For the view yes. For the food and service no. It's definitely for tourists. Food should be better for the location it's in. Maybe it's lack of staff or the experience for sure. You feel like cattle.. get 'em in and out. It's a summer hot spot for lakers mostly who just wanna place to hang out after being on the lake or take their friends or relatives who come to visit. I cant explain why some of the reviews areso negative. Here is mine. I can't believe how good this casual restaurant is. Normally, in my opinion, most casual waterside places focus on beer and food is most fried or reheated food service product. Our group of 5 had multiple entrees and apps, and as best as we could tell were all scratch and all excellent. I would eat here often if I was a local. Good prices and a great beer and cocktail selection. Hats off to ownership and the chef. read more

Recently moved to this side of town and was excited to be able to give BB a second chance but ... As soon as we walked in I was wanting a shirt I love their display ... but too bad we were simply ignored .. by everybody... but I had been craving their alligator so I was just going to be patient and just give them another chance. As the hostess approached us she was on her phone the whole way . She didn't acknowledge us until she finished the text. Then proceeded to tell us sit wherever ... if that was the case why did we wait 20 mins to be sat. Jordan our server was not very helpful. Great food, reasonable prices, a long list of craft beers and a good bar, three levels of patios right on the lake. There are a lot of reasons to like Bubba Brew's. The hours are a damn mystery, though. For a tourist town, you'd think more places would stay open late, but they close at 8:00 during the week and 9:00 on the weekends! Most places in my area stay open til 9:00 during the week and 11:00 on the weekends. Bizarre. Highly recommended. Just keep an eye on the time, if you're going mid-week. read more

Great service and menu options. We got there for lunch right when the opened, and got a great seat on the deck overlooking the lake. There was a longer line / wait during hours, as we drove by on the boat on a Saturday night. The deck was relaxing (and dog friendly). We ordered oysters that were from the gulf and huge! You can also take home the glass your Bubba cocktail comes in, which makes for a nice souvenir! read more

On the first Saturday of August around 3 o'clock, my Wife and I along with her parents took our boat to bubba brew's for a quick lunch. as we arrived two large groups of at least 8 to 10 people had just left. There were only a handful of people on the lower patio, inside had many empty tables as well. We walked inside to be greeted by a hostess with a less than pleasant attitude, informing us that it would be over an hour wait. apparently we weren't good enough to be served. after purchasing our home on Lake Hamilton last year. We've tried a few other lakeside restaurants and have been very please. against the advice of our new neighbor(s) who inform us that Bubbs Brew wasn't worth checking out we decided to find out for ourselves. I can only think of a couple other restaurants where I have received such poor customer service, those were both in California. I'm writing this about a week after so cooling down and sleeping on it didn't help. since purchasing our home on Lake Hamilton, we've been very happy hanging out on the lake and getting to know the surrounding area. the restaurants on the lake we're definitely a bonus when purchasing are home. I guess there's just one less place to frequent. read more

Showed up on a Sunday for dinner to be told it was a 90 min wait while I could see multiple tables near the host stand that were empty along with multiple tables outside and no one sitting around waiting for a table. Came back Monday, tried to order a flight of beer for the 1st 5 beers on the menu that I picked were out even when they were still listed on the menu. Waited 15 min or more for my flight which came out after our food only after I asked about it. read more

Go here! That about sums it up lol. They have a live band on Friday nights and a view of the lake for a good summer night. Our hotel had a shuttle to this place so we opted to try it. So glad we did. The service was top notch. The waitress checked on us often and she made sure we were taken care of until we walked out the door. The catfish was fresh and crispy. I loved it. The wings were great as an appetizer. It was large portions so come ready to eat. The drinks were good and if you get a drink in the jar you get to keep it. Reasonable prices and 3 levels to the place. Wish we had one back at home! read more

Our activities abruptly ended earlier than expected today, because we had no idea Lake Catherine's marina won't let you have a kayak or pedal boat out past 4, so we came here. The idea of eating on the water sounds so beautiful, but I was weary with the mixed reviews. The only two downsides to this place are the host who sat us lowered his mask to tell us the specials, which freaked me out because we've been so cautious with all of the Covid stuff and there was no reason to do so. Also, it was weirdly hot on the water and our umbrella wasn't tilted like some others so we started getting pretty hot while eating. But the food, drink, and service were enough to make up for these. The menu has so many options, but sharing apps just seemed fun. We got onion rings and the pretzel bites. The pretzel brings four big pieces. It's pretty salty and we had to knock some off, but the cheese sauce was good and the pretzel itself was tasty. The onion rings were delicious and definitely fresh. They weren't too greasy and came with a pretty massive portion. My boyfriend got the hibiscus cider, which was really sweet but refreshing. I got the Summer Splash, a vodka cocktail in the 32 ounce souvenir glass. It was delicious and I drank it quickly! The glass is cute because it says the city name and the shark logo is wearing a face mask and says "2020" on it. I'm nervous about using it again or washing it, because the stickers look like they could pretty easily chip or come off. The view is incredible. Even though it was very, very sunny, the water seems endless and it was fun to watch the boats go by. It definitely made the experience better. read more

Sorry, I I am posting this two weeks later. Our lake house WiFi, wasn't very WiFi. Here it goes, the restaurant is downstairs, there's a bar up top. We went in, and the guy told us the restaurant is down stairs. There is parking down at the bottom. All the staff are wearing their mask, when you go in. They do social distancing really good. They sanitized the tables and chairs, before people come , and leave their areas. If you have a very big group ( over 10), they do put you at different tables. Not at one big table together. So, they separate your group. Their menu, wasn't big like we thought it would be. There's not much of a variety. The food was okay, not like some of the reviews we read about. Our waiter was hardly to be found, when we needed him. I am finding if you go out to any restaurant, since the coronavirus, things are a lot different. Yes, you would have to wait awhile, so they can sanitized and clean everything. read more

Very friendly staff! Our waitress was very attentive. We each ordered a BB Bigun drink so we could have a souvenir mug and they were great. The food was okay. We ordered the nachos and yes they easily serve 4! But, the chili tasted like Hormel out of the can. We shared the seafood platter, scallops, shrimp, clam strips, fish, hush puppies and fries. Nothing special, pretty much frozen seafood deep fried. Overall the atmosphere, right on the water and the outdoor seating was very nice. We read the reviews and ordered fried green beans and the Cubano because od reviews in addition to fried okra and the pretzel. All were great. The pulled pork was legit... KC, Texas style....... The pulled pork is legit. Beers were good service was good. Not sure what anyone else would want. Also I wanted to watch Ranger/Orioles game and they had it during football season. We did come Sunday at 4:30 so it was pretty empty, but they were staffed well. I would totally come back here next time we roll into hot springs. read more

The manager first name Kim came in , I was eating and she started yelling at poor waiter in front of the entire restaurant, and yelling get the helI out of "MY BUILDING !!!" Was completely shocked , I never seen this kind of unhinged theatrics in a service industry job, and I have worked "as a manager " in quite a few. Who ever owns this place should be ashamed that they employ that horrible woman. Completely unacceptable. Will never go back and will absolutely make sure everyone knows why. Shame shame. So disappointed with this establishment. They should not even get one star, but zero stars is not an option. So many ADA (American's with Disabilities Act) violations were committed in less than 30 minutes of being in this establishment. Went for dinner as a party of 4, one of the members of the party happens to be Visually Impaired and uses a guide dog. Upon entering the restaurant, the man at the door asked if the dog was a service dog, the group told him yes. The man then directed the group where to sit. The group sat where the man had directed. The guide dog went directly under the handler's feet as it is trained to do. Immediately upon sitting, the hostess approached the group and told them that there are no dogs allowed. The group told the hostess that it was a service dog. The hostess stated that it didn't matter, dogs weren't allowed inside and that the group would have to sit outside. The group stood up and began walking towards the door. On the way out to the door, the manager was standing with staff. The group of patrons tried to explain to the manager that it was a service animal and according to ADA is allowed inside. The manager asked the patron to "prove it", and said that the dog was not allowed due to health codes and directed the group to sit outside. If you are the manager of this establishment please note the violations you have committed: 1. Discrimination/Segregation of a disabled person- you cannot ask a patron to sit in a separate place because of their disability or service animal that is utilized due to their disability 2. Someone with a service animal does not have to "prove" anything to anyone; would you ask a person in a wheelchair to prove that they cannot walk? By law you can only ask two questions: Is it a service animal and what is the animal tasked with. 3. ADA trumps any local health code. ADA is a federal law and therefore trumps health code. Bubba Brews, please train your staff not only on ADA law, but also on kindness and compassion.. because neither were shown in this situation. read more

Very friendly staff and quick service. We were there on a Thursday night so there were not a lot of people there. The food was outstanding! I had the pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the ribeye steak. The pulled pork sandwich was one of the best I have ever had, and I have eaten a lot of pulled pork. Their BBQ sauce was very good too. My wife said her steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Here baked potato was large, tasty, and cooked through. My partner and I came to this establishment simply because we kept seeing its name on places to bring your pooch because it was patio friendly. We were excited! And we sure brought our puppers. Needless to say it was a terrible experience. My alcoholic souvenir beverage had zero booze in it and was just a cheap mason jar with a sticker slapped on it. My chicken fried steak and gravy tasted as if someone piled on the flour as the primary, or possibly the only, ingredient. It's only saving grace was that it said it had a view of the lake, which it did, and that was nice. It's a shame all of these "Things To Do" articles don't tell you it's not good food. Went with a group of 6. Waited almost an hour which was expected that's fine we enjoyed drinks on the top deck while we waited and enjoyed the views! The service was awful! Server forgot every sauce we ordered didn't put beer cheese on the sandwich which we asked for my salad came out with my meal (which took another almost an hour) server never came back to see if we wanted another drink and when we asked she said okay but make it quick it's almost last call we're closing.. ( we didn't even have our food yet!!!) they close at 9 we didn't get food until 9:15.. they started closing around us grabbing our caddies and paper towels while we were still eating. If you have traveled to the hot springs area from out of town with a group larger than 8, do not plan on this being where you go. The waitstaff and hostesses are not friendly. You cannot sit on the patio with a group larger than 8, and cannot sit more than 5 to a table - as you might "damage" the outdoor tables. Also, if you order food and it comes to the table messed up, it is on you to pay for the wrong food & the new meal remade to the correct way you ordered to begin with.
