You can pick between bread, salad or grain salad. I love doing half grain and half salad. Dressing and flavor on both is excellent. Protein options are also so solid. Steak was so tender. Tuna was so fresh. Peri peri chicken was flavored so well. I love this spot and went every day during my 4 day trip in Barcelona. Outside of the entrees, the snacks are also yummy. I loved their brownie and mousse. Great concept and vibes. Only downside is it gets packed and service is not the most effective. Order online to skip the line!

I first had the opportunity to try Basque cuisine about 5-6 years ago during a work trip to Boise,…read moreIdaho (home to one of the largest Basque communities outside of the Basque Country in France and Spain). That meal turned out to be one of the highlights of that trip, so I was ecstatic to find a Basque restaurant near my hotel in Barcelona. I quickly beelined over to the restaurant for a solo dinner that delivered in spades. While both the service and ambience was satisfactory, the food is what truly mesmerized me and singlehandedly salvaged an otherwise dull day that I had spent resting and recuperating from Barcelona's stealth attack on my sinuses. Le sigh. In terms of the food, the tomato and tuna belly salad was refreshing and delightful. The octopus and pig's feet carpaccio was hands down the single best dish I ate in Spain. The richness of the dish along with the texture and exquisite flavor was akin to eating a gourmet version of souse (or hog's head cheese), which I grew up eating in the US Deep South. I ended the meal on a high note with Basque cheesecake. In summary, here are my final thoughts on this remarkable three course meal: Perfecto! Me gusta mucho Cocina del País Vasco!

Paella was large and great but the meat texture was dry and chalky (not the seafood but the pork meat) contradicted the moist and chewiness of the rice and the seafood - we also found some bone fragments in the meat.

As usual, the presentation was beautiful & the dishes themselves were delicious. They seem to have reasonably priced foods (considering this is an expensive area... in reality, it's kinda pricey), and a variety of pressed or blended juices and smoothies. I've been getting the Green Detox drink that has spinach, kale, and some other things... it's just under 5euros - so about on par with a pressed juice i could get in LA. The restaurant itself is bright and modern looking, and the outside terrassa has protective black & clear vinyl walls to keep you from freezing in the cold winter... Well-lit, wide space, and beautiful calming aesthetic to take you away from the touristy Las Ramblas right nearby. I went straight for Teresa's Favorite Kale Salad (€12) and their Mango & Avocado Tartar (€11), only to realize the latter was essentially already included in my salad. The large bowl of salad had a mix of kale (duh), tomatoes, sprouts, avocado, nori sheets, mango, and radishes. It was fresh, delicious, and much needed after a week of eating nonstop paella. Service was friendly but a bit slow. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our food to come out even though it wasn't busy, but that may just be the Spanish culture.
