo. I took it for granted. When I moved out to AZ with Gizz in tow I couldn't find a place that treated her with the care and respect that she deserved. Thank you so much for taking care of my baby for the 11 years we lived there. read more

Animal House - Jacksonville - Until we meet again my sweet girl. - Pet Groomers Near Me - Jacksonville, North Carolina

First off, I will just say after touring the facility the first time I knew I would never board my pup at Animal House. Don't let the front office fool you! The whole facility is not held to that standard. Just ask the front desk staff for a tour - they are free. I continued to take my pup to daycare a few times just to let him run & play with other pups. They say they have cameras for you to watch your pup play, but you have to get lucky to watch your pup play for the short 30 minutes they are in the video camera playpen. Who knows where they are the rest of the time. One time my dog didn't even come home tired from 'playing,' so it makes me wonder what he did all day. Our last visit was a grooming appointment that took EIGHT HOURS. They did not share this information with me when I dropped him off. I assumed that he would take 2-3 hours max. They said that they don't work on one dog at a time, they work on multiple at a time. I had to request a speedy pick-up in order for him to be the only one worked on at a time. My pup came home extremely stressed, I know this because I was up all night with him as he was sick. Not to mention, he got sick on himself so I had to give him another bath at 3am. Waste of money. The moral of the story, after all of these experiences my pup is happier not going to Animal House! read more

Our dog is an anxious guy and they are patient with him. They ease him in to playing with other dogs (he's an only child) and the staff loved in him too. Always comes home with a clean bed and happy. Love the cameras to keep an eye on our baby (lenses need cleaned on outdoor cameras. Lol) read more

Excellent grooming service! I've been taking my dog here for about a year now and love it. They do a great job and charge fairly. I usually get the furminator treatment because my dog sheds so much, but this time we switched to the igroom per the staff's recommendation and she has never been so soft and her shedding is minimal as well! She now goes to the back with no issues (she protested slightly the first few times) and is always happy when I pick her up. read more

This place is amazing. I made a last minute appointment for my new rescue and was able to drop him off in the morning and pick him up at 5 (they kept apologizing but it was great for me since I had to run errands) he was like a new dog when I picked him up. I'm not familiar with dog grooming prices but I paid a lot less than I had expected. Gizzy found his new groomers for sure! read more

EXCELLENT grooming service for my furbabies. They go to get groomed every three weeks and enjoy the barking bus ride to and from....as well as a day of socializing with other pups in their day camp. Highly recommended. read more

Great staff! Reasonable prices! They always responded when we reached out and kept in touch when any concerns or questions came up. Did a wonderful job with our crazy GSD! Verdict is still out on the grooming, might be shedding season but they all seem to be throwing hair everywhere. That said, they were very clean and didn't stink. I would definitely bring them here again. read more

Awesome place to groom and/or board your pets. We have taken our 3 to Animal House for a years and we always receive pictures and can see them on the cameras! Also we have gotten to know a lot of the workers and they are awesome and always helpful. I am saddened though over the recent events that one person guilty or not that the business as a whole gets horrible phone calls and threats. Which I was hopeful that no one had hurt an animal and now knowing the Dog was sick and the owner made up a story on Fb! The truth is now out and I hope all of Animal House can heal And get back to normal because We Love Y'all!!!! read more

I love love LOVE this place. But what's even better...my dog LOVES it. When we drop her off she runs into the room and doesn't even look back at me! I'm so glad we have a place to bring her that she likes. They are cheap. $25 overnight includes food, own room, and puppy play time. I recommend this place to everyone I know with a dog! EDIT 5/16/12: FYI boarding prices are now $30 a night. Still worth it though. We'll have a problem if it goes up any more though! They also offer a frequent groomers card. We still love this place and so does our dog! read more

My dog was injured at the facility. Initially one of the GM's tried to claim the injury occurred before I dropped my dog off. I had the time of injury verified by a veterinarian and documented. This is the best place by far for your furbabies. I have been coming here for a while now, mainly for grooming and they are excellent. The groomers do not listen! Specifically told them the cut I want and got the complete opposite (over the phone so it is written in their notes, and in person to the groomer). I get pissed off every time I think about it. After giving me my dog back, she clanged on to me as if they hurt her. There is a patch missing from my dog's head! So I'm assuming that may have something to do with it. Never again! read more

I was very hesitant to take my four month old morkie to the groomers because such a perfect little pup like him deserved a groomer that was just as perfect. After a couple of days of calling around Animal House was the only place to tell me to bring my baby by that same day. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is very welcoming. I asolutely loved Benji's very first haircut! We will definitely be coming back! :-) read more

I love Animal House! I have taken my little dogs for nail trims and my big boy to day camp for several years. Their staff is always kind and caring. I love that they remember us each time and will ask about my big dog when I take just the littles. They are willing to work with you to make your pets comfortable and really care about the animals. They don't seem to have a lot of staff turn over which I think says a lot about the business. read more

Babies loved it. I love that they call when play time is about to begin, and offer live feed of it.

I, 100%, would recommend this place to everyone! I have a rescue pitbull and she's very lovey and sweet but absolutely detests her nails being trimmed. I haven't been able to do her nails at all and my last vet cut her up. I took her to Animal House for the first time today, (1/12/2021), and they cut her nails in five minutes with no issues. This is the first time someone has been able to do so without a muzzle and making her bleed. I would give this place ten stars if I could. Hidden bonus, it was only $12.50 to do all four paws, I'm not sure if that's what they normally charge but I almost cried in relief. The people working were so sweet and friendly and I'll definitely be back again and again! Love love love this place!! Oh, they also offer doggy daycare and boarding! read more

Love ,Love Animal House. We use them for boarding and our pup comes homes completely wore out. You can't beat the price for the amenities available to your pets or the knowledge that they are being well taken care of while you are away. Having a pool environment available to your pet as well as the option to have them board the bark bus and travel to a local park for a walk is many of the great things available to you. I can not recommend Animal House enough. read more

Personally I have not been here for drop off as my husband took on that task(he said they were very nice and the place was very clean) but I can say their customer service is great! When I noticed we were wrongly charged for one night of boarding our pup I called and asked about it. The lady on the phone was so professional. She promised to get to the bottom of it, discuss it with the manager and get back to me by noon. Well pretty much right at noon I got a phone call! I don't know why but that kind of accountability goes a long way for me. The manager Jeremy was very kind and professional, apologizing about the miscommunication and willing to make everything right. THIS is what great customer service is! We will be bringing our Mochi back for sure! read more

My puppy absolutely LOVES Animal House, as do I. Every day when I drop her off, she sprints for the door and can t wait to play with her friends.
