Unfriendly, uncompromising customer service. After a day at Six Flags, my daughter and her friends wanted Boba and were happy to come across this business after realizing the Boba kiosk at Six Flags closed early. It was my daughter's 12th birthday so we purchased beverages for several of her friends, my son, my husband and myself. With this being a self ordering establishment, I thought I ordered a hot matcha tea, it was a chilly day. To my surprise, the order they gave me was an iced beverage similar to the boba. I explained to the staff that the drink wasn't what I intended to order. Instead of being understanding and fixing the order or even just apologizing, they told me that's what I "ordered so you can take it and order the correct beverage," which felt dismissive and frustrating. I left the incorrect drink on the counter and left without a drink. Customer service matters, especially in a business where accuracy and personalization are key. Though we would have easily returned as we spend many days at Six Flags, we won't be returning. There are many other boba places around that I would rather give my business to who appreciate their customers and prioritize customer service. read more

Super cute decor, I love the umbrella on the ceiling. The drink menu is easy to navigate, clean and organized. You self serve order and pay on the kiosk at the front. The pina colada we got was creamier than I expected, but tastes very good otherwise, not too sweet or too sour. Even after a 30 min car ride, the drink did not separate into layers, which does happen with many smoothies. Only thing is that this pina colada is not dairy free, which is probably why it's so deliciously creamy. There are two other locations. I look forward to trying these ones next: sesame, honeydew, lychee, and plain yogurt ones. read more

Bubble tea labs is the best brown sugar I've had in lake county. The milk tea is so smooth and doesn't leave a residue behind. When I went there was one person in the back making the drinks and everyone used the self kiosks. It's cool because if you know exactly what you want, it's a quick way to get in and out. If people have questions, there is a regular register for the newbies lol The decor inside bubble tea labs is so cool. They have trendy decor, multiple tv to make a gigantic tv, a white board for anyone to draw or leave a note, and I absolutely love the umbrellas on the ceiling. The service is really quick. The set up of Bubble Tea Lab is an introvert's dream! Upon entering the store was completely silent. It has a great vibe and feel of being a lab. The decor is very cute with lots of writing on the walls, a touch of modern with the monitors, and the multiple self serve kiosks. A very fun looking place for people to hang out. They also offer sunglasses, toys and stickers for purchase. However, we were a bit disappointed with the drinks themselves. The papaya smoothie and mango smoothie were overly sweet and we could taste the powder. My little one complained about the texture and taste, and didn't drink more than a couple of sips. Initially when I tasted my Thai latte there was a chocolate taste to it? I had thought they had messed up my order - but when you need an afternoon coffee fix who really cares :) In any case after getting further down I could taste the Thai powder in the mix. The service itself is quick, the size of the drink is definitely a true 'large'. I was really hoping to like this place because it's pretty easy to get too off the highway. We had mango smoothie and passion fruit tea. Mango smoothie was not good tasted like mexican mangoes and not real fruit. However my passion fruit tea was okay if they add more jelly i got the coffee jelly and did not go well but it was me next time order it w rainbow jelly it is good. I went here for the first time as my girlfriend told me this location opened up this past Friday. Honestly, not impressed. The inside ambiance is super cute the gigantic screens, a self order station and gigantic white boards that customer can write on. The ceiling is also covered in those paper umbrellas. As far as the drink goes, mmmmm....they're not my favorite and I've had better. I ordered a lychee milk tea with tapioca pearls, rainbow crystals and almond milk, the grand total was $8.69. I waited for about 10 minutes to get my boba because you order through this self order kiosk that's made up of a gigantic iPad. When I got my boba, straight off the bat, you can tell it's too watery and the boba/rainbow crystals to milk tea ratio was pretty bad. There definitely was not enough boba/rainbow crystals to the amount of milk tea you were getting. Now, the taste....it was way too sweet. Additionally, it also has a minty aftertaste which was weird. Overall, cute interior but the product is not worth what you pay and I'm not someone that would come back purely on the grounds of the "cute boba aesthetic". The guy giving orders to customer was nice however, I don't think I'll be back. I shall continue on my search for the best boba.... read more

A grown man in his 30s thinking he can yell at kids. My kid didn't know. There's ways to approach customers. And if you want kids to respect you, respect them. So we went to Boba Lab on 1757 N Milwaukee Ave Libertyville, IL and the woman was amazing and super nice and made us the most amazing boba tea and she treated me and my children so kindly even though they messed up. read more

The inside is cute and clean, staff is friendly, and my strawberry milk tea with tapioca was fantastic. However I think it's ridiculous that the açaí bowls are $8.50 and they charge you for almost every topping. I got the original just to try it and there was almost no peanut butter or granola in it (those were supposed to be included) and honestly I just didn't think the açaí base was very good. I've gotten much better, toppings included, for around $7. So maybe just stick to drinks and skip the bowls if you stop in. read more

The boba was okay. The ambience was nice as there is a massive whiteboard for all of the customers to write/draw on while they wait, and there are plenty of seats if you're here with a group. I got the Thai tea, which didn't really taste like Thai tea. It was really unique and not like anything I had before, as it had some kind of herbal taste to it which isn't usually common in Thai tea. My partner got the brown sugar milk tea which I liked a lot better. If you're in the area, I'd recommend going to Bubblelicious in Gurnee Mills mall instead. read more
