There was a young girl's softball team with fast pitch machine; a mixed co-ed group and an elderly gentleman group all practicing batting consistency. It is fantastic for the community to offer an outlet for all age groups to practice softball and be part of a team. It was very nice to be able to watch the players while just exploring the area. But mostly, I love the military veteran's memorial. What a tremendous tribute to service members and capture of Commander in Chief quotes throughout the various military conflicts in this nation's history. Spectacular memorial found in McDonough, Georgia. It is a must visit if on the area.

There are three trails: blue loop = 1.2 miles, red loop = 1.3 miles and orange loop = 7.7 miles. I tried to navigate the red loop and got lost. But that is not unusual for me. It ended up taking me 2.5 miles. I really like this place. The trails are well maintained, plenty of restrooms (port-a-potties) along the way, and gorgeous scenery. Whenever I get a chance, I plan to frequent this place. Besides trails, they also offer educational classes to learn about the area, wildlife, water conservation and more. Come check them out, they are near Noah's Ark in Locust Grove.

The restrooms by the playground were clean and spacious! The playground was large and fun and offered minimal shade. We drove out and around to the water front to hike the loop trail which was such a joy. We saw so many lovely animals and ran into some lovely locals who shared stories of animal run ins while at the park. The barn you walk through could use some love it was a little spooky haha overall we would come back in a heart beat! It's a beautiful natural oasis!

There's probably as much parking lot area there, as there is park. There are wooden camping shelters there. Some people trailer horses to ride there. There are better parks in the area. On of my favorites is Panola Mountain state park. It's only about a 20minute drive away, and it's a lot bigger, and more interesting. There's a huge park area, and there are miles of natural trails in the woods there. It does cost 5.00 to park, but it's worth it. Alexander lake park is not far away. It's worth checking out, and so is Arabia mountain park, lots of hiking area there, including a huge granite formation like Stone Mountain, only not as high.

I park here to gain access to the rockdale river trail…read more The rockdale river trail is simply perfect for road bikes. It's miles and miles of concrete roads. There are a few places along the trail that lead to dirt roads, if you want to go off the paved road. But otherwise, it's miles and miles of nature and beauty. This trail has all that rustic and deep forests feel to it. After a few miles it might even bring out your inner poet and have you start reciting Robert Frost, "two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both..." In case you might like the forest too much and wish to become a hermit, there are good hills thrown into the trail for good measure. It's a nice balance of even road to let you enjoy the ride, then it changes with hills interval for a good cardiovascular workout. The view is lovely. There's a lake at panola state park, river along the way, farms and even a monastery. I saw people fishing at the lake. I spied wild life such as: Ducks Deer Rabbit There are signs for bike & kayak rental at Panola State Park.

We stayed at Indian Springs as we wanted to do a couple things in Jackson (about 10-15 mins away)…read more Pros: -the park is beautiful! -Several trails to hike and an old cemetary to explore. -The spring -Visitor Center is a beautiful old building. Staff was very pleasant. -Camp hosts keep the place so clean and neat -Bathrooms were amazing! 2 stalls (one regular and one handicap) and 2 showers (one regular and one handicap). These were spotless. -Really neat kids playground in the new section Cons: -The road in is windy and VERY narrow. -New section: The sites are spacious but man... Not sure who designed it. All the pull thrus had slopes. We actually disconnected the Jeep and backed into our pull thru site as we may have bottomed out trying to actually pull in forward. The spot where the patio is was level and long enough for our 40' bus, but the jeep was on a slant when parked either in front or behind the coach. We saw this in most of the sites. I think if we stayed in the new section again, we'd chose one of the back in sites. -Hook ups were near the front of the site. Good thing we have long hoses! We camped at Indian Springs State Park in a Motorhome.

Great park to play Tennis or baseball, has walking loop and play on a play ground. Sunshine Leagues play here. Bathrooms aren't the best, but they are available. Most of the times they are locked. Tennis courts are pretty nice. Plenty of free parking available. Facility is well maintained free of dogs and traffic. Richard Craig Park is about 39+ acres of green space with tennis courts, a playground, a pavilion and lighted baseball diamonds. Richard Craig Park's name was formally changed from South Cedar Park in 2003 to honor Mr. Craig. Mr. Craig served as chairman of the Recreation board as well as playing, coaching and umpiring ball in Henry County. Mr. Craig also played a part in the First Sunshine League Field for handicapped athletes. Facility features 39 Acres, Sunshine Field, 8 Lighted Baseball Fields, Pavilion and 16 lighted Tennis courts. They also have couple of nice and clean long picnic tables with the shades on the top. If you are in the area please do check it out.
