I had passed Washtenaw Auto Wash recently and figured I would roll on by when my car needed some extra TLC. After a long road trip (300+ miles in one morning -- love my little hatchback!) I decided to go the extra mile to Washtenaw and get the grime off my my ride. I passed by several industrial-strength vacuums as I approached the entry to the wash. They're 50 cents apiece, but I'll have to try them on my next go-around as I didn't have change today. I pulled up to the wash and saw -- CASH ONLY. It's written in caps, and I'll do the same so you know to have some greenbacks with you when you come. For just $5 I had two guys make sure to de-bug my front grill and get the tar off of the bottom of my bumpers. I then relaxed while my car whooshed down the conveyor belt and got sudsy and clean. Overall, a great price and a solid wash. The need for cash is a little inconvenient, and I didn't see that this place is open 24/7, but despite the minor inconveniences, I'll be back!

The self spray section is located behind the automated wash and is open for use 24 hours a day which is nice. The self spray cost $2.00 to use and the machine only takes quarters. You should get about 3 minutes of use before the machine will beep for more quarters to add time. There is a cash exchange machine but, you can only exchange $1 and $5 notes. Higher notes will have to be exchanged at the office of the auto wash section. The place works, but it could be better. The cash exchangers could be better since they often seem to break down and can't accept bills above $5. Also, $2.00 for about 3 minutes is steep. You should get more time for the cost in quarters. Overall, if you want to get a self spray clean it's there and it works.

Sure it might clean up the middle.. maybe even the top of your car (if its a sedan), but the bottom of the doors and closer to the tires typically remain dirty afterward. I'd assume because some of the soap solution is cheap or the machines don't properly repeat and/or cover the entire vehicle. Overall good, but not great by any means. If you don't care about swirls on the paint, go to a damn Jax car wash instead lol. --- Manual carwash: Lasts only a few minutes of, which is only enough time to rinse, tire clean, soap down once, and wax. There's not enough time to dry the vehicle using the air hose or use any other feature in 1 cycle. This runs you about $5 per cycle (at the time of writing this), which you'll need to purchase 2 for anything that's larger than a sedan or take full advantage of the manual carwash. Also good overall, but it doesn't seem to use great soap. I'd only go here if you need to blast your car with a pressure washer due to thick mud or dirt buildup. In general, there's still sediment and dirt that's not properly taken off your car for BOTH types of washes
