    Strawberry bubble tea with boba
    Katie L.

Billings has a way of killing all wonderful food and drink options that are not chains... and I sure hope that doesn't happen here!!! The owner is so gracious and excited to share the bubble tea options. The ordering process is easy. I ordered a strawberry tea with traditional boba. He let me choose the tea type I wanted to go with. He also had us try some yummy Japanese chips that are also for purchase. The shop is fun, it is a little disorganized but there is a TV with Music playing to make the vibes fun. Lots of tables to sit if you want to stay or while you wait for your drink. The boba is much higher quality than the one in the mall. The mall one always make my tummy hurt and this place is fresh and so good! Will be coming back!!!

Such a great variety and very kind people working there! I love coming in and trying something new each time. Once my order got messed up and they fixed it right away! I will be back for more.

If you have been feeling deprived of good boba in the Midwest I highly recommend this spot. Guy is super kind and lets us smell and choose the tea leaves we want. The boba is the perfect level of chewy without being too soft and we came twice for the oolong!

I really like this little boba place. The number of options for milk teas and slushies is awesome. The taro buns are also really good.

As a new business, I think they need some time to get there footing here in Billings.

Not sure if this is a straw too small problem or a boba too big problem, the boba seem normal size but every so often you have to exert major sucking action to get the boba up. The tea selections are fantastic: white, green, black, rooibos, oolong, herbal and with multiple options within each category. A small sign on the wall will give you a listing of what each category is known such as antioxidant, immune system, low caffeine, etc. When you order your tea, the employees take the brewing process seriously. It isn't just hot water poured over a tea bag, but rather a special machine that heats the water to the precise temperature needed for the particular tea and then steeps the leaves for the appropriate time. (No teabags here, only tea leaves.) Tea City also has bubble tea with all the usual varieties and you can have your tea iced, also, if that's your preference. If you stop by early enough in the day, there will be several kinds of cupcakes, also. Because I typically come in at the end of the day, the cupcake pickings are pretty slim, but that's okay. I'm all about the tea, anyway.

The staff member who was working there wasn't the most friendly person ever, not that he was rude or anything, he just didn't go out of his way to say more than "Hi" and give me my bill total. I ordered a Dragon fruit Lemonade with crystal topping -- it was way, way too sweet, especially with the popping crystal candies. The drink was syrupy and thicker than it should have been, and I don't mind a sweet lemonade but this one was too much. My teenager got a Brown Sugar Milk Strike with boba which was pretty good but just slightly oversweet (side note, we loved the small boba pearls, we never see that size and it was fun and tasty!). My son got a Strawberry Slush with Strawberry topping-- it was good but again, the popping strawberry candy made it too sweet even for him, the biggest sugar lover ever. I would not go back to this location unfortunately. Hopefully it was just an off day for the staff working there.

While it's difficult to compare it with similar places on the east and west coasts, T-Boba does a good job. It's crazy busy here at lunch and on weekends, but the service is quick. With milk tea, slush, punch and various boba flavors, T-Boba can satisfy nearly every tastebud. I always seem to go for the Taro at places like this, and I've no complaints about the tea from here.

I tried two things; well, three, if you count the edible goodies from local places like Red Rooster (a place that never disappoints) and Koo Beans hit all the marks. I started with the Keto Vanilla Latte and could not have been more surprised. No chemical taste, just flavor. I was sorry I finished it. The vanilla flavor lasted to the not-at-all-bitter end. For later, I also ordered a blueberry bubble tea and when that first bubble burst on my tongue, I knew Koo Beans would become a regular stop. In chatting with the Owners (Alaina and Matthew, I think she said), she mentioned her goal is to provide flavors that are natural, without added sugars at reasonable prices. Mission accomplished, I think. After nearly two years of research to find what they were looking for and then to make this dream happen, she's living her dream right now. Kudos! . Koo Beans needs to stay around - they offer something different than the traditional coffee spots and it works well for them.
