We just love Bubbles! We've been taking our children there since they were tiny and have always been hugely impressed. The structured sessions are great: fun, creative and always age-appropriate. And open play is a fantastic way to work off the kids' excess energy, especially in hot, cold or wet weather. So I have been to a few other play spaces and this one is my favorite! Especially for the age of my child. This is great for smaller children. They don't get run over by the bigger kids and I am not worried about them falling off anything:) The space is clean and has a lot of toys. The staff is phenomenal. The front desk staff is warm and welcoming to adults and children. The teachers remember their students and treat them all equally and with so much love. My daughter feels so loved by them which in turn makes her love them even more. Ms brittney Has created such a safe learning environment. The kids feel secure enough to take risks to learn. She also respectfully teaches them how to behave without causing them to feel ashamed of their mistake or bad choice. Curriculum and teaching styles/methods are also out of this world. Using quantum learning styles with this age group is awesome. Kids respond very well to the positive environment. Play with intent and focusing on not overwhelming the kids but offering choice. Teachers know the material- no need to pause about what comes next. Continuously adding in more content and knowing when to stop and let the little brains rest. I can't say enough wonderful things about the preschool classes we've taken. Bubbles is a wonderful place for taking your kids to engage them in music. We started when my son was about 5 months. We have also taken classes at the Old Town School of Folk Music in LP, which we enjoyed as well, however, I prefer Bubbles. They have a huge parking lot which makes coming to class with little ones very convenient. Also, the staff is remarkable, friendly and always upbeat. Our favorite teach is Sarah! We had our son's first birthday party here too and everything ran so smoothly because of the staff. We really didn't have to do ANYTHING during the party, it was great. I highly recommend birthdays/events here, esp. since the space is very large and can accommodate a lot of friends and family. A hidden treasure in the city! read more

Bubbles had a great Groupon deal for six open play visits for $33 (usual price is $60) and we finally got ourselves over here. The open play area is a huge room with lots of soft playground equipment. My daughter enjoyed walking around and exploring the various toys and play costumes. When we walked in, the lady at the desk was very nice and got us registered quickly. Overall, this is a fantastic place to let your little one get their energy out. It's also a good venue if you want to catch up with a fellow mom friend while keeping your eye out for your child. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Bubbles Academy! I've been bringing my little guy here for classes since he was 4 months old. Bubbles offers a broad range of classes for even the littlest kiddos including music, sensory art, and core development. I've taken classes with most the teachers there and I have to say that Kim is BY FAR the best. Kim is patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable about child development! I love the flow of her classes and that no matter how large or small the class size she takes the time to give each parent/baby individual attention without taking away from the class. As a new-ish stay at home mom, this place has been my savior on more than one occasion especially during the bitter winter months! Since my little guy is a little too young to really benefit from a class, we have just gone here for open play and it's been just what my guy needs to get the crazy out. During the week, open play is in the big room on the main level and they do a great job keeping the space clean & constantly changing out the selection of toys. The only thing I'd change would the hours (1-5pm during the week.) I think it's in the afternoon because they have classes in the morning(?) but oh well.....it's still great. On the weekend, open play is upstairs in a smaller room but still fun. Since I don't take any classes now, I've just been buying an open play punch card ($60 for six punches) and it's well worth it! read more

My review of Bubbles is long overdue. My twin daughters have taken multiple classes at Bubbles for years now. They always loved seeing Miss Brittny and I found the classes to be fun, developmentally appropriate and of course, the facilities were clean. We took classes all over the city, and after doing so, I bought the unlimited class pack at Bubbles because I found their classes to be the best. My girls are in preschool now and we've moved away from attending Bubbles everyday but I very much appreciate everything the Bubbles preschool prep program did to prepare my little ones for preschool. My daughters' current teachers have commented on how comfortable and well adjusted socially the girls are in class now. I credit Bubbles with helping them achieve this. Regarding the negative comments about children getting sick at Bubbles, as a pharmacist I know that a lot of viruses are spread through airborne particles by sneezing, coughing and even TALKING. Hand washing and sanitizing will help. (I'm pretty sure Bubbles sanitizes everyday.) HOWEVER, your children can get sick anywhere. My girls did have to skip some classes because of runny noses and colds, thankfully, bubbles has an amazing makeup policy. Now that they are older they are much more resistant to getting sick. If we hadn't gone Bubbles I feel like they would be missing much more Preschool which doesn't have makeup days. Your children will get sick, it's a part of growing up. Wash their hands before and after class. Enjoy this time. Before you know it, your kids will be too old for Bubbles. read more

Love Bubbles! My first scheduled venture with my baby when she was six weeks old was Miss Lauren's Babies Music class. Loved it. My daughter loved it - her favorite part of the week, and that's magic for a "colicky" baby. Miss Lauren is patient, has a fantastic voice and acclimation to all the babies. Bubbles is easy to access, HUGE, great clean facilities, lots of toys, very sensory: rattles, bells, stuffed toys, murals, sounds, bubbles, colorful parachute. Helped me get comfortable getting out of the house alone as a new Mom. We went to Bubbles for 4 months before I went back to work. Taught me a lot of things to do at home with a new baby. read more

So we've taken our 14 mo daughter to a variety of places including old town music and gymboree. While those places are good, Bubbles is slightly better. I like Sarah. She captivated all the kids when she played the guitar and sang. The facility is nice and large and CLEAN :). Easy parking lot is a plus in the neighborhood and you can do shopping and lunch at the WholeFoods after class on a Saturday. I highly recommend you do a trial class (I think 1 is free). You'll never go elsewhere. read more

I want to like this place I really, really do. But, the last 3 times I've taken my son here he's come down with a cold (this last one was quite severe). I know kids can pick up germs anywhere but I also do not feel comfortable with Bubbles policy on disinfecting toys if they have gone into a little ones mouth (which happens ALL the time). If you want to stay healthy I'd go to Musical Magic in Roscoe Village instead. They are super clean and clean all toys after class that you've dropped in the "drool bag". read more

Bubbles Stroller Fitness I have been attending stroller fitness class through Bubbles for the last 4.5 years with at least one of my 3 children. There isn't a better fitness class in the city! Outside of the free childcare and wonderful caregivers, the actual workouts are very challenging for all levels of fitness. It's definitely a mixed group of new moms, long-time members and those new to exercise but Kim makes it works for everyone. Definitely worth checking out - especially since your first class is free - after that, you'll be hooked. read more

I recommend bubbles to every mom I meet. The space is great, big and clean. The instructors giving the classes are all very nice, and they make you feel very comfortable and they always remember your kid'a name, which with all the kids they see every day is pretty impressive. They have a lot a toys for the kids to play with, and the classes are a lot of fun. They have free valet, which is very practical. My favorite teacher is Kim. I enjoy her classes a lot. She is always giving parents advice and information from things you can do at home with your baby to where to buy a cool toy for your kid. read more

I LOVE Bubbles! I really do, the staff is great, the space is awesome BUT they don't offer much for working moms in terms of classes. I'm happy to pay for a class session but it stinks a that I have to send the nanny to enjoy this time with my little one. But I could write an essay on Bubbles Academy and how awesome it is. My daughter and I took our first class there almost 3 years ago (stroller fitness with Kim) when she was just a newborn, and Bubbles Academy has been an amazing resource for our family ever since. It's so much more than just fun classes (best classes in the city bar none imo)--they do moms' groups, holiday parties, special events, workshops, speakers etc. They also offer a great class for parents called "Navigating the Preschool Search." It's been over two years since we took it, but I emailed the instructor a question over Easter weekend and she called me first thing Monday to talk and was just so generous with her time and resources--two years later! We've been to a couple parties here and really enjoyed it. The staff are very helpful and so nice. My friend's cake got messed up in her car and they spent their time trying to fix it to the best of their ability (even though that's not their job!) for her and it wound up turning out very nice. I take the Bubbles stroller classes at Depaul with the instructor Kim. She's great, the right blend of motivation and modification. She gets you to give just a little bit more then you might on your own but also offers modifications for new moms or soon to be moms. It is a great workout, with toys and childcare for the kiddies. It is a huge relief that there is someone to keep an eye on my little one and the workouts leave me sore but smiling, as I can now fit into my before pregnancy jeans!! I have become a devoted follower as every workout is different but they are all challenging and keep me motivated. I think they offer a free trial class and you can also check it out at Lululemon on Damon Tuesdays at 9 for free. read more

Best friend Baby and I met up with a fellow Yelper and her son here for a play date. We had never been to Bubbles Academy before. The location is off the beaten path, it's located within a crazy triangle of bars, strip clubs, and restaurants. I drove around the area 3 times before I finally gave up and called for directions. I guess I just didn't go far enough. They offer free parking across the street which definitely earns an extra star in my book. The facility is very clean and creative. We visited on a free open play day...it was their birthday..so Best friend baby and all of the playmates were treated to organic cupcakes, apple juice, and helium balloons. I liked the fact that they ask you to sign in and provide information regarding who you are, your child's pediatrician, emergency contact, etc. In this day and age, you can never be too careful. We had a blast playing in the big open muralled room. Lots of fun toys, soft gym equipment etc. Plus I met an awesome mommy and her son...bestfriend baby and I hope to get together with them more often. Though Bubbles Academy isn't really in our neighborhood, I think that we will definitely be visiting more often...especially as the weather gets colder. read more

Bubbles Academy goes above and beyond to make everyone feel special. We tried many classes at other programs/schools throughout the city and my daughter did not take to them, which led to a lot of frustration for both of us. Then another mom at the park recommended Bubbles. She fell in love with the teachers, environment and classes. Each child is acknowledged and given that one on one attention to make them feel special in a group setting. And the teachers are SO patient and caring. This is a wonderful program. I'm a nanny, and finding out about bubbles was one of the best things for not only my charge, but myself. The classes are very high quality, age and developmentally appropriate and the instructor was so nice, informative and energetic! We try to make it open play when we can, which is such a fun thing for the babies and I also have a good time with the kids too. They bring out all of their climbers, slides, tunnels and toys and the kids are free to play with whatever they'd like. I like that it's a comfortable and safe environment to bring kids! We taken various children's classes at other gym and music facilities but none of them compare. I highly reccomemend taking a class here, and taking advantage of the free open play when you become a student. read more

I love Miss Kim ! She teaches pre-crawlers in the mountain room and she's such a delight, and extremely knowledgeable. I like this class and Kim because she keeps the kids entertained while still doing helpful exercises to get them moving. It's just the right amount of exercise without the kids getting over worked. Took my daughter here for a trial class this summer. She's a year and a half. There were 3 kids total in the class, my daughter had a lot of fun. They sang, played, did different activities. They fit a lot in during the class. The facility is huge! The staff is really friendly. My only complaints would be parking, I had to circle around and around for 30 minutes, good thing I left early. Also their classes and drop in classes are kind of expensive at around $35. read more

Like another reviewer, I really signed my infant up for baby music for my own sanity. My baby let out a blood curdling scream at two weeks and hadn't stopped. I hoped she would stop for forty-five minutes for the class. When we walked into Bubbles the heavenly gates opened. The place is whimsical, to say the least, with themed rooms with brightly painted walls and the sounds of birds chirping piped into the walls. It soothed me and soothed the little screamer. I heard a sound I hadn't heard from her for two months...silence. And the silence lasted for thirty-five minutes as we sat in a circle with the other babies and listened to songs performed by the leader of the group who has a really lovely voice. We even danced a little. Yes, my baby started screaming again before the leader blew the bubbles at the end of the class, but nobody asked me if she needed to go to the doctor, a common response in the outside world. Rather, they gave me empathic looks. And as the weeks have gone by, my baby now can last the full forty-five minutes. Now, I believe I am going for her as well. She rolled over for the first time in a Bubbles class. Other nice things about Bubbles are the free parking, the open play room and the almost Stepford nice people working there. read more

What a fantastic space for big kid-friendly gatherings!!! I hosted a big 150 ppl Heritage Night event there and I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful it went thanks to this great spot with extremely helpful staff and perfect layout. Everything from their high tech music equipment to awesome toys made our party a huge success. Sierra and her helpers were super accommodating, fulfilled every request we had, helped us to set up food and cleaned the whole place afterwards! And all of this for a very reasonable price!!! My son has gone through the preschool prep program at Bubbles and has made huge strides in so many areas - speech, separation anxiety, socially - to name a few. We couldn't be happier with our experience. The only thing we don't take advantage of is the open play - I feel like the room is a bit geared towards non-walkers.
