There are a couple bowls, some stairs to throw yourself down, and a nice street section with rails, ramps, and some unique obstacles. The skatepark isn't the largest, but it has a good flow and everything's spaced out enough that it doesn't feel like a zoo. I also like that it's clean and easy to get to with plenty of parking. The only negative is there seems to be more scooter kids here than anywhere I've skated. Not a big deal but parents, for the love of God, tell your kids to be aware of their surroundings. Snaking drop ins and cutting people off isn't cool and it's poor skatepark etiquette. If they're old enough to ride, they're old enough to have manners and spatial awareness.

Other than watching hot air balloons, there is still plenty to do. You can find vendors at the fair, listen to concerts and performances, meet the pilots when they land, watch dancers, and enjoy the food court. Feel like running? Sign up for the 5k that happens on the Saturday morning of the fair. There is also a Kid's Fun Zone with games, rides, and art activities. Want to ride in a balloon? While you can't get full rides, you can do a tether ride for $25 (or $15 for kids). Depending on where you park, it's anywhere from $5 to $20.This year (2022)the parking attendants weren't accepting credit cards. and they have a lot of diversions they couldn't a lot of good parking. Tip: GO early for next year if you would like to enjoy it because of the traffic rules and diversion you will not be able to reach the place on time.

In short, it is a great neighborhood park in the 75094 zip code area. It was updated and improved in 2010. The park has a brick gazebo pavilion with four 8-foot long picnic tables, a large BBQ grill and electric outlets. Be sure to check out the shaded playground area, sandy volleyball court, drinking water fountain, 31 trees, basketball court and lots of benches scattered around and one picnic table by the volleyball court. For dog walkers like myself, bikers, joggers and fur baby owners there is a 0.2 mile cement trail loop for lots of fun and exercise. Thinking about moving to the Aviary Subdivision in Murphy, Texas?
