My boyfriend and I drove all the way from Chicago just to have a Buc-ees experience together. Where do I begin? We drove here with the intention of eating brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, pecan cranberry chicken salad, pastries, jerky, beaver nuggets, banana pudding, take advantage of the fountain drink machines, and buy cool souvenirs. In one night we were able to cross off all the things on our Buc-ees to do list and Richmond, Kentucky did not disappoint us at all! The place was extremely clean even with countless people walking in and out every second and the employees greeted us with nothing but amazing energy and smiles! This is a monster gas station (not a truck stop because trucks are not allowed) on the highway. It actually seems like more of a big box store than anything else. You can buy all sorts of Buc-ee's-branded clothing and household knick-knacks. You can buy hot food to-go (there is no seating so you have to eat in your vehicle) or any and all kinds of grab-and-go stuff. Just be prepared to stand in line to check out. Don't expect to get gas, use the restroom, and grab a drink and bag of chips in less than 15 minutes. They offer all the much loved typical items: branded everything- apparel, shoes, snacks, jerky, fudge, chips, travel items, decor, seasonal items, and more! I have to give an unexpected shout out to Buc-ee's tonight. Ran by the Richmond location to grab gas and and a pecan log (judge me if you must). Was tire and the hubby decided to grab an Italian sandwich and I snagged to chicken salad to take home. We were both pleasantly surprised! His sandwich had a great meat to bread ratio with good spicy flavor and my chicken salad had a hint of Dijon and was super creamy. We will grab some other foods there in the future. read more

Well this was a fun experience! We don't have Buc-ee's in Indiana, so we had to stop on our road trip to North Carolina. Not only was it the cheapest gas we found during the trip but they literally have everything and anything you could want! Home goods, food, drinks, outdoor supplies- if you forgot something, you'll likely find it here. The bathrooms are also very clean and spacious, which everyone appreciates on a road trip stop. On the road traveling and stopped for gas. WHOAH!! Was not expecting this experience. And it was quite the experience. I was overwhelmed only because I didn't expect this. There are like a million pumps. There was a long carline coming off the hallway to turn in but that was deceptive because there were plenty open pumps. The inside is huge. They have hot food, pastries, drinks. And the checkout moves extremely fast. It was packed with people everywhere. I actually forgot that I had to use the bathroom I was distracted. Oh and outside you can take a picture with Buckee. Great service. You can tell these folks come to work ready to go. I got a lemon bar, red velvet cake pop ($2.99) so delicious and double chocolate cake pop from the bakery. They also had cookies and other pastries. So my Mr. and I dropped by this monster gas station on a Sunday morning. I don't care what time of day it is, they are always going to be packed! If you get anxiety over crowds or can't wait in traffic, this is not the place for you. It's nots easy access to get in and out of. It's super busy and huge! When you go inside, it's like a Walmart but on steroids. You name it, they have it. We had to try the food. Especially the bbq. It smelled so good that we got a brisket sandwich to go. Was it good?! Yes! We could not wait that we ate it in the car right away. Also we Couldn't help ourselves so we bought a couple of souvenirs and more food. Many things went wrong on this stop. 1) The pump quit working after we put 3 gallons in. 2) No Pepsi products. I had to get a fountain drink to get Diet Dr. Pepper because they don't carry the bottle. 3) I stood there at the bakery counter for 5 minutes before the extremely rude lady (who was busy putting muffins on a display tray and then into the case) decided I was worthy of her time. She even made eye contact with me and just kept doing what she was doing. 4) We bought food: two sandwiches; sausage egg and cheese biscuit and a sausage biscuit. Half the sausage egg and cheese ended up sticking to the wrapping. I could have gotten a better sausage biscuit from Wendy's. We bought a sausage and cheese kolche, ate half and threw away the rest. Now I've been to this Buc-ees in Richmond. It's actually bigger than I expected. They even have some cool UK stuff! Typical Buc-ee fare brisket, pulled pork, Texas stuff. But the gas is cheap and the pumps are plentiful. And the best heads/bathrooms on the road! Speaking as one who has land down in Texas, I feel at home every time I walk in a Buc-ees. Compared to a Buc-ee's in Texas, this location is not nearly as big, but is a decent introduction for guests who have not ventured to a Buc-ee's before. The staple food options are there, but it does not have the extended hot food items as one would find in Texas, nor do you have the made-to-order hot menu items, but only what is already prepared and available in the warmer. The washrooms are pretty big, but there aren't as many stalls, and each individual stall is also not as big as you would find in Texas. The southern hospitality that is so pronounced in Texas is missing here. Being the northernmost location for Buc-ee's, it is indeed a little chaotic as guests from the northern US states and Canada come to visit it. It was an easy drive getting here from Toronto, Canada. I'm looking forward to Buc-ee's opening in Ohio in 2025. read more

Wow, it really lives up to the hype! There are 300 gas pumps with gas at a really good price. The bathrooms are plentiful, super clean and upscale for a convenient store. The merch is fun and scattered throughout the store. We were limited on time so I made a mental note to come back before the holidays to do more shopping. I know people collect the tshirts, but I was really there for the food. And I was not disappointed. I bought some beaver nuggets as I heard those were really good. They come in several flavors. Bought several of the Overbites and OMG! If you love chocolate and peanut butter, you are going to love these. Overbite selections included milk chocolate with peanut butter, dark chocolate with peanut butter and a crisped rice version which I guess would be like a Nestlé crunch? Great little treat for $3. They also had a big selection of homemade fudge in any flavors you could want. And hot glazed pecans, almonds and cashews. The chopped brisket sandwich was $7 and was a very generous portion size. That is a must try! My husband had the smoked sausage wrapped in a tortilla on a stick and he said it was really good. We brought home some of the chipotle pimento cheese and the cranberry pecan chicken salad. Both are really tasty and I would get them again. It was a really great experience and I can't wait to visit again. Make sure you take a cooler with you so you can haul all of your food items home. My wife had heard of this business on the news one day; so we decided to check it out ourselves. It's an interesting location; although located like a regular gas station you do have to enter from the back side; definitely interesting set up. Upon arriving seeing all the 100+ gas pumps in itself are amazing. From our first observation it didn't appear to be that busy but the huge parking lot plays into seeming that way. Once we went to park there were literally 100's of cars. The outside of the store itself is festive in Buc-ee's decor with Buc-ee loud and large. As we entered the convenience store we were totally blown away: shopping carts in the store going left & right up and back. It was mind boggling to see all the different merchandise, beverages and foods, foods and foods. Beef jerky wall; deli and sausages; pastry; popcorn, clothes; furnishings; best brisket bbq and the list goes on and on. We just meant to stop in just to look and soon an hour was past. We watched them making the fudge, pastry and brisket right there. The staff all seemed to be having fun and energetic. Involved the shoppers. We also watched them prepare sandwiches of all types. Staff even checked dates the item were made and if beyond time they are removed from being for sale. We ended up buying brisket sandwiches ( which were very tender and sauce was very good; bought a new craft beer to try, a piece of fudge and some beef jerky. Before we left we had to just gaze of all the activities going on by customers and staff. All staff members being nice and helpful and engaged in their job positions. So many of their items made right on site. Oh and 1 last thing we filled up with gas as it was about 10 cents a gallon less then prior and after gas stations as we continued on our way. I'm used to the Buc-ee's in Texas; and while this is Kentucky, this place is still awesome!!! The variety of beef jerky, candy, breakfast foods, lunch and dinner foods, coffee station, drink station....seriously, this is like home away from home. Lol. Went into the Women's restroom looking for a changing table for my kids and one of the workers showed me where it was. It was on the furthest end from the entrance to the restroom. Yes, privacy is nice to have but neither of my kids cared for it too much. But I did like the many stalls in the restroom. The stalls had a regular door with vacant/occupied on the outside, with no holes available for others to peep through. It was very secure and solid. The options that were available were beyond what a normal gas station has. The fact that I spent 30 minutes at this stop ought to say how amazing this place is!! Holy Cow! I was told that Buc-EE's was a destination. It is!! I was overwhelmed by the size of the store to start. The Gad pumps seem to go for miles. We got gas at the modern and clean pumps. Lots of parking for a facility this size. Special traffic patterns make for easy in and out. Once it the store you are completely overwhelmed by the size, selection of stuff and sure energy of all the activity. The store is very clean. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the restrooms. The restrooms have a modern styling. My wife really enjoyed the space inside the stalls - which had a sturdy wooden door! The store just amazes you at what you could buy. Lots of specialized food items including a jerky bar, sweet area and BBQ sandwiches. There is so much other stuff...you just have to experience it yourself. On this visit my wife and I got the turkey BBQ sandwich. It was a bit pricey at $8. However it was very tasty and piled with tender turkey slices. The BBQ sauce was slightly sweet and enough to accent the sandwich without swamping it. The major downside of eating at Buc-EE's...they don't have seating either inside or outside. You pretty much have to dine in your car. We found the team here to be very friendly and helpful. Always heard great things so we finally stopped by on a road trip. Gas bags were plentiful outside with lots of parking. Inside, staff were friendly and food was everywhere! We missed the largest one in Tennessee where were staying but I seen the signs on our travels through Kentucky. We stopped here and let me tell you the experience is unlike any place I've been before. This place is larger than Walmart, more pumps that you can imagine, believe it or not most of the pumps are filled up. 300 pumps which is insane. It's considered the largest convenience store chain in the United States. I walk into the store and you can shop for whatever you can image. They have almost every beef jerky that one can dream of. They have food, candy from current and your childhood days. They have clothes. Merchandise out of the yin yang to purchase. I had a terrific brisket sandwich and some awesome beef jerky. Beef Jerky was $34 for a pound. Our experience was great. They have a sign that explains the salaries and benefits. They're pretty decent. Recommend stopping here if you haven't. Got some sandwiches and they were good. This is a very Texas chain that is (to my knowledge) new to Kentucky as part of what seems to be some very aggressive expansion. This is a colossal gas station, but I was struck by the number of people who were actually parked here, presumably to shop at the substantial convenience store, or visit the restrooms the company so prides itself on. Some people were even taking their picture in front of a blow-up beaver. For me, I just wanted gas, but I will note that if you think you're paying extra at a place like this, you probably aren't. Gas is expensive, for sure, but the big brand stations at the next exit were 25 cents higher than this one, and I didn't see any lower prices anywhere in Richmond. These things fluctuate, but I doubt you'll regret stopping here. I see little use for their branded food items and the place doesn't accommodate trucks or larger vehicles, but as gas and as a rest stop for me, it beats the competition. read more

This was a neat little outting for a Saturday afternoon. A friend and I drove from Cincy because she's OBSESSED with their brisket sandwiches! This was my first time in a Buc-ee's, this location is very new! The restrooms are very well kept. It was a little busy, so it was challenging to get around in some areas(with a cart). As far as shopping opportunities, I was impressed by the great variety of products; I did get myself a super cute, Buc-ee branded t-shirt to commemorate the trip! If you've never heard of them, they are essentially a giant gas station with a huge souvenir section and a phenomenal snack and fountain beverage selection - ICEE's, coffee and soda. They also offer some home decor and other products. For dinner, I had the sliced brisket sandwich - of course! It was indeed very good, though not exceptional to the extent that I would make another four hour drive round trip, just for a sandwich. The fresh chips they have are delicious, nice and crispy, and not excessively salty or greasy. I will definitely stop by again next time I'm passing through the area to try some of their other food options; they offer a variety of both hot and cold products. I had the banana pudding for dessert, it was delicious and I would gladly have it again! I look forward to trying all the other Buc-ee brand snacks I bought.
