In my opinion happy bowls is a "must visit" when out in montauk because it's a very unique concept and you can get a delicious snack without feeling guilty! It was bitter and tasted unlike the berries that the bowl had in it. The bananas were unripe which threw me off. I would give the berry bowl a 3/10. The price was the thing that encouraged me to make this review though. For the protein bowl and the berry bowl, I paid $34 for both. That price cannot be reasoned. If you're out and about and want to get a good bit of protein or want a sweet treat, I would encourage going elsewher. Unless you drove there in a Porsche, it's not worth the money.

It has their faves-the chickpeas and rice and peas (kidney beans,) salad AND stewed pumpkin! I think I'll try to make the rice at home but cannot say I've seen stewed pumpkin anywhere and cannot imagine how to make it to the perfection Doubles does! The people working there make sure your food is fresh & delicious. There's a few seats inside and lots of picnic benches outside where families and others meet and mingle. We've seen the backgammon club there too! If these seats run out, grab a blanket and sit in the lawn! There's an ice cream bar in the back as well if dessert's desired. A perfect summer experience that's relatively affordable at $20 a dish; the only problem is you might want more than one dish! Please consider traveling with your own silverware in case you also get a bowl vs a roti; it's better than eating with a plastic fork that can find a way into the beautiful ocean that we must do our part to keep clean. Happy summer!
