This was defiantly a learning lesson. When me and my bf first had our meeting with this business we…read morewere going to go to Jamaica however we changed our minds after making the deposit and knowing we couldn't get our money back we changed the trip to Vegas. Our Vegas trip came to around 1900$ and some change which is very pricey for Vegas but we didn't complain because it was for my bf bday and our first time anywhere together so I wanted the best for him. We haven't seen the travel agent since the first initial deposit everything else from there was through phone calls, emails and texts. My boyfriend and the travel agent did most of the talking for this trip I didn't really have any say so.After doing some digging I actually discovered that I paid way to much for this trip 2 round trip tickets are about 60$ each and the hotel for 5 nights which is how long we stayed for would have only been between $800-$900.. This isn't even the part that had me pissed off. One day I had seen the travel agent and was told from her that the hotel would be charging my debit card $172 just in case we were to break anything; ok cool that's expected at any hotel you go to. Few days after that I seen her again to received our package detailing everything and any questions I had I was told to call her. Looked over the package and ok everything seems to be cool there was a hotel voucher to show the hotel and also our flight info. The whole morning making our way from phila to Vegas was good no issues at all as it is suppose to be. When it came time to check into the hotel which we stayed at a hotel resort and spa in Las Vegas called red rock yes it was a hotel that we chooses and brung to her attention it is still her job to make sure everything is covered and we don't have any issues. Not the case after presenting the voucher the front desk tells us that only 1 night was paid for remember we are staying for 5 nights. Then further more we learned that we had to come out of pocket to pay an additional $500 for a resort fee that out of our 1900$ should've covered that. We called the travel agent and she claims she told me about the resort fee how she can say that I don't know because we barely talked about this Vegas trip at all. She said it was in my package we both looked at the package and nothing any their about $$ at all besides how much our luggage is. We asked her where did our $1900 go to and she says our trip how is that even possible when we are paying an additional amount for our stay. Her excuse was I didn't pick that hotel you guys told me where y'all wanted to stay.. WHY do that even matter who told who we have you our money to plan our vacation and that was to make sure EVERYTHING I mean EVERYTHING was taken care of we should've only came out of pocket for anything extra that we wanted to do. She messed up and all I wanted her to do was be honest and say that instead she continues to say what she told me when she didn't tell me. I had everything covered and for me to mix up $172 and $500 is completely insane that's a huge difference. The package only consist of two things the voucher and flights nothing more about the hotel. First and last time using a travel agency.

This was also our first time traveling out of the country in a decade, so we were anxious about navigating international travel. Paul went above and beyond the typical duties of a travel agent. He was well informed about LGBTQIA safety around the world and gave us multiple great honeymoon options. Paul spent a lot of time going over everything with us and made sure that we understood the pros and cons of every option in our price range such as which resorts had better food, family friendly vs adult only resorts, which resorts were more about the nightlife/party experience vs a more quiet stay. He assisted us with all of the logistics, phone calls, very minute details, and planning/itinerary for our trip to an all-inclusive in Cabo, Mexico. He looked into all of our special requests for additional excursions and got back to us in a timely manner every time with multiple options. He truly took care of everything under the sun including writing up an email per my request with a list of when, who, and how much to tip at our resort. Paul made sure to caution us about potential scammers who would (and did) agressively approach us in the airport as well as other trip-specific and country specific details that absolutely saved us from unnecessary stress/costs/safety risks. Paul made himself readily available for our call anytime while we were on our trip and encouraged us to call him if there was anything that we needed. When I called him during our honeymoon to request a last-minute, romantic sunset sailboat outing, he sprung into action and got it all set up for us while we continued to relax and enjoy ourselves. On another occasion, I called Paul in a panic, thinking we had missed our transportation due to our tardy arrival. Paul called me back in just a minute or so and got everything sorted out for us right away. We felt that he truly had our back, every step of the way. With the level of care that Paul showed us, he felt more like a warm and worldly family member than just any travel agent, and at the same time he is also incredibly professional. We were completely taken care of and felt very safe in his capable hands. I highly recommend his services, especially for any LGBTQIA community members but also for anyone who is planning a trip abroad. I cannot emphasize enough the level of personalization he put into our trip planning on our behalf and how incredibly grateful we feel to have had Paul's support and expertise throughout this experience. My wife and I will 100% use Rainbow Voyages again.

Unfortunately, my husband and I cannot recommend Undiscovered Britain & Ireland. We took a trip to…read moreEngland at the end of April to see one of my friends get married, and we hired Ann to be our travel agent because her website said that she had expertise in traveling with a wheelchair. Our initial emails with her went well, so we paid about $1000 more than we were comfortable paying for the trip in order to gain access to her knowledge. Traveling with a wheelchair tends to be stressful, and we wanted to avoid that stress. However, our expectations were unfulfilled in the end, and when we brought our concerns to Ann, she was defensive and blamed our unmet expectations on us. The only thing I agree with what she told us is that we should have started planning earlier, in which case we would not have hired her because our experience entirely lines up with the review from Vincent Y. We had a lot of fun in England, and on the first day, we were so thankful we had hired her because the driver from Heathrow to the hotel saved us a lot of hassle. For me, this arrangement was the highlight of our travel package. After that, things happened that made us go from happy to questioning to completely unhappy with her service. In the packet of info, she recommended that we use the black cabs as they are completely accessible whereas the Underground is not. So after getting settled at the hotel, we took a cab to Tower Bridge, which we could not actually get to because the accessible path had been blocked by the London Marathon, wandered for a little bit, then took a cab back. Why had Ann not given us a heads up about the Marathon? Also, the two cabs were about £60 total, so if we were to follow her suggestion on Monday, we would be spending even more money that we had not planned on spending. After a few hours of research at the hotel, we found out you could buy an all day bus pass for two that was cheaper than a single cab ride. Why had Ann not included this info in our packet? It only mentioned the cabs even though all of the busses are wheelchair friendly. She later said that she had listed it on her website, but I strongly feel it should have been right next to the suggestion to use black cabs. The next day, we picked up our rental car and found out that we had to pay extra for a GPS. When Ann had sent us the original proposal, she never mentioned this. It was definitely worth it but should have already been included. After this, we drove to the Bath hotel address listed in the packet. We were surprised that we could not park at the hotel but had to find parking elsewhere. It turns out there was a big parking lot a few windy turns away from the hotel, but this was not in our packet, even though this is the sort of information we paid extra for. Even more, the parking lot had free parking for anyone with a handicap tag, including from the US, but we had not brought mine because Ann never gave us that tip that it was valid in the UK, too. We parked, went to the hotel, and realized that the entrance was not level access. At this point, everything culminated, and we were not happy with our travel package anymore. Continuing into the unhappy phase, we found out that the hotel has a portable ramp that they bring out if you need it. The staff were all very nice, but this did not make up for the surprise. If my husband were not there, I could not have gotten into the hotel at all, unless I decided to scream at the top of my lungs for one of the staff to come out to me. We had no way to call anyone. Ann never warned us about the portable ramp, which is vital information in a handicap travelers package. Furthermore, the price of the hotel room was posted, and it did not match up with what we paid for. At this point, we started feeling a little ripped off. When we got to the next hotel, my husband looked up what that room should've cost, and again, the room was much cheaper than we had paid for. Each of the hotel rooms had pros and cons, and we had a lot of fun seeing friends and England. However, we came back to America feeling like we had overpaid for what we received. I emailed Ann to ask for an itemized invoice for us to go over to figure out what went wrong. I also let her know that I would not recommend the second hotel to anyone with a wheelchair. She refused the invoice on the grounds that it was confidential and basically said we felt wrong. After all the information she did not give us, and the fact that we felt like we were overcharged, at this point, we decided to make up our own sample invoice. Based on our calculations, she overcharged us between $700 and $1200, which we will say is the fee for the knowledge that we had to find on our own. In all of her emails after we voiced our concerns, Ann was defensive and unapologetic. We want to warn future travelers to look elsewhere because 1. Ann does not respond well if you have a problem, and 2. we are pretty sure we severely overpaid for what we received.

We used Undiscovered Britain & Ireland to travel to Ireland in June, 2015 as a group of 3 couples…read more We had a great time in Ireland and Northern Ireland, with one rather disappointing experience. During our trip we stayed in 4 different locations. Each was acceptable, and all well located with one exception. The B & B booked in Derry was not within walking distance of the town center and was in a rather sketchy, unattractive neighborhood where none of us felt safe. We also found the B & B to be messy, unattractive and not suitable for 6 mature travelers. We immediately contacted the president of Undiscovered Britain & Ireland to notify her of our concerns and that the location and lodging were not acceptable to us. She immediately took a defensive posture and didn't really listen to our concerns. As we prepaid the entire trip and the B & B owner refused to refund us any of the 3 nights booked, we requested some type of compensation from the travel agency. She refused to consider even a partial refund, despite the fact that we paid her over $400 per night per couple for the rooms that we later discovered on the internet for less than $100 per night. We were able to find rather nice rooms, at our own cost, in the town center which was interesting since our travel agent said she placed us out of town due to lack of availability in town when she booked our rooms 8 months earlier. We lost one afternoon of our precious 9 days in Ireland. Our suggestion is if you choose Undiscovered Britain & Ireland be very careful to research the hotels/B & Bs booked and their price and location. As prepayment is a requirement, do not expect an amiable resolution to any lodging problems that may arise
