They found that a previous repair had failed, and they weren't sure it could be re-fixed. They took a fair amount of time removing the old patch and roughing up the surface enough for a new one. For all their trouble, they only charged me $25. This was two weeks and a lot of miles ago, and no sign of any leak in the tire. Thanks, Gordo's, you kept my vacation on track.

I checked them in Corpus and Portland for two of my three days here, and they always had a 2&1/2 hour wait. They suggested I make an appointment on line which I did for 4 pm. I arrived at 4 pm and got in line as if I had not made an appointment with no signage or indication as what to do if you had a reservation??? They told me they used to have a separate line for reservations but no longer do. I am not sure if there is any advantage to having a reservation??? They told me it put you ahead of other people in line. I did like that they had a cooler full of bottled waters as it was a hot day and it was much appreciated. My service advisor was courteous and friendly. The concept, pricing and selection for Discount Tire is a good , however, they have grown to the point that there is almost always a 2 or more hour wait no matter where you go. I would tell them BUILD MORE STORES. I was told I should be done by 5pm. It is 5pm and my car is still sitting in the parking lot. Has not yet moved. It did about 5:10 and the were done quickly. The technician came over and asked if the pressure he had set was ok. I sled him to go up a bit and he smiled and went back to it. So overall if they could work out the appointment issue I would rate them 5 stars.

We had an unplanned overnight stay, but Keith called in the morning to let me know what the issue was. Long story short, he wasn't able to get the part quickly, and had to do a temporary fix to get us safely back to San Antonio on a Friday. Work was done right after lunch, as promised, and he even gave me a ride from the hotel to get the car. He got the car lifted and the oil came out fine, but when it came to changing out the filter, he ran into a problem. The oil filter was put back on too tight. He said this tightness is all too typical with these Toyotas. It was a risk of breaking the aluminum casing that holds the oil filter and a couple of days to get the part from San Antonio if it breaks. So he just changed the oil and did not charge me for the oil filter and the labor. The bill was just $51. I will need to go San Antonio to the Toyota dealer to have the filter changed. I was glad that Allen was honest and walked me through the process and did not charge me, except for the oil. Most of all, I am glad to have had my car kept intact. This situation could have gone bad. He put air in my tires, even my spare tire. He did well and I would definitely return to this shop. Thank you Allen and Beth.
