I have been a longtime loyal customer BUT last week I brought my husband car through the car wash and when I came out of the tunnel the right rear tire was shredded in pieces. 2 new tires, $1100.00 later and owner accepts no responsibility. I have been using this car wash for over 10 years and have been satisfied with there service in the past. However, yesterday I had my car washed, had trouble understanding the self service way to pay and after a few minutes an employee slowly walked over and showed me how the system worked. In the past there was someone there who operated the system. When I suggested perhaps a sign with instructions might be a good idea, all he did was grunt. In addition, now there is no one with a drying cloth to wipe the water off that the blower system missed. Needless to say, i will not use this car wash again. It's a big disappointment, because under previous ownership this business was great. read more

I stopped in for the basic car wash. I told them I had some spots of tree sap on my windshield and it didn't come off in the wash. I stopped and picked up a towel to try to get it off myself. The attendant came out and said they'd run it through again free. Plus they scrubbed on my windshield to help loosen it. The second time through it was squeaky clean. Great service. Our beagle child unfortunately gets carsick and decided to projectile vomit his breakfast over my entire seat. The Background: In absolute panic, I tried calling mobile detailers in the Seattle retailer, but there was no availability. I did a quick Yelp search through the Anacortes area and found Bubba Sudz. I gave the owner a call and she was the sweetest lady. She offered to take us in immediately and charge us for the single area the dog had puked in. The service: EXCELLENT. Isaac thoroughly deep cleaned the seat and the car mat. It no longer smells like kibble and dog puke. I couldn't be happier. They also provided us with towels for the ride home because we weren't able to wait for the disinfectant to dry. Hopefully we will never have to come back for the same reason, but if you're looking for excellent and friendly automobile detailing, come to Bubba Sudz. read more

Be very careful with the self wash section of this car wash location. I didn't have quarters so used my credit card. A manager came by to inform me that when I was finished how to turn it off so that I wouldn't be charged $10. I just did a quick soap and rinse, thought I turned everything off and left. Later I found out on credit card bill that I was charged the $10 anyway. I may have missed something but thought I followed the instructions carefully. It shouldn't be that complicated. So come with quarters when you use the self wash to lessen the possibility of being overcharged. read more

I should preface this review by saying that I've been using Yelp for years now to pick out quality services for everything from barbers to guitar repair shops, but have never felt inclined to write a review. I've always found that people are too quick to post negative reviews - and they should be more careful/understanding. Because in this day and age, Yelp can truly make or break a company. I've always been very tolerant with mediocre service. I'm no drama queen, and I'm pretty easy to please. This^ being said, my experience with Bubba Sudz today prompted me to finally write my very first review. And, unfortunately, it is because of a very negative experience. It breaks my heart to write this because I like to support local businesses in my hometown. The bottom line: I went there to get my mother's Volvo cleaned. I went for the total wash/detail package. The total cost was $55. I was guarenteed an entire interior/exterior cleansing and detailing. I won't even focus on the exterior. There are gray dirt splotches everywhere. The wheels had hardly been touched. It looks like someone sprayed them with water and then called it a day. On the interior, it looked as if the dashboard and radio/stereo buttons hadn't even been TOUCHED. Like, not even wiped over once with a single piece of cloth. Dust and grime everywhere. The floor matts as well. On the driver side, the window buttons were covered with grime so thick that I used my fingernail to scrape it off. Again, it appeared that they had not been touched. On the way to Bubba Sudz, like an idiot, I spilled some coffee on myself and on the driver seat. After getting the car back, the stain was still there -- had not been touched. And this was freshly spilled drips of coffee. I cleaned it myself by simply licking my finger and rubbing the stain out. Took six seconds. I honestly feel that I could have done similar work with a shop vac and a roll of paper towels in about 20 minutes. I have paid for deep-wash cleaning services in several cities around the country, from New York City to New Orleans. I usually paid about $30 and was blown away at the attention to detail. Bubba Sudz has been a huge disappointment. I'm considering going back to to the owner and giving him the chance to make this right, but I got an overall sense that they just don't care. They've been around forever, and I don't think they care about losing one customer. read more

I was completely satisfied with the great wash I got for my very dirty 2018 CRV. I was met by a person who was pleasant and explained the options as it was my first time. He handed me a wet wipe to clean my dash etc while going thru the wash. He asked if my side mirrors were power ? They are not so he gently pushed them in for me. He also inserted a plastic cover to protect my rear wiper. As I exited the wash another pleasant person began to dry wipe my car. It was a great feeling for a 71 year old man not to have to wash his car by hand and still have it looking great from a car wash. Ditto ONE STAR FOR the nice, old dog. The quality and employee attitude is terrible. We paid for the extra wheel cleaning. When we got downdown and looked at the car, it was still completely dirty. I could wipe dirt and dried soap off the windows, it was waxed on to the windshield ). The wheels were still grimly and dirty, and dried dirt, soap,and grime on the body. We went right back, the Blonde guy I spoke with said "your car is old (2007) and scratched, you'll play hell finding any car wash to do a better job"! I did finally get reembursed. We drove right over to BlueCow, asked if they were able to do any better. The managers said that everyone says they do a much better wash. Started going to Bubba Sudz again after the new owners took over in 2016. Had found the previous owners no longer cared much about quality for the price, which is why I stopped going there. Following new ownership, what I was getting for $25 (full wash with the wax, dry, vacuum, tires glossed up, wipe down inside) was totally worth it and worth the time it took to do it. Then they upped the price to $28 a year or so later... okay - not so much of a price increase. I would even drive from my home 40 miles one-way now-and-again to get the full wash and other features, because it was such a good experience. Although, I do have to say I had noticed that when the owners weren't around, the quality and attention to detail was lacking along with the general friendliness of the staff. Still, I decided I would be a loyal customer because of the overall quality of the job and what was offered. Then, about four months ago, I drove those 40 miles to get a wash on a sunny day. Was quite surprised to learn the price was now $30, but even more surprised to find out if I wanted the extras that used to come with the most-expensive, full service wash, I needed to make an appointment. That's a pretty extreme change in a business model, especially when they aren't the only game in town. As well, since car-washes in the Pacific Northwest are essentially an "impulse buy" and/or dependent on having a non-rainy and above-freezing day, appointments don't accommodate impulse-buyers. I guess they feel they have enough of a lock on the car-wash business in Anacortes to risk losing customers over such a drastic change. But... do they? Seems like a big risk to take in such a small town. Overall, I did like the job they do here, but refuse to pay $30 for something I'm pretty much getting for half the price (even if it's with the very unfriendly attendant at the other place). Not to mention the added cost of the extra gas to get to Anacortes. All of this is why Bubba-Sudz isn't even getting an "A-Ok" three star rating from me but a 2-star "Meh. I've experienced better" rating because I *have* experienced better. From them. Just six months ago. I wish them luck and hope they do well business-wise. Dead Bugs No More!!! Just arrived from a cross country trip with the front of our Ford Edge plastered with bug remains. So much so that the white Ford Edge looked yellow!!! I was so pleased with the job they did on my 97 Ford Ranger. It had been over a year since I'd had it washed, due to health reasons. The prewash prep crew did an amazing job. My truck was embarrassingly dirty before. They cleaned the top of the canopy, between the canopy and cab, every nook and cranny. Highly recommend these people. I was very impressed with this place. Great price for a great tunnel wash. Friendly skilled service. Only $9 for a basic wash. They hand dry it at the end. They wrapped my rear window wiper blade in plastic to protect it. Turned in my side mirrors. And even gave me a couple of wet wipes for me to clean my dash, which I did while the wash was happening. Went through the car wash last week, got the standard $10.00 wash, paid the attendant and then handed him a punch card I had, with four punches on it, he said "the boss won't let me use this anymore, it's too old, I'll have to issue you a new one with just one punch!" Should have asked for a refund right then and backed out, have been stewing about it since. I went through their car wash in April, and was pleasantly surprised to see brand new brushes and a conveyor belt installed. The new owners, Erin and Steve, were so nice, and they were excited about the improvements and vision they have for their business. Only giving this 1 star because I cannot give it 0 stars. My father in law called over to request an appointment for detailing. He was booked an appointment for Saturday afternoon. When he showed up at the appointed time, they denied that he had an appointment and said that they don't do detailing on Saturdays. My father in law called the number he used to make an appointment, thinking maybe he had called the wrong number, and he had called the correct number. So either someone lied to him on the phone or someone lied to his face. What a waste of time! read more

I have a 2014 Kia Optima that sustained heavy damage to its nav/satellite antenna while coming through the wash. Both myself and the attendant heard the impact but could not find what happened. I later discovered the missing part and upon calling back, the attendant informed me that he did in fact find the part inside the wash. After several phone calls and stopping by to discuss with the owner I had heard nothing for a week. I sent an email and finally heard back but got the typical "canned response" how it could NOT be his carwash and it could only be from earlier damage. I asked if he would participate at all with the fix and he only wanted to wash his hands of the responsibility. This review is for the car wash. We have been to many car washes over the years and this car wash rates with the best of them. The price is fair, the staff is always friendly and the car wash does a great job. They begin by hand spraying your vehicle prior to it going through the automatic portion. Before you go through they give you a large wash n' dry to wipe your dash with(which I've never experienced at any car wash). The automatic wash uses a large amount of soap and water to clean your vehicle. Then after the blower dries your car they use large, clean rags to dry off your windows and exterior of your car. No, they don't smear your windows, which is unusual for a car wash. On top of it all there is a friendly dog that greets you as you pull up. Too cute!!! This car wash experience is the best!!! Give it a try. And please give the guys a nice tip after they hand dry your car:). read more

I drove across the country with my boyfriend, 17 month old, a chocolate lab and a German shepherd. We did a lot of camping and living in that car!!! I swore it was never going to be clean again! I took it to Bubba Sudz for a full detail and let me tell you.....it was like a brand new car in and out! They even cleaned my babies seat for me!! I almost never write reviews, but I was so happy with the detail I thought I'd send some praise! We had our 16 year old car detailed by Bubba Sudz and I could not believe the difference. This car has over 250k miles, has done it all, and was by all acounts pretty trashed. It could now pass as a very nice used car. I would highly recommend them for this service. Employees at Bubba Sudz told my wife that she could take her convertible through their car wash. So she did..... and the top got damaged. The top was pulled out inches behind the passenger side window and separated the seal behind the driver's side window. We took the car to the owner of Bubba Sudz. He talked like he knew a lot about tops and said that the installation of the top was faulty for a number of reasons. Being a mechanical engineer I thought he was wrong on many counts, but I figured I would wait to hear what a convertible top expert thought. My wife took the car to a convertible top repair shop. They were able to repair the top, but said the owner of Bubba Sudz was not correct and that the top was likely damaged due to the car wash (we think it was the air blast at the end). I took the car back to Bubba Sudz to talk to the owner about it. I said that the information he provided was not correct and that his car wash damaged my wife's car and that the top was not defective according to the convertible top repairman. He said the repairman doesn't know what he is talking about. He got mad, I got mad, he called me a wife beater (he said my wife was cowering when we were talking with him..... my wife thinks this is really funny!) And many other names. I called him names too, but not quite like that. Anyway, we will never be back to Bubba Sudz. We think the workers there are nice and have good intensions, but the owner isn't and doesn't. read more
