Loved everything I'd read about Bubi's. Arrived too early one night, so came back the next. Was very eager to have the Roman classic Cacio e Pepe. Which was on the menu. There was a beautiful basket of bread on the table, with BUTTER! The artichoke salad was spectacular. BUT--what they served as Cacio e Pepe was, basically, fried cheese balls. I don't get it.
Bread, which was on the table when I sat, was charged at €2. Water also €2. Minor add-ons. Since it was clear their version of Cacio e Pepe was not remotely what I expected and not eaten, I'd have thought they'd delete it from my tab. Nope.
Other than that misunderstanding, the food and ambience were lovely. If I lived here, I'd give 'em another try. But definitely NOT for Cacio e Pepe. read more
