I went to Buckeye Modern Dentistry, as a new patient, for a checkup with x-rays and a teeth cleaning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I made it clear I wanted only those two things that would be completely covered by my insurance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was told I needed a deep cleaning and with their add ons it was gonna cost me, in addition to what my insurance would cover, about $600. And they would not do a simple cleaning alone that would be totally covered by insurance. Got a second opinion, and I am scheduled for a simple cleaning later this month. I was told, of course, that there are no gum problems that require a deep cleaning. Who are these people?? read more

Went in for an estimate on a crown that fell off. They did everthing but that. Started digging around under a crown on the opposite side. Charged me for things I didn't want or need. I still don't have a new crown on my molar but got a big bill they turned in to collections. Beware of this place and over charging practice. read more

I had a similar bad experience as many of the other reviewers. They treated me terribly and failed to listen to me during both of my visits -- one of which was an emergency appointment. I'm still dealing with issues, even though I haven't had any problems with my teeth in over 20 years. The dentist was rude, dismissive, arrogant, and overbilled me. Had to have 2 teeth extracted as had bacteria in my lower jaw but feeling the pain in my face up to my temples and couldn't even bite down due to excruciating pain. First time here. They got me in 2 days later to have teeth extracted. I asked for nitros and local anesthetics. I explained I had fear of dentist, as had some teeth pulled and cavities filled without anesthesia as a child. Even with both nitros and local, I was in pain. In pain my body was lifting my lower back up off the chair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I was making noise, they said, you feel that? And I answered best I could yes. Dentist response was, well I told you the bacteria would eat up the Novocain.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was in absolute pain I didn't know my eyes could spill tears like a running faucet! I felt that and they said almost done...OMG, the pain! [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked for paperwork, they gave me verbal instructions. I said I have PTSD and won't remember. I need paperwork. The dentist walked out[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The assistant was no kinder. It was a terrible experience at this office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called back to ask how long will it be before I can open my mouth fully, the representative came back and said, the Dentist said to stop babying my mouth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Like what??! I'm asking so I can eat and it's to painful to open my jaw. [[HIGHLIGHT]]How unprofessional and unpleasant to be spoken to condescendingly and implied that my pain is because I babied my jaw?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was the response I got to the pain I was put through while they were yanking my teeth out and they KNEW I was in pain??!? If you have PTSD and anxiety on top of fear of dentist, you should really consider seeking professional Dental Care elsewhere. I could not and would not recommend this Dental establishment especially if you have PTSD. Had a new patient & cleaning appointment with Dr. Benitez & Hygienist Andriana. Both, along with their entire staff were very professional, thorough and friendly. Love the small office environment. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Front desk staff provided warm welcome, had minimal wait time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Billing staff shared all costs up front with me and I was able to pick & choose which services I wanted. Adriana took the extra time to make sure my teeth were clean to my liking. Dr. Benitez discussed my dental needs, and was very reasonable about what should be done now, versus what could wait until an actual problem comes up. Love that they did not try to up sell me on anything like other offices have done. Thank you to all for a positive experience. We will definitely be back!! read more

I could not possibly hate this company worse. Through a dental insurance change I unfortunately ended up here. My son is a college student who has had his routine cleanings. He went in and they wanted to charge him $800 for a cleaning and refused to even do the standard cleaning that was covered by insurance. They literally would not do a standard cleaning without this obscene upcharge. Everything about this place screams upcharge. I 100 percent do not trust them and I'm generally someone who gives medical professionals a lot of grace. I happened to go here more than a decade ago and they urged all this unnecessary work on me. I know it was unnecessary because I never did it then or ever and a decade plus later it did not matter. My daughter has never had a cavity in her life, and this office insisted she had some astronomical amount of cavities. I believed them, and then they dragged this out into some staggering number of visits. This is quite possibly the worst business I've seen in my life. Avoid Buckeye Modern Dentistry like the plague. read more

Dentist and staff are very friendly and attentive. The ONLY drawback was I had to wait about a half hour from my appointment time before I was called back. I almost canceled so someone else could possibly take my spot. But my name was called right as I stood up to cancel. They did apologize for the wait a few times. When all was said and done, it's a very clean office, got a thorough exam and deep cleaning. Oh... and the dentist smoothed out a tooth that was slightly jagged at no charge! read more

However the dentist and the billing department was very nice and they explained everything in full detail. Staff very through. Hate to say but I don't like going to dentist. My husband went here for a cleaning. They told him that he would need a root canal for one of his teeth and quoted him 600 for the tooth to be pulled out. We ended up switching to a different dentist who quoted us 120 for the tooth extraction. I would also not recommend this office since they will start the cleaning but then ask you to come back in an hour to finish. They numbed my husbands mouth and sent him home asking him to come back in an hour. Very unacceptable, glad we switched. read more

I recently moved to the area and made an appointment with Buckeye Modern Dentistry in order to get a cleaning. I was told that I needed a new patient appointment including all x-rays and a thorough exam. The special price being offered for a new patients is $59.99. I went today for my appointment. After full X-rays, a thorough exam and talking with the dentist and hygienist, I was told that they recommended a deeper cleaning to address some mild periodontal disease. The periodontal disease that they saw has been on the radar with past dentists for a very long time. I have been told over the years that at some point it may need additional treatment, but it has never been described as an urgent situation. I asked how much extra time and money the deep cleaning would entail. They told me it would be about an additional 15 minutes for the cleaning and an additional thousand dollars. I declined. At that point they told me they were not the right office for me and refused to do even the basic cleaning. They did not charge me for the new patient appointment which was good but I wasted an hour of my time there. The office is very clean. Everyone was very cordial and professional. I just did not like their policy of demanding a treatment on the spot, and the waste of one hour of my time. I thought it would be a good idea to write this review so other people understand how they operate the practice. read more

Six days ago I called Buckeye Modern Dentistry because I had finally had enough of a "canine" tooth that I broke a YEAR ago. I'm an older lady with very very bad teeth and have horror stories that go back decades. They got me in very early the next morning. Janelle (office manager) helped get all the "paperwork" and Dr McNew listened to my most recent horror story (got Shingles after a dental procedure) and he explained my options. Although there was some discomfort it went smoothly. I feel so much better and I'm so very happy to say I will continue to see these wonderful folks. read more
