The ceremony and cocktail hour were held on the first floor and the reception was upstairs (and yes, there are elevators). The only caveat is that there are only bathrooms on the first floor, so we all made multiple up-and-down trips throughout the night. There is also an outdoor terrace on the second floor (unfortunately, the view is... the parking lot) but it was a nice area to chat with other wedding guests on a breezy, late May evening. The dance floor area was a bit small for the amount of guests, but it ended up working out. The dinner was buffet style, and the food was quite good! The strawberry salad was tasty, but maybe a bit too much dressing. The mashed potatoes were very garlicky with the perfect texture (not too smooth, but not too chunky). The steamed vegetables (broccoli and carrots) were seasoned enough to be enjoyable on its own and with the protein. There were three protein options: chicken, salmon, and steak. The chicken had a creamy sauce with a red pepper topping that I didn't love. The salmon was seasoned generously, but it was a bit overcooked. The steak was seared quite nicely, cooked medium, and it was my favorite of all three proteins. Overall, the food was good for a wedding venue. This was a great venue to have a wedding! We all had a great time at Sweeney Barn to celebrate our friends getting married.

This venue is exactly what we were hoping for and more. It had a bridal room, room for the groomsmen, restrooms, full kitchen, and a gorgeous, spacious barn that was beautifully decorated. The outside view is spectacular and open with nothing but beautiful scenery. You can have your wedding outside and then come in for the reception, or have everything indoors if the weather isn't cooperating. Dixie was such a pleasure to work with, so accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a venue at a reasonable cost. Staff was accommodating and answered all of our questions. On the wedding day, everything came together really well and my vision was executed. They have everything on one grounds which is great for planning. The manor, itself, is historic with recent renovations. The bridal suite and groomsmen suite were perfect for getting ready, and the reception area in the tent was large enough to accommodate both small and large groups. We knew right away this was our venue. If you read nothing else, go there and experience the magic for yourself! The owner is amazing and sweet and she can also be your officiant (she was ours and created a beautiful ceremony for us). We found you get way more included in this venue than most. They have lots of items you can pick from to use as decor. (I used votives, easels, furniture, lawn games, etc.) The main house has two suites for brides and grooms to get ready. And the main ceremony space has a beautiful, natural arch. Cocktail hour is on the lawn next to the main ceremony space, with chairs/tables provided. There is also a golf cart provided for guests who need assistance getting from the cocktail area to the barn where the reception is held. (If it rains, an intimate ceremony/reception can be held in the barn or tent if you have a bigger party and put one up beside the barn.) You have the option to host your rehearsal dinner there the night before, and also included is a one night stay (either the night before or the night of). We chose to stay the night of the wedding. And breakfast the next morning was delicious. We enjoyed coffee on the porch overlooking the mountains. You have the ENTIRE WEEK to prepare for your wedding (Tuesday to the following Monday). There is only one wedding per week, so the focus is all about you! Also provided is a day of coordinator, which is extremely helpful. We used the recommended vendors list and they did not disappoint! Everyone was very accommodating and professional. Easy access to the hotels in Leesburg or beyond. We did use a shuttle, but there is plenty of parking space as well. I'm sure there is a lot more I could say. I am still feeling the post wedding glow and we couldn't have made a better choice.

I love being able to experience Virginia wines while living in a different state and I love having my membership benefits when I do visit the area. The staff at Sunset Hills vineyard has always been welcoming, knowledgeable and hospitable. In addition, they are great with managing my shipments and account from afar and they make it easy to customize a shipment if you prefer different wines than they are offering. Their food service is great for pairing, I absolutely love their ciabatta bread and warm cheese spread with honey. My favorite thing to do is stop in, taste what is new and share a bottle and some snacks with friends while enjoying the views. Whether I am enjoying live music inside in the winter months or sitting on the deck or outdoor covered area in the summer months, Sunstet Hills Vinyard is my happy place to unwind.
