Taking him anywhere outside our house is an event, especially the groomer or the vet (his least two favorite places). Furry Essentials Grooming Salon always does a great job. Michelle texts me anytime something happens with Cooper whether it is a seizure and asking me how I want to proceed, or a positive thing like hanging out with his buddy Ross (a member of the FE Grooming team). She is always going above and beyond to ensure Cooper, Liz, and I feel comfortable. Today, Michelle went above and beyond even more than she usually does. I was taking Cooper to get groomed and he was having a particularly difficult time with it. He pooped in my car because he was so scared and spent the majority of the ride in my lap, panting and his little heart racing. When I got there, I was waiting outside my car in the driveway to drop Cooper off (COVID makes it so you cannot go in). Little did I know, he was pooping while I was holding him! This has never happened before, so I stepped in it, not knowing. Michelle came out and saw what had happened and kindly took my shoe to clean it off. By the time she came back, Cooper had pooped AGAIN while I was holding him (and almost on my foot). I was mortified and I felt so bad!!!! Michelle reassured me it was okay and cleaned it up even though I offered to do it myself. She spoke with me about having Ross groom Cooper to help his anxiety (instead of someone else) and the team shifted their plan to accommodate that. She also cleaned up the driveway for me and told me she would get Cooper in the tub and get him done quickly to try and minimize stress and avoid him having a seizure. I am so grateful for Michelle and her team. It was definitely one of those fur mom mornings where I felt terrible and just wanted to cry. I always hate bringing Cooper to the vet or groomer because I know how petrified he is to be there and the poop disaster just added to the stress today. Michelle and her team were kind, compassionate, and accommodating of my chronically anxious and difficult fur baby. Thank you, Michelle, Ross, and the Furry Essentials Grooming Salon team for making this morning much better than it could have been! You are incredible and this is why we drive 25 minutes from Oxford to come to you whenever our dogs need to be groomed. We appreciate you going above and beyond!!! I highly recommend Furry Essentials Grooming Salon for any of your grooming needs!

I have 4 dogs with all different kinds of issues and allergies to food. Its been extremely challenging finding the food that doesn't bother them all and I can free feed them from the same dishes without worry. Fortunately I found the right brand (Origen if you haven't gotten them on this brand, then do it soon - its worth the high price tag for dry food-seriously no joke) They sell it at basic retail price - probably lower than you will find without going on the interwebs..so that comfort to your wallet. They have all of the Lupine collars, harnesses and leashes - another brand if you haven't caught on to ... you are what they call "behind the times" in the doggie world. Great selection of (expensive) toys from all the top brands and lots of selections on treats ( especially those that don't bother their bellies - and are low in calories) As far as the service goes - I noticed the sort of standoff-ish mean high school girl stares, ,,,from high school girls ..but was met with with much more pleasant service from another staff member that checked me out and made sure I knew about the frequent buyers program that oriijen does ( Fromm and some other good pet food companies do it) I was impressed as I was going to ask her about it first, and they will actually keep your receipts there as proof of purchase so you dont have to snip and save the barcode UPCs on the bags.. After 12 bags you get a free one. I know I've totally thrown out tons of these! So that was a nice touch that will have me coming back.

When we entered the exam room I handed the tech and said my vet wanted it checked for parasites. The veterinarian came in and was very attentive to Parker. She examined him, checked his vitals and asked appropriate questions. The tech re-entered the room and announced he checked Parker's stool sample and it found no worms. I was puzzled and reminded him it needed to be checked for parasites; he nodded and said it will be sent out for testing. A week later I called for the results, having heard nothing and was informed I did not bring a sample with me. Subsequently, I received a call from the vet who apologized and said the stool sample had been discarded rather than sent out for testing. In the meantime a 2nd dog became ill and was hit harder, and lasted longer, than the virus had been for my puppy. I want to make it clear that in no way do I blame the vet. I repeated to the tech when the vet left the room that the sample had to be sent out and checked for parasites to which he confirmed knowing and was going to send it out to the lab. When I was ready to leave, this same tech helped me out to my car. I again reminded him the stool sample had to be checked for parasites to which he responded in the affirmative and said it was all set to go to the lab. His error resulted in almost a month's delay, obtaining a new sample, paying another veterinarian to send the sample for testing, on a rush basis, and getting a positive result for a particular parasite. My puppy is now being treated, finally! If I need the services of this clinic again I will certainly accept an appointment, but I will request the tech not be involved in any future appointments.
