We did not want our son in a daycare. However, after a failed nanny share attempt, we knew we needed a solution that would be closer to our offices downtown and something that would expose our son to more children for socialization. Once we met Val and saw the school, we instantly knew the location was perfect for our commute and the nurturing, attention, diversity of education, structured play/education we had been hoping to achieve with a nanny share would happen at CPS. Our son was one of the first enrolled students. 8 months later, we could not be more thrilled with the experience. He is only just now 1 but is already walking, talking, singing and signing. The teachers are amazing and the activities offered (yoga, music class, baby sign language, daily walks/park play during nice weather) are unlike any other school we toured. They also have numerous activities where parents are encouraged to come to school and participate. We can't say enough good things about Contemporary Preschool. Our daughter started full time at 12 weeks and Valerie and the other teachers really worked with her to help her adjust to the new environment. The curriculum (even for infants) is really engaging. It's so nice to be able to go to work knowing our daughter is having a great time during the day. The Brightwheel app in the infant room allows for constant communication of how her day is going and allows for a seamless transition between home and the school. The location is really convenient, it's clean and small enough where the kids get individualized care. They are very accommodating and work with the family's schedule. read more

Our two children attended Contemporary Preschool, in both the infant and toddler classrooms, from September 2016 until we moved out of the state in August 2017. We cannot recommend this school highly enough. As working parents, it is such a difficult decision to choose the right childcare provider for your children and we are so happy we made the decision to move our children to this daycare. The owner Valerie is completely involved in the school and that makes such a difference to the quality of care. She really understands the struggles that come with being a working parent and tries to be flexible and accommodating to each parent's individual needs. The teachers are brilliant, in particular the toddler teachers Ms. Kayla and Ms. Brittany who are just exceptional and who our daughter adored. After moving to another school, we realize how great Contemporary Preschool was and how much our children learned while under their care. We had complete trust in the teachers and it was so nice to be able to go to work every day and not worry about our babies after dropping them off with smiles on their faces. We miss this school so much and our daughter still asks when she will be going back to her 'old school'! It's one of the best decisions we made while living in Chicago!! read more

We have had a fabulous experience here and highly recommend it. My son started attending when he was about 3-3.5 mo. We have had great experiences in the infant and older infant classrooms. All of the teachers are very diligent and loving towards the children. The socialization and weekly enrichment (spanish, yoga, and music classes) put the children ahead as they get older. The small class sizes ensure that each child gets a lot of attention. Ms. Valerie and Ms. Kayla run an excellent operation. I can't rave about this place enough. Thanks again! read more

My daughter has been attending since Oct 2016....she absolutely loves it here and loves her teacher ( Miss Jenna) and classmates. The school is new and super clean, rooms are spacious, neat, age appropriately decorated, and equipped with all the standard learning centers ( dramatic play, science,reading, fine motor, circle time etc). Each room is equipped with its own kids size bathroom , which makes is easier for kids to be self sufficient. The teaching is great, my daughter blows my mind with all the new things she is now able to do ( reading!!!) ... the classroom size is small 6-8 kids, which , at this age, is amazing!!!! = the teacher really has the time to KNOW my child! They offer Spanish, Yoga and Music classes weekly as part of their standard curriculum. All meals are included and provided and catered by Whole Foods, so I know my child is eating good quality meals....I have worked in a preschool as a teacher not long ago and I would absolutely recommend this school!!! Kudos to Miss Valerie, who is a great director and to the amazing teachers in Contemporary preschool! Love this team and will miss this school greatly when the time comes. read more

This is a fantastic daycare/preschool. We switched to this daycare when my oldest was 3 because our previous provider only went to 3 yrs old. So we switched over with a 3 year old and a 1.5 year old. I was very anxious about the move but CP is fantastic. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. They are so excited to see the boys in the morning and always have small activities planned first thing to ease the drop off difficulties. I also love the transparency. They use an app that tracks all food, diapers, naps, etc and it updates real time. I love getting the notice that a new picture has been uploaded. Everyday I'm blown away by what my boys are learning. My 3 year old is genuinely excited about all of the weekly lessons and can't wait to tell me what they did or what their "wondrous word of the week" is (for real, what 3 year old uses "putrid" in everyday language). My 1.5 year old is flourishing physically and mentally. With weekly classes on Spanish, yoga, music, etc they are always busy and truly love the place. This was such a great decision and I highly recommend this daycare to anyone. read more

I highly recommend Contemporary Preschool. We started our daughter there at 12 weeks. The programming is age appropriate for infants (the fact that there even is infant programs!). I see pictures of my daughter truly engaged in music, Spanish and Yoga classes with hands on involvement. The staff couldn't be better. They genuinely adore kids and are truly vested in the kids' wellbeing and happiness. One teacher of the older kids said that she to the baby room during her lunch break because she loves kids of all ages. Seriously--who wants to spend their break with babies. The teachers are always smiling and excited to tell you about the kid's days. The location is perfect. We wanted a place closer to downtown so there is less chance of traffic making us late for pickup or drop off. It's easy to just jump on and off LSD. Our family loves Contemporary Preschool! The staff at Contemporary are so sweet and nurturing, our 2 year old daughter felt at home there from day one. She is excited to go to school every day and transitioned so quickly thanks to their highly experienced staff. The director Miss Valerie makes the transition seamless even when our family had a tough timeline to adhere to. Miss Daisy, Miss Jenna and Miss Kayla are so sweet and our daughter loves them all. Although she has only been there a short time I can see she is learning so much. The location is great and easy to get to considering the area. I can not say enough positive things about Contemporary Preschool! My daughter began attending at about 7 months when I found myself in a pickle with a failed nanny situation. My husband and I were in debate for having a nanny or doing daycare for our 6 months old son. Eventually, we decided to give it a try at the daycare. After touring 6 daycares close to download, I found Contemporary. Here are few reasons why I choose it. - The staffs are very diversified, which is a great exposure to my son to understand the diversity of the culture. - The babies in the class are clean and calm. There are some daycares that babies are crying a lot and does not seem to enjoy being there. - The overall environment is very positive and classrooms are bright and nicely organized. Trust me, some daycares look very messy. - The school offers music, yoga and Spanish classes. At first I have doubt about if those classes are really meaningful for infants. However, after being in some of those classes and watching videos the teachers took, my son loved all of the classes. There are really limited daycare offer those extra peaks. My son started to attend the daycare at the end of June. I can clearly tell he loves going to the daycare. My son is a very picky eater and I felt the teachers' great effort have spent to help my son. Now, my son is 8 months old, he is able to hold the bottle and finish majority of milk himself and he enjoys feeding himself as well. Also, the school owner is very responsible and hands on. Further, her daughter also attends my son's class, which speaks a lot of the class quality. The teachers are very observing and able to give me detail information about my son's day every time I asked. Few things that I wish to the daycare would have that I am willing to pay more: 1) have a formal story reading time 2-3 times a week 2) increase music class from 1 time a week to 2 times a class. 3) The school does take the infants out twice a day if weather permit. However, I know there is farmer market and the zoo nearby. I wonder if the school is able to take them there to introduce them veggies, fruit, and animals maybe once a month? read more

We LOVE Contemporary Preschool. We were trying to decide between 2 daycares and after touring CP and meeting with Miss Valerie it was a no brainer. My husband, who is a teacher, was incredibly impressed with the curriculum, etc and he's a tough critic. :) We couldn't be happier. Our 2 year old is thriving (we can't even believe the things she's learned already) and it really feels like all of the teachers love these kiddos. When our daughter was out sick they even sent her a get well gift in the mail and were genuinely excited to see her when she came back. Such a special gesture. We can't say enough good things. Our son started parttime at Contemporary when he was 4 months old in January 2017 to get used to being cared for by someone other than me and then moved to full-time when I went back to work in March 2017 when he was 6 months. He is now 7.5 months and we could not be happier with how things are going for him here! He is thriving there and just loves it! We love the staff from the owner to all of his teachers who are so kind and personable and care for him so much! They are organized and keep us informed throughout the day with an awesome app that includes pictures and timelines of feedings and naps and etc. It's so nice to see how his little day is going and how happy he is there while we're at work! He loves his little friends there and is learning so much through the socialization he gets and through the activities--music, yoga, and Spanish that they have weekly. Like most parents, we were really wanting the best for our child and looked into several daycares and nanny options and are so pleased we went with Contemporary.
