If you want to pay cash make sure you use the correct machine one of them is cards only and the other one is cash or card. Was planning on paying in cash but use the wrong machine so I had to use a card. But it was easier than I thought to get the card and you can just tap it to check your balance. Have not tired the key out because I had a token to get ride but look forward to testing it out soon.

Nothing really fancy about the station but overall I think this service is awesome. I do see a lot…read moreof complaints on about this SEPTA Regional Rail line but to me most are petty. Keep in mind that I'm speaking through the eyes of a guy who lived in neighborhoods that required commutes into Center City by way of the 48, 32, 7 busses or even worse, the El. You would see some real scavengers on those routes. The regional rail costs a little more but is well worth it to me. Trains are always clean. I find most regular passengers on the train to be a civilized bunch. The worst you get is the occasional yuppie gabbing away on the phone for all to hear. Yes, trains can run late in the morning and the train conductors always seem miserable. Again, a small price to pay for a clean, safe ride into Center City. If you can deal with such minor inconveniences, you have a 20 minute or so ride with no traffic. Ever tried getting back to East Falls, Manayunk or Roxborough on a Friday afternoon via bus? FUGETABOWIT! I'll take the occasional delayed train any day of the week. For those who complain, try taking an hour long ride on the trey-deuce (32 bus) to work for a week.

As many issues that Philly might have, there is an unfettered joy and sense of adventure for me with the random, chance encounters the city offers. As I am conveyed back and forth to the South Street vet with my sick little white cat, once again I get to have some funny, interesting, happy, poignant and occasionally simply dull, yawning interactions with Uber's legions of drivers. I love getting a minute peek into the thoughts and lives of these drivers who are so often taken for granted and treated like robots. Sure, some of these folx have complicated lives, second and third jobs and want nothing more to get through their shift in peace and quiet. As an introvert, I always test the conversational waters when I step into an Uber vehicle. If the driver answers me in monosyllables, I take it he or she simply wants to drive, thus I keep to myself. Some drivers are possibly bored yet enthused about chatting so as a result I have been privileged to learn about their families, their country of origin, their snack preferences, some of the odd/interesting/pesky passengers they've conveyed, music tastes and most of all-how connected everyone of us really are. Almost as good, since I don't drive, is having the little kid in me awakened and absolutely thrilled at going out for a car ride. (Sure, it isn't free but the little boy in me never even considers that. He simply has a blast seeing the city from a vehicle...) While Uber is a business, it would be nothing without its drivers. Sure, sometimes they are slow to arrive or they flip your trip to another driver. From time to time, a driver is having a rotten day and acts out a bit. Examine your conscience. Haven't you had similar days or nights, no matter what you do for a living? Rather than bitching and moaning, treat your Uber ride as a way to connect with someone you'd probably never meet in your regular social circle. See your driver like the unique, silly, grouchy, aspiring, single parenting, hard working, dream filled human being they are; under the t-shirt, under the jacket, under the trucker's cap, behind the knock off shades-they are someone just like you.

So I look at it like if it's an item that's not worth retriever leave it be and if it is worth retrieving more likely you won't be able to get it and they won't reimburse you but yet they will charge you $20 to retrieve your own items. I use Uber a lot and they're about to lose a very good customer because they care about the money more than they care about their customers

Great visit to the Residence Inn at Bala Cydwyn for a mini Philadelphia getaway…read more While looking at various hotels in the Philadelphia area, including the downtown area, I saw there were lots of options but many only offered small rooms and charged upwards of $60 per night for parking. Others utilized parking garages "in the area" that were not connected with the hotel and I had some safety concerns with that. I have always enjoyed staying at Marriott's Residence Inns and saw that this one checked all the boxes: good reviews, free parking, free breakfast, fitness center, within minutes from eating options and only 15 minutes away from downtown Philadelphia. The immediate area of the hotel is unique in that it is surrounded by iron works and the hotel builds on that theme with some lovley decor throughout its space. The hotel is right off the Schuykill River. There is a great walking/running trail alongside the river there as well; the Pencoyd Trail. That entire area is separated from the rest of the town by I-95 and some train tracks...very safe and quiet. Check-in process was simple. The lobby was well-maintained with some business-center style computers off to the side. We ended up getting a studio suite with one king bed, sofabed and a kitchen. The room was great...the full-sized refrigerator, kitchen, microwave, iron, ironing board and large TV with adequate channels (including HBO) are always appreciated, especially when traveling with the family. The TV also allows you to sign into a few streaming apps, including Netflix, Youtube and Amazon Prime. Clean bathroom with good water pressure. Efficient climate control in the room as well. Quiet rooms...we didn't hear much outside noise. Ice machines were seemingly on every floor. There are two restaurants at the hotel...one is casual and the other a bit nicer. Hot tea and coffee, iced coffee, water and cookies are free and available at all times in the lobby. There is a "marketplace" shop that sells snacks and drinks in the lobby as well. There is an adequate fitness center, nice-sized pool, a game room (a few games) and a lovely lounge area with a fire place. The lounge area is a quite big and had some great soft/lounge seating throughout as well as lots of board games. A nice place to kill time before check-in or after check-out, or just relax. The stay price was a bit higher than some other options, but the extras and conveniences make up for that. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Awesome hotel in a great location. We chose this hotel because we wanted to be close to…read morePhiladelphia but not directly in the city. This location was perfect. It is only about 20 minutes outside of Center City Philly, but feels a world away. Tucked away in a quiet location near a windy road surrounded on both sides with green trees everywhere. The hotel sits right on the Schuylkill River and the parking lot has an industrial look with old steel beams above it and an old railroad track near the hotel. There is also the Pencoyd Bridge which allows you to walk across the river and the Cynwyd Heritage Trail which is a roughly 2-mile trail along the river. Really beautiful setting. The interior of the hotel is nice, modern, and clean. The room was great with a full kitchen and the high ceilings (11-foot?) made the room feel very open and spacious. The beds were comfortable as well. There are two restaurants directly on the hotel premises. Lark and The Landing Kitchen (TLK). We did not try Lark but we ordered food from TLK twice. They have a small menu, but offer enough variety. The TLK burger was one of the best burgers I have had. The smoked turkey hoagie was solid. I would have liked to try the breakfast burrito but that will have to wait until next time. The hotel offers free breakfast from 6:00 - 9:00 a.m. and it was actually a very good breakfast. All your standard options like bagels, muffins, fruit, breakfast potatoes, eggs, bacon, coffee and juices. They also have waffle makers; the kind where you pour the batter in yourself. There are only two things that prevented this review from being a 5/5 star rating. The shower is very roomy but only half of the shower has glass, the other half is wide open. This made the water from the shower pool on the floor right outside of the shower where there is no glass. Not a huge deal, I just put a towel down. The other thing is that room service came into our room and emptied our trash cans but didn't do anything else. They did not restock the toilet paper, did not make the beds, did not provide clean towels, did not do anything else besides empty the trash cans in the room, which I thought was kind of weird. With that said, we loved our stay and it was the perfect location. We would like to go back and visit again soon.
