Americas #1 rest stop. In addition to all of the wonderful things others have shared, I'll add that there are excellent dog relief areas in the more remote parts of the parking lot. We actually made a small detour on our way down to the panhandle to stop at Buc-ees not only for the dogs but also for an excellent restroom and all kinds of things we didn't need. This time I also tried the Beaver chips for the first time. I really can't say no to a warm, freshly cut house made potato chip, and these did not disappoint. Travel Tip: Stop here if you're going to Atlanta Airport. A piece of paper? We were in the process of buying ~$100 worth of brisket, pulled pork, and jerky. My wife had another ~$100 worth of merchandise in a tote for the grandchildren. The lady at the meat counter 'gave' me two containers of BBQ sauce to go with the meat. One of them was leaking. She offered to replace it but I did not want a spill. Looking around, there was a stack of papers used to wrap sandwiches. Thinking the papers were water resistant, I asked for a sheet to wrap the sauce in to contain any leaks. I was told that was not authorized. Then I saw the plastic boxes that are used for other sandwiches and asked for one of those. I was told that was not authorized. Then I saw the box of nitrile gloves the food prep staff use and asked for a single glove. I was told that was not authorized. While asking for an explanation of why "that was not authorized," I was told that was company policy and no deviations were allowed regardless of reason. This made no sense. The lady then said the man behind you can explain the policy. I turned around to see the Assistant General Manager of the store. When asked the same questions, he stated emphatically that "the owners of Buckeye's had decreed that he did not have the authority to give out a single piece of paper to contain sticky BBQ sauce." Really? I asked the man to clarify that it was the policy of BucEee's to lose a $200 sale over a piece of paper? Indeed, you can't be serious. He was dead serious and said he could be fired for giving me a piece of paper or a nitrile glove. I had no idea that the count of individual gloves in a box was monitored to the degree that the loss of a single glove would be noted and someone might be fired. I wonder how much time is spent daily counting the leftover gloves, sheets of paper, and sandwich boxes and reconciling them with cash register receipts to ensure that nothing was given to a customer that did not result in a charge. I asked one final time because I could not believe what was happening to be sure, I understood that Bucee's would rather lose a $200 sale over a piece of paper and that he did not have the authority to authorize giving out a piece of paper, a sandwich box or a single nitrile groove. He affirmed that the policy came from the owners, he had no such authority, and if it meant losing a sale - so be it. Goodbye Bucees. read more

I have stopped at so many Bucees and this is one of the worst. I purchased a sandwich and when I went to eat it it was disgusting. Horrible. Fell apart. Was soggy and wet. So asked to speak to management. Management came and said there was nothing they could do about it. People need to start realizing this place is not all it is cracked up to be. Just because people stop here does not make it good. Save your money. And after one trip or two it becomes old. The same stuff all the time and the same soggy nasty sandwiches. I guess the part that bothers me the most is that when I showed the management the soggy sandwich they did not even offer to replace it. I think that they need to allow people in management positions to be able to solve problems and find solutions. I spoke to three different people who were managers at that Buckys And not one of them could help. We are through here, almost weekly, but have a very small dog, when the weather started getting hot I asked the employee if I hold her is there anything issue going to the restroom and also purchasing items they said no we have been doing that for 2 1/2 months like I said I'm through here almost Weekly if not every other week today and employee was extremely rude and told me I had to leave immediately so did not purchase anything. Normally I go out there with the minimum of $100. The dog wasn't bothering anybody around the biggest issue is some employees are not aware of the policy because I did ask, we'll find another place. Came here for a quick stop during my travel. It was very busy even at 7am. Got a breakfast egg, bacon and cheese biscuit. Nope. Don't need the breakfast sandwich. The biscuit was doughy, egg was OK, bacon was good and cheese not melted . I really tried to eat it. The sauage croissant was no better. The place is really nice and clean. I'm pretty sure I gained 5 lbs just walking through the door! I thought I had picked up a bbq brisket sandwich but it turned out to be a 3 meat sandwich with brisket, turkey, and sausage. It was delicious! I also picked up a banana pudding which was really tasty. I actually got the regular size but wished I had bought the smaller container. It was more than I could eat. I bought a 7 layer cookie for the next morning's breakfast which was really good. It was a little crumbly, but I didn't waste a morsel! Our friend in NOLA recommends that we make a stop at Buc-ee's if we pass one on our way to Charlotte, NC. We found one in Auburn, AL conveniently located on I-85. It was our first time and it was an eye-opening experience. We were driving cross-country from VA to CA and this was our return trip home. So needless to say we experienced a multitude of rest stops along the way. It was the cleanest and very spacious with art hanging in the rest area. You can pick up snacks, drinks, food both hot and cold, pastries, and fresh fudge along with Buc-ee's merchandise, fire pits, or smokers, it goes on and on. This is my third Buc ee's location I've been to. This one is now in my hometown. I had the sliced turkey sandwich, it was very good. I'm still a bigger fan of the pulled pork, but the turkey gets a thumbs up. I also had the Keylime pie in a cup, it was pretty good, but very tart. Bought cookies from the bakery area for the first time, definitely a thumbs up. Tasted very fresh and from scratch. The store was clean as always for every location I've been to and the staff was very friendly. I went at about 7:45 PM and it was busy but not crazy busy. They also need to be salted. -Fresh Fruit: your average fruit cup 4/5 -Sodas: 5/5! They have a lot of unique options that are with cane sugar and not high fructose. Love the Black Cherry and Bucees lemonade. I've been to this location plenty times and last night I received the most subpar customer service ever. The staff seemed annoyed that I was there. I understand that it was midnight on a Monday, but this is Buc-ee's - they're known for many things, including customer service. The young woman at the bakery felt the need to finish off her conversations before she could help me. Also the young woman at the register rushed my check out, didn't give me napkins, and as soon as my card went through she walked away. I wasn't offered my receipt or anything napkins. Great gas station very entertaining to be a gas stations. It's definitely full service and good food.

Between this and the Warner Robbins location, this is closer at least AND on the way to Costco so that's a bonus. Buc-ees is considered to be the Disneyland/world of the south; prices add up and it might not be for everyone. Restrooms are clean but let's be honest, we really just tried to get there for the brisket tacos this morning. We have been to other locations (including Texas) so if we're really going to compare this one is ok. Food wise I'm not sure if this is a recent change but the breakfast brisket tacos seemed to have more egg than brisket which is ok I suppose but it was also a bit overwhelming as the eggs were not exactly a hard scramble- still on the fairly soft scramble. We also picked up fried apple pies, beaver tots (not sure if it was just our bag but they were very soggy. Just get the beaver chips at lunch if anything), key lime pie, and a breakfast burrito. 4/5 because location is closer to where we live and there's a bit more to do in the Auburn area if you're looking for a day trip. 3.5/5 regarding food because something about it this time around was just ok but did the job 5/5 for cleanliness- we got there at a decent hour and just before the travel and lunch rush so it really wasn't as packed as most other places can be read more
