The Zippy's Car Wash on Jackson Road/BakerRoad and on Eisenhower, just east of State Street have both done an amazing job washing. My car is exterior. The people manning the pre-wash have an excellent attention to detail of getting the grim and dirt off hard to reach areas. It's also great that they have free drying cloths and air nozzles to blow off/dry off your car, as well as strong vacuums for the interior of your car... All free! My car was covered in bugs from a long road trip. I went through the wash once and the bugs were still on my bottom rail and windows. If you aren't satisfied with the wash, you can go back in for free until you're satisfied. I went in for a second wash and the bugs were still there. I ended up scraping the bugs off myself, but I appreciated that the second wash was free. They have free vacuums and cloth wipes for use outside of the wash. They also have air jets and glass wipes if you ask for them. Overall, would come back for a simple clean but might look elsewhere for bug removal. read more

I tend to hit this Zippy location when I'm out that way taking trash and/or various items to the dump or my dogs to the dog park, both down the road on Elsworth. So yeah, my car, when I'm out that way, is usually a mess of either dirt/debris or dog fur and mud (sometimes both!). Zippy's is usually a reliable spot to help me get my car back in order. Shout out to the FREE vacuums, easy drive thru with self-pay kiosks, and the several levels of wash options from base to fancy schmancy. I do a lot of driving so I don't always go "fancy shmancy" since it just gets messy again within a day or so but if you wanted to go big, you could. Zippy's in Saline, vaguely pre-sprays your car. If you have a truck, they don't touch running boards or the back bumper either. Very disappointed, we live in a rural area, have a monthly membership, and feel the pre-sprayers could at least pay some attention to detail. This car wash gave me one of the most pleasant car washing experiences I've ever had. How you could review an establishment like this one star is beyond me. You must have no soul. Zippy auto wash has copious, vacuuming, and air compressor stations loaded with soft and supple microfibre towels. Best of all, they are complementary and function beautifully. The car wash is reasonably priced and even the $12 silver wash gets the job done. You are supposed to vacuum your vehicle and dry your vehicle with the cloths after it is washed. I have gone to all the zippy car washes for years, since they opened. I've never had a problem and the service is great. But I see a lot of whining here. How close you are to the car in front of you is YOUR choice, drive a little slower coming in to leave more space. Those "suds" are car wax and a slightly damp car that will dry as you drive is a minor problem. They have station where you can dry it and the vacuum is free. If you want perfection, go home and spend 2 hours on it. Life is what you make it folks. read more

I go here because it's close to my work. The lines are long, probably because of their monthly washing plans, and they pack you in the car wash like sardines. Don't dilly dally at the end or you might get rear ended! The car is never clean in the back, NEVER. I usually go through the wash because it really needs to be 'mostly clean' or I'm using the rewash ticket 3 days later, because washing your car usually means it's going to rain either that day or a day later. I've tried wiping it off as soon as I get to work two blocks later, but it just makes a smeared streaky mess. The back still isn't clean after the second run through, and normally the rear view mirrors aren't either. I don't even know about how the undercarriage is. read more

I'm not one to leave overtly critical reviews, but this place definitely warrants one. It was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Workers signaled for cars to line up so close to each other, and it was hard to gauge the distance between them through the soapy windows. If my car did not have sensors, I likely would have hit someone. The car attendant yelled at me for not putting my car in neutral fast enough. He yelled, "What are you doing?!" And rolled his eyes. I understand his frustration, but that is absolutely no way to treat a paying customer. The wash didn't even get all of the bug stains off, either. I would come back to try the self service wash if my first experience hadn't left me terrified. If I knew how it would be, I would've saved $20 and washed my car myself. read more

I went in as a first time customer to buy a fast pass and the manager interrupted the employee I was working with and claimed he had seen my car before and so would not give me the rate. My name and phone number were not in the system and I have never bought a pass there before but the manager was incredibly rude and refused to give me the pass for the $1 for first month deal they have posted everywhere. The first time I visited I came with a car that had some caked on nature from the car sitting outside all fall and winter so when it didn't clean my car I was annoyed but figured it was just too much. Well today I got the premium and windshield is still covered in bugs, couldnt even get the bird poop off my hood at the Saline location You get a free $7.99 off with your receipt if used within 3 days so I went to the Ellsworth location and got a bronze wash, also didnt get the bird poop or bugs. Zippy made over $120 in fraudulent charges on my credit card and refused to refund it. They admitted the mistake but said they are not capable of returning the money. They offered me it back as a gift card only. I've never experienced anything like it. Maybe the owner is having financial troubles and is making false charges to float his finances for a while longer? I had to file a police report in order for my credit card to take action against them. read more

my son's wheelchair 2023 1 week new van has many thousands of dollars of damage after going through zippy car wash in July 2023. I had the kid working there take pictures immediately after exiting and I filled out paperwork. I could hear the strip on roof come off and whip the car. the antenna was broken and damage to trunk was visible. It was 7 at night so at 8 in morning I took it to the body shop they recommended and they also took pictures. my insurance company has tried for months to contact them and their insurance company. they refuse to comply and insist their car wash could never damage the car. I have never been taken advantage of by a company before much less for my disabled son. The owner should be ashamed. read more

Absolutely terrible. There was ice covering the car and we wanted to get most of it off the roof and mirrors of the car. the car wash promised scorching water that would melt the ice in seconds. the water was hot but not so hot that the ice melted completely. it melted... down the sides of all the windows and giving the 5 degree weather outside had frozen, leaving streaks of ice down the all the windows leading to a rather unsafe drive back home. the customer service wasn't much better than the car wash itself. the man at the front of the car wash half-heartedly spayed the car down only getting one side of the car actually hose down. do not recommend. there are so many more superior car washes near by that could get the job done cheaper and better. read more

Every time I pull in here and buy a $14 car wash nobody will ever wash the car mats. These people are so lazy hiding. you are exiting they will wash your car mats. Average. My car was BAD (so I didn't expect 100% clean) from driving up north round trip 2x, but the "Supreme" wash didn't even completely remove bird poop from my windshield... which was surprising. It would probably be more worth it for a fast pass. You get a free bronze wash with your Supreme wash within 3 days (or $7.99 off another tier) so I made another pass. Bird poop still there. I wish there was another wash here that did a more dedicated job :/ read more

I thought the scratches were potentially from the car wash the first time, but i gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe I had brushed up against some branches or something. I went back to the car wash a second time (should never have done that), and sure enough, immediately after the wash there were twice as many scratches and it was twice as bad. read more

Very busy location but workers are efficient and get you through, if drivers aren't too shy to go through the wash, bumper to bumper. They like to pack them in. The rinse is still terrible and the drying is lacking too. For the monthly membership, it's not as efficient at rinsing and drying as it should be. Especially for your side view mirrors and back window if there is a lip over it. There are a small number of vacuums available and the entering cross traffic at the exit is a little nerve-racking when you have another vehicle on your tail. Sometimes people will sit at the exit, trying to cross traffic coming into the entrance, to get to a vacuum. Good layout to get car into the carwash. Not so much to get them out. This location gets the most traffic - however, there is another location on Jackson Rd. west side of town. read more

I have been going to zippy auto wash ever since they started the unlimited washes for $30 a month, about 5 years? I even worked there for a few years, until my knee's complained to loudly. I feel bad for the lady that had a bad experience with employee 'Tim'. If it's any consolation you were not the only person that had that type of problem. That person no longer works there. The owner is very much a hands on type of manager. As far as packing the cars in like sardines I look at it like, hey, most the cars have monthly passes and have already paid, so why rush and pack them it? Answer simple, so we won't have to wait so long to get to OUR car washed. In all the years I've been going there my car has never gotten a scratch from this car wash. But then I can only talk for myself. Zippy uses 21st century equipment and technology. I haven't found a better car wash anywhere in the area. read more

Not great but good enough. I've washed my car here twice, once on the silver and once on the gold tiers. As my photos show, both times there was noticeable grim still on my car. I think their setup just somehow doesn't cover the entirety of your vehicle. My side mirrors both came out dirty (maybe 50% cleaned in random patterns) and the area of my upper side windows and top of the door are both pretty untouched. I drive a Vibe so I don't know why it wouldn't completely clean my car, but it's disappointing that it doesn't because otherwise it would be a pretty convenient place for me. I'll probably come back in a pinch but as far as car washes go this has about the same quality as a gas station car wash. read more

My hubby has been alternating between a do it yourself car wash and this place. I think it's great to have extra options, and the convenience of sitting there and watching all the machinery wash the car. Kind of fun for a mechanical engineer. Maybe I'll take my own car through someday. It's as easy as getting that thing into neutral before the car wash takes over control of your vehicle. I really wanted to like this car wash, and I had even bought the unlimited car wash pass. I had to cancel my pass after the last wash left two scratches roughly 3 feet long on the side of my truck. I filed a damage report with them, but they denied the claim and stated that the "Envirosft foam is physically incapable of scratching, chipping, or otherwise altering the vehicles finish". While they sound confident in the statement, I am not. I know that it was from their car wash and not my fault, nor was I scraped by another vehicle. The two scrapes run perfectly parallel to each other for 3 feet. I drive a 2017 Silverado truck, and if you look on the door panels there is a small trim piece. The scrape occurs along the piece of trim as well as a few inches above that trim. As the trim piece sticks out a quarter of an inch off the door, it is impossible for any one object to have made those two scrapes with out any damage in the middle of them. I have seen other reports of damage here and should have listened to other reviews. read more

I recently bought a monthly pass for Zippy car wash and am fairly pleased. The economics of the monthly pass don't exactly work out unless you wash more than once a week. Their single car was price is above what it should be, thus making the monthly pass look like a no brainer. I do enjoy and attach a dollar value to the enjoyment of not having to open my wallet for a car wash so I feel the monthly deal is fine. Like any automatic carwash, especially ones that touch the car, I would not drive a nice car through here. The sandpaper effect is greatly minimized by the pre-wash guys that spray your car before it enters, but I still don't trust it with a car that I care about swirls and small scratches. That being said the wash quality is quite good. If the best gas station wash ( say the touchless BP on Washtenaw) is a 6 I would say this Zippy location is an 8 for cleanliness. The wheels come out great and I feel the under body wash is sufficient. Like most auto car washes the back of the car does not get clean here and you will ALWAYS have soap left on the car. There is also no way around having spots because the drying process does not even close to fully dry either. read more

The wash itself is mediocre and the undercarriage spray rarely gets all the snow off...The spinning sponges of dirt have left scratches on my car and the blow dry vents get a "P" for participation; I always bring a towel to dry. The vacuums are good and $1 lasts you enough time to do mats individually and the interior. The physical layout makes pulling out of the vacuum stalls sometimes tricky if the line is long and people are trying to exit. Also, the exit onto Ellsworth can sometimes take a minute depending on traffic. Verdict: If you are looking for an average, quick wash, this is the place. Vacuums are good value. However, if you are west of AA, I would go to their other location. It's usually less crowded and is better laid out. read more
