We had a party of 12 and made reservations for 7 pm. We were seated right away and greeted by our server shortly after. We had the tomato and mozzarella sliced salad for an appetizer. It was bland, but a little pepper helped. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, chicken alfredo pasta (I didn't try this one so I won't review), and lasagna. The lasagna was tasty with plenty of cheese and meat. The pepperoni was really good and was loaded as you can see by the picture. Overall we enjoyed our visit. We failed to let our server know that we were on separate checks so there was some confusion there. Since this is family portions I would make sure you do so from the get go. read more

We had dinner at Buca di Beppo's Shenandoah location for first time last night. We've had dinner many times at no closed location on Buffalo Speedway and always enjoyed the great food and family style dining. But our experience at the Shenandoah location was terrible. We walked in at 7:00 PM, the place looked like a ghost town, we only saw two other tables occupied, for a Saturday night that should have been a clue. But after driving thirty-five miles from Houston to meet our daughter and son-in-law we were not leaving. We ordered the Apple Gorgonzola Salad and Fried Mozzarella for starters. The Salad was the highlight of the entire meal; it was excellent and what kept my rating from being One Star. A nice marinara sauce was served with the previously frozen mozzarella triangles, but it could revive the fried cheese. We ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and Quattro al Forno for mains. Three thin, breaded 2" X 4" chicken pieces topped with mozzarella and the same sauce served with the Fried Mozzarella was "OK", but I've had better from the freezer cabinet at the grocery store. The Quattro al Forno was supposed to have Cheese Manicotti, Chicken Cannelloni, Cheese Ravioli & Stuffed Shells, but they didn't have Chicken Cannelloni and offered more of one of the other pastas to be included. It too would have been "OK", but it wasn't served hot throughout the dish. The Manicotti was barely warm, and the Stuffed Shells were cold in the middle. After all of this my wife wanted to try their "Italian Crème Cake" so we shared it between the table. It was a large piece of cake and tons of whipped cream, but the mascarpone was scant. It WAS NOT typical of any Italian Crème Cake I've ever had anywhere, and I've had dozens of Italian Crème Cakes. You'd think a $19 piece of cake would be close to authentic, but it wasn't. Needless to say, I'll never return to Buca di Beppo in Shenandoah, but I doubt they survive much longer. read more

The food was ok, not bad, but not amazing. We had lasagna, the flavor was ok and was slightly dry. The resturant could use a makeover. All the tables and decor is the same from when they first opened. The booth cushions were flat and uncomfortable, the furniture and floors look old and worn down. When the resturant is run down like that, it is concerning that the kitchen and food prep area will be the same. It was a disappointing experience, not the fun, tasty experience I had remembered in the past. read more

I've always wanted to go to a Bucca Di Beppo but I'm sad I didn't like it. I HATE the family style food, too big and everyone wants something different...made me not want to order anything to be honest. Celebrating my son's birthday with the family! Complimentary warm bread was served warm. The Caesar salad was fresh and perfectly dressed--just right. The chicken carbonara was okay, while the prosciutto-stuffed chicken was a bit on the dry side. The stuffed shells ended up being our favorite dish of the night. We are catering from Buca for a baby shower, and they were gracious enough to host us for a tasting. I cannot express enough how delicious the food was. We enjoyed everything we had. Bernie the manager was so knowledgeable and helpful with answering all our questions. Renee our waitress provided exceptional service. Although we were given the option to sit in the kitchen, we chose to sit in the wine room, which was quiet and beautifully decorated. Our experience at Buca di Beppo (19075 IH-45 N, Shenandoah, TX 77385) was deeply disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable. It began with our waiter, Edgardo ("Ed"), promoting a so-called "special menu" that was supposed to save us money. When we did the math, the savings weren't there. When we politely asked for clarification, Ed became dismissive and condescending, insisting we were "overthinking" things instead of taking the time to explain the issue. But it didn't stop there. When I tried to clarify the pricing difference, he refused to listen or apologize. Later, when we asked for another dish (the cannellonis), he said they were out of stock -- something he could have mentioned earlier. This gave the impression that he was either pushing the "special menu" or simply deciding what to serve based on his mood. He also brought complimentary bread, saying "full stomachs make better decisions," which felt like he was rushing us to order. Without us asking, he brought another waitress to take over and left abruptly -- without apologizing -- as if we, the customers, were the problem. The second waitress quickly took sides, treating us as if we didn't understand anything. Rather than providing attentive service (like offering cheese for the pasta or checking on the meal naturally), she repeatedly came to ask if we needed "anything else," disrupting the meal, and even asked if we wanted to box our food barely five minutes after it was served -- while we were still eating. When it came time to pay, I left only a minimal tip due to the poor service, clarifying that it was for the previous waiter, not her -- and she cursed at me as I was leaving. At that point, the entire experience had already crossed the line. As I was explaining the situation to the manager, Ed interrupted our conversation under the pretense of being "concerned for the manager's safety." His demeanor, however, was intimidating and provocative -- as if he was ready to escalate things physically simply because we were discussing his behavior and poor service. Even the manager acknowledged that the situation was out of line and told me to ask for her personally if I ever decided to return. In short, the staff seemed to protect one another and turned a simple misunderstanding into a tense, uncomfortable, and intimidating encounter. We left feeling disrespected -- and we won't be returning. read more

Recently took my son to celebrate birthday. ordered my Lasagna I was disappointed it tasted as it was frozen for days. Tiamisa tasted old. I ordered the Spicy Rigatoni Pasta from Buca di Beppo for lunch and it was amazing! Even with delivery it arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The creamy tomato sauce had the perfect kick, making this one of my favorite pasta dishes in the area. I usually stick to white (Alfredo) sauces, but I'm so glad I tried something new--no regrets at all. I'll definitely be exploring more dishes on their menu after this delicious surprise! read more

The waiter, Ed, was unable to clearly explain the menu or current deals and became impatient when we asked questions. He called another waiter to take over instead of assisting further without apologizing or being respectful. Zero customer service. The complimentary bread was presented by him as if it were negotiable. The fettuccine was dry, with little sauce or flavor. The second waitress came in very rude also and repeatedly checked if we were finished, even though our plates were still half full, and asked if we wanted a to-go box barely ten minutes after the food arrived. At the end, when we spoke to the manager before leaving, Ed approached us during our private conversation in an intimidating manner (looking for a fight) toward my husband and left without apologizing or showing any politeness. I've waited longer at McDonald's. Food was delicious. Very savory sauce, with a definite basil flavor. So why a missing star? Presentation. For some impossibly stupid reason, instead of layering six servings in three stacks, the kitchen layered two (2) stacks of three (3) servings. The top serving looks perfect, and the container had room, so why not make three stacks!!? Mother's Day rules demanded I eat from the soggy bottom layer, which was still delicious. read more

I chose the eggplant parmesan with spaghetti and meat sauce. It was delicious. My daughter chose chicken limón and spaghetti and meat sauce. It was also exceptional. The garlic bread was delicious and we had some sangria with our meal that hit the spot. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It's the Italian "Chilis"!!! food was terrible cold, goopy and salad way over dressed and watery and wilted.. we came years ago and it was an experience to eat here but now you can't even get fresh parmesan cheese (being Italian you would think that's a no brainer) but now its gross fake cheese. Food had no taste and being one who loves to cooks I know our food sat in the back waiting to be served. The chicken fettuccine was a big clump of no flavor white crap and the stuffed shells were hard and dry. The server seemed to disappear for long stretches and obviously didn't want to strain himself by clearing off dirty plates or glasses so we sat with a table full of dirty dishes. Never again!!!!!! I forgot to add pasta to my online order, so I called BDP - the employee who picked up shared that they can't modify online orders, but she wanted to check with the manager. Now, note that most employees would you volunteer to do so themselves without being asked. This employee did. After a few minutes, I was connected to Bernie - the manager. I was getting terribly reception so we got disconnected. Bernie called me back twice - two times! I've never had a manager call me back twice in order to get back in touch. Fried calamari is one to rival! The interior is a blast from the past in a surprising and pleasing way. The service is always great and the food, well the food is delicious! The portions are family sized, which means we always have leftovers because typically we each get our own entree. My parents used to come here for date night, now I enjoy visiting as an adult. This place is everything I love about Italian food. I truly don't know why this place has only three stars. The food is wonderful, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant's interior is designed like a traditional Italian restaurant. The only negative thing I have to say is that the wait time for the food can sometimes be long and may not be ideal for large groups. But if you have the time the food is certainly worth the wait. The food and drinks were great, but not being warned that they had no AC upon entering the building is unacceptable. I saw portable units as I was walked through the restaurant, and started to worry. No mention was made by hostess or waiter. I wish I had gotten up and left, but my out of town guests were excited for the experience. We didn't eat most of our meal from sheer discomfort. Many tables were sat in our area and then moved, not sure if they left or moved to another area, but it seemed all rooms were running on those not effective portable units. For what I spent I am supremely disappointed in this experience. Call to see if AC is repaired before going. Sneaky for them not to have a sign or warn us. Probably will move them far down my list on this experience alone. read more
