Make hosted a soap maker, other jewelers and some paper goods from what I can remember. And the display at the front of the store really drew me in. There were a few T-shirts and tank tops that I wanted so much to take home with me. Alas, they were only available in small and 2X. I definitely plan to peak in on my next South Bend visit and see if they have more available. Make also hosts classes. If I lived in Michiana, I would definitely take advantage of these. Melton crayon art, pine cone projects, wreath making, screenprinting, laser cutting Star Wars ornaments -- I so want in! And as I told the owner, I love that she focuses on the crafts part of making, as well as more technical aspects, like laser cutting and Arduino programming. Every student spends a semester in another culture, usually in a third world country. I'm a grad. I spent a semester in Honduras. You learn things about yourself, your culture, your values that you never would have in a classroom. GC is also a great school for the arts--music, theater, art, with two nationally recognized performing venues (Umble Center, Music Center). Strong nursing program, strong communications program, global center for anabaptism, the Mennonite Historical Library and Mennonite Archives. Technology is good. Financial Aid is generous. It's a least debt school.

Working with many people who vary in artistic abilities, she is personable, flexible, and helpful. We are novice painters, and we chose open paint time and decided just to have fun with it. Sandee was extremely accomodating and encouraged us to use her own pieces of art for inspiration. Although she wasn't teaching, Sandee answered our questions and provided us with practical tips. Currently, this is a BYOB establishment, but she talked about waiting on a liquor license to connect to the bar she owns next door. Overall, we had a great time and look forward to coming back again!

Maxx's merchandise for home decor, gifts and trinkets except more unique and a tad bit more expensive. But I love anything unique that's not mass produced with that unique personal touch. But a lot of their merchandise are marked higher than most places. They have a nice variety of selections from jewelry, to baby gifts, home decor, snacks, cute pens and pencils for the office, etc... But if your gift shopping for someone and want a special non generic gift or looking for something unique for yourself and for your home this is the place to go. Their merchandise also comes in different styles from contemporary to traditional pieces which appeals to different tastes. Awesome!!! And their shop is coordinated by color.
