The food is great. This place is kind of small with only 2 servers. It can take a little while to get your food, but the food is amazing. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own. Because the place is small it can also take a bit to get a table, but worth the wait read more

Wonderful service! Dined in for lunch and the waiter was on top of it and very attentive to each table. When it's cold outside, the bench seating is heated! read more

I really love the food, the flavor, and the atmosphere. Needs to hire more staff. Took 15 minutes to get a glass of water, 35 minutes to get an appetizer, and almost an hour to get our meal. The food flavor is the only thing keeping the rating high. read more

I had the drunken noodles with chicken and a non alcoholic ginger beer. The food the drink and the service were all good. I liked the Buhda statue. This place is byob and I noticed other patrons with coolers and wine bottles. read more

This is the BEST Thai food in Cincinnati! Buddha Barn is truly a hidden gem. The staff is so friendly and the restaurant is beautiful. Carry-out was great, but I look forward to eating in sometime. We took our carry-out food to a nearby park in gorgeous Sayler Park. Definitely recommend Buddha Barn! Delicious!!!! read more

This place has the best vegan and vegetarian food in the city. I feel so fortunate it is so close to home! I can't wait until they reopen!

So let's get to it. Let me say that I am a meat and Potato kind of guy. Let's talk service, very good, very friendly, very accommodating. Food, for someone generally ignorant of any food that doesn't involve chicken wings. Was good, we shared a salad that I feel was a bit under dressed but still good. Massaman curry... (I just asked my wife how to spell this) was surprising good. I could go back here but would up the heat from baby level, wife agreed. So good i would go back. read more

I think this is probably a good place for older white people that like mild food. We drove about 45 minutes to get here because of an article on Cincinnati refined or some other cincinnati blog and a lot of great reviews. When we arrived there was only a 6-top available. They split it into a 4 (us) and a 2. The couple that came in after us were seated before us at the 2, their orders were taken first and they received their food and finished eating before we were even served ours. It was a little over a hour from when we were seated until we were served or food. The tom Ka was very watery and not at all spicy. The spring rolls were great and tasted like they might be house made. The duck curry was ok, but the skin was soggy and the sauce was a little bland. Pad see ewe was mediocre. Ra na (I think that's what it was called) was just unseasoned steamed chicken breast and veggies with a tiny dish of mild satay. The crispy chicken was the best dish and was pretty good. I felt the meal was a little overpriced for what it was at about 115 for 2 adults and 2 children. I left thinking about at least 3 places within 10 minutes from my house with better thai, better service, and better price. Even my kids said that the 6 spice level there was less than a 1 at other places we eat. read more

Had a party of 4 on a Saturday night. We showed up at 6:30pm, unfortunately at the same time as quite a few other groups. From reading other reviews I was prepared for a wait but we didn't get seated until 7:45pm . The restaurant is VERY small and there is nowhere to sit while you wait which made the long wait seem even longer. Once we were seated the service was great as well as the food. I plan on going back but on a less busy night or earlier in the evening. read more

One of my favorite places to eat. Not much to look at from the outside, but the decor and staff are exceptional. Love the pad kra pow, delicious! read more

This place has the best Asian food on the Westside. I like that you can bring your own bottle of wine!

Buddha Barn is an excellent new gem in the heart of Sayler Park. They don't have a sign on the exterior of the building just yet, but the interior is cozy and well decorated. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. I will definitely go back! read more

Delightfully delicious! It looked closed because it didn't have a sign and looked a little rough outside, but it was nice inside. Great service and the food was very fresh! I highly recommend this little hidden gem. read more

This is a very nice addition to the neighborhood. Somewhat unusual Thai restaurant. There is no name in front of the restaurant, not sure why. There is no portrait of the king and queen inside that I saw. Usually this is a no-no when going to a Thai restaurant, as I've never trusted a Thai restaurant if I don't see a prominent display of the king and queen portrait. I was wrong. This restaurant is every bit authentic, and the food were good. Both my wife and I enjoyed our lunch. It's not the best Thai food in Cincinnati, but it's very close. I would say it's one of the top three. And given the reasonable price, it is very hard to beat. read more

Amazing. Can't say enough positive things. Food is fantastic, service is quick and friendly. They take the time to give a wonderful presentation and the flavor is even better. Love having this place in my neighborhood and close enough to walk to... read more

This was our first time at Buddha Barn. First impression is that they need to put a sign out front with the name of the business on it but if you are looking for it it is right next to UDF and it has a red awning. The inside of the place it not fancy but why would it be in this area. There are so many items on the menu that I wanted to try but I finally decided on the Crazy Curry and a heat level of medium. I am glad I did not go with any hotter because this was spicy even for me but I loved it. Each person in our group ordered a different dinner and they all agreed that we need to come back to this place. read more

Delicious! This wonderful Thai place opened at the end of my street in Sayler Park and I'm so very happy it did! The prices are reasonable, the food is awesome (great flavor, good portion), the service is friendly and prompt. Everything you could want in a restaurant, with a modern, clean but casual aesthetic. Love love love it please support this place! read more

Bad service, long long long wait (1:45 ) and never got food!!!!! Don't think I will ever go back. And this was for carry-out.

Not your typical Thai restaurant. Not a fast food takeout(which is good). Fantastic food with an artistic twist! This place does it right and is well worth the trip. They did a great job renovating the building and what a welcome site in Saylor Park. We need more places like this. I had a squash pad Thai dish and the shrimp in these fried noodle nests. Amazing! The best in Cincinnati! read more

Buddha Barn - New favorite restaurant! Next to Gracely Market (used to be a UDF) - Thai Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Wow! I would not have thought an incredible Thai restaurant could be found in Saylor Park. This place has the best Thai food I've had in the greater Cincy area. Everything I've had on the menu has been delicious with the freshest ingredients! The Everything Salad w/plum dressing could be found at any Four Star restaurant in the city. The coconut soup, CU noodles and drunken noodles are my favorites. Please try it. I would like this place to succeed so I can dine there for a long time. read more

Buddha Barn was my absolute GO-TO, I sometimes used to go twice a week because of how good their food was, one of them being the Thai Fried rice. I took all my friends there even though it was about a 25 minute drive to get there from Downtown. I went so often they automatically knew when I called what my order would be. But unfortunately recently, maybe a month before our COVID crisis, the main cook who happens to also be the owner's sister quit, Gina. She used to be the one who made most of the food and wow...did that make a massive difference in both quality of service as well as the quality of the food. The Thai fried rice is not anywhere near the quality that it used to be, in fact it went from the best I've ever had to one of the worst I've ever had. The flavor is lacking, the spice level has been massively undermined, and lastly the rice doesnt taste the same. Short answer, they lost a loyal customer. I hope the owner and his sister work out whatever differences, because the recipe's she had put a smile on at least 10 people that I know of. read more

I spend too much time on the road for work, and Thai food is a common go-to of mine. To this day, I do not think I have had a better serving of Pad Thai (typically order with pork). 10/10 and not many places even comes close. Oh, and the atmosphere and service is fantastic. read more

I'm a thai food lover even though I am Filipino my husband and our daughter tried this place for the first time we have never heard of this restaurant until someone did mentioned about it to us and seems like they love the place so of course we give it a try right away went there for lunch we ordered the coconut soup as a starter first we thought we need a salt or peppers to get some more flavor til we realized that we just need to mix the soup to get the flavor taste we are empress it was a good coconut soup...Finally our main course the pad thai noodles and the red curry yummm it was all delicious too bad they run out of spring rolls it was our first choice as a starter but hopefully in our next visit we can try it. I love how the place looks old and woody it's kinda different. The service are fine as only one server around since this is not a big place at all. It looks very fine restaurant... Hands down to the food presentation it is totally cool looks very professional... Sure will be back we enjoyed the food so much and we can't wait to try the different dish on our next visit... read more

Awful. I was looking forward to a Thai restaurant coming to so close to home, but this place is just below average. The meal was literally a plate of bland, unseasoned steamed chicken and vegetables with a tablespoon of peanut sauce on the side. If it was supposed to be "Thai" food, it certainly did not taste like it had any Thai flavor to it. I could make better meals at home that don't cost me $16. The "Kite" appetizer (cheese wontons) were okay, but had a sour after taste. The poor server was trying hard, but with just one co-worker to help cover tables and manage the front of house, it all just seemed rushed and thrown together. Sad to say I will not be making a return to Buddha Barn. read more

Stopped in today for lunch with friends. Calm lovely interior with a beautiful view of the park across the street. Good selection of lunch items. We received complimentary spring rolls with our meal. I had the drunken noodles. The sauce was flavorful and didn't overwhelm the crisp vegetables. The noodles had just the right amount of chew. A light green salad accompanied my dish. There's no sign out front yet and parking is on the street. You can BYOB! This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I intend to be a regular. read more

THE BEST Thai food I've ever eaten. Lovely, quaint place. 4 adults ate there last night, and ordered something different, and everyone loved their meals. The starters were excellent as well. The presentation was beautiful. Everything was fresh and cooked when ordered. Don't be in a hurry,,,, since it's byob, take your favorite beverage and enjoy your company. (We actually took a cooler in but if u forget, there's a UDF next door.). Staff was amazing, and didn't rush anyone out. In fact, several tables had friends gathering, and it was obvious that they were there for the evening. We Will definitely go back. This is actually 25 minutes from my home, but I'd drive an hour cuz it was that good. Next time, I'd like to go earlier, when it's light outside. Across the street is a lovely park, and I'd like to walk around Sayler Park--- it looks like a lovely place to live! read more

It's a bit surprising that one of the best Thai restaurants in Cincinnati happens to be in Sayler Park - but it is. Found totally by accident, Buddha Barn impressed with its reviews and delivered upon visiting and dining. From the wood-paneled walls and wood floors to the delicious food (I had the yellow curry - it was very, very good), I don't think this place will disappoint. As I sat by myself, next to the window looking out on the city park across the street, the wait staff was attentive but hardly bothersome, I enjoyed a complimentary fried roll and a Lemon Thai Ice Tea, which were also both very tasty. Then, I noticed something rather extraordinary: As others finished their lunches, each one raved about how good *their* lunch was, too. Then, another patron said it wasn't his first time and he'd be back. I overheard one of the cooks say this was a family business and that they have "more than 20 years experience in the restaurant business." It shows. Then a local came in and asked if they offered carry out (they do) and said they were here last week and it was "amazing" and they're bringing friends next week. Impressive. I live waaaay on the other side of town and am not frequently in the area, but I think I might have to bring others here just to show them that Sayler Park just might have the corner (or a corner) on the Cincinnati Thai food restaurant business. read more

Hidden gem on the west side. Definitely up there in terms of quality Thai food in Cincinnati!

Best Thai dish I've had in a long time! I got the cashew pineapple. The sauce was delicious (as long as you like a little sweet)! My companion got the drunken noodles and really liked that too. I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Tasteful ambiance. Delightful presentation of food (I even ate all of the garnishes!) and unique entree options. Very friendly and welcoming owner. Overall, a great place for authentic Thai! read more
