The style has lasted which means it's a good cut...true test is time. I had my haircut by an excellent, seasoned stylist at a Vidal Sasoon Salon in Chicago years ago and that style and cut lasted a little less than a year. THAT'S when you know you have a good cut. Four months after my last cut and I still get compliments! I have an appointment tomorrow at their new location (in the DMV shopping center on Wappoo and Ashley River Rd.) where there is PLENTY OF PARKING. I even took my daughters here because Brittany does such a great job and takes her time. Also, the other ladies with whom I spoke who work here are very pleasant, interesting and down to earth. I called to book an appointment and they were very friendly. I drove up to Harmony Salon and it was anything but harmonious. It was in a strip mall next to a Chinese restaurant. I walked in to a "salon" that was totally disheveled. It was missing paint and left my longing for something as glamorous as a Super Cuts. I was greeted by my stylist and proceeded back to a chair to discuss the cut I would like. I thought we had established a good understanding of what I wanted. Then I went back to the shampoo bowl to have my hair washed and to receive my conditioning treatment. She was very diligent in washing my hair and it didn't really bother me that she didn't quite get the bottom of my hairline. The conditioning treatment was very nice and thoroughly enjoyable. While my hair was being washed, I noticed a middle aged blond woman in a somewhat secluded area having her hair cut. Then I proceeded to realize that a majority of the salons patrons were seniors. We agreed that she would take off an inch and a half. I must have lost at least several inches because it was drastically shorter than I wanted. My formerly waist length hair was now at my shoulder blades. Also, she cut my long bangs so short than I can't style them the way I explained to her. The only reason I am giving this salon two stars is because they were very friendly. They even gave me some referral cards at the end of my appointment so they can drum up some business. I couldn't subject anyone to the type of haircut I had, no matter how cheap it is.

Trying to be conscious of her time, I basically said "Do whatever you want." Well, she made sure that we worked together to find something I would like and by gosh, a wash, trim, blow dry, more trimming later, and a bit of styling later, I left feeling SO MUCH better.
