The time came and the taxi showed up was barely enough for 2 person with 2 suitcases. The taxi driver complained non-stop - how was it our fault??? The third person in our group had to catch another taxi. The most annoying part was when the taxi driver refused to take my own suitcase but took my friend's (the one catching the other taxi) because my friend's was smaller and lighter. My friend who was a small girl was able to carry my suitcase so how could the driver - a big strong man - not? So rude and lazy!!! My sorority sisters and I used a Facebook group called "Loudmouths" for our repeated trips to the Louder Than Life music festival in Louisville, and had trusted Uber drivers on our Facebook group to take us to and from the three day event. Because the festival is so hugely attended, the costs of everything skyrocket. Uber pricing does too! The Loudmouths helped us a. ensure we were getting a legitimate driver/ride for each Uber we took, and b. ensured we were charged the fees we arranged up front. I was surprised how many unethical Uber drivers there were in Louisville. Color me naive. Several times I nearly entered the wrong vehicle. I was grateful there were three of us to help keep it all on the up and up. My Uber in the Atlanta area was much appreciated! Anytime I have the opportunity to not drive in the Atlanta area is a blessing! This was a one-way trip, the driver arrived on time as promised, and charged the promised fee. It was an Uber win! The app is useful, easy to navigate, and Uber offers Uber Eats where they deliver restaurant meals (and I believe groceries) to your home/business. I do hope its true we have Uber available in Athens, Alabama. Our neighboring sister, Huntsville, Alabama has had Uber for years. Likely Huntsville has Lyft, too.

At the outset, we were quite pleased that the experience was going very well. On this one particular evening, we had an experience where the driver took a long time to arrive, then pulled up on the opposite side of the busy two-way street and just stared at us instead of attempting to pull up to the actual address. Mind you, we were wearing stilettos, so navigating traffic was dicey and uncomfortable. After finally making our way across the busy street near the trending, novel restaurant, where we dined, we reached to open the car door and the driver abruptly sped off. His actions seemed so calculated, The way he patiently waited for the approach and left as he did was completely insane. The situation was unjustified. Needless to say, we found his behavior both astonishing and frightening. Not only could he have run over our feet, but he also jeopardized our safety by having us cross the busy street to access his car. We were neither reimbursed for the failed dispatch nor his despicable behavior. Aside from that horrible experience, all of the other driver's followed protocol while understanding what it means to work for a ride sharing service. Four stars for the drivers who were outstanding.

If you want to get away from the heat-I do not suggest Batobus, but any other time, it's always been a wonderful experience.

Leaving Annecy at 11:05 am arriving in Geneva at 11:55. It was about 10 minutes late leaving and on a bus that didn't say Flixbus but there were people to ask if I was on the right bus. You have to show identification like passport or drivers license since we are crossing the border. The Flixbus returning to Annecy from the Geneva bus station at 6:25 to 7:20 was on time and the same driver. This was a low cost to visit another city 50 minutes away.

I scrambled to figure out what to do because my flight was going to be from Heathrow Airport and I had to get to London. I came across Flix Bus I was alarmed by both the price and the duration of the trip. It was going to be over $800 for three tickets and ten hours. I had no choice because I did not want to pay $2000 for a flight from Paris to London and it was not even direct, they all had layovers! What a nightmare. What I decided to do was leave two days earlier (lose out on the hotel and Paris) but get a much cheaper rate by leaving early on Christmas Day. We arrived pretty early and waited around. We were sure that we were in the right line so when the bus arrived, I went to go ask him and his response was awkward and dismissive. At this point re-joined the line and we were next up and he sees that I have four tickets, but there is only three of us he seemed confused and I'm standing there trying to get his attention and let him know I have two tickets for myself because I wanted space, but he's intentionally ignoring me. Finally we board the bus but I'm already peeved with his attitude-- not to mention there was another woman who I saw him yell at because she was "taking too long to board" Once we reach Lille, France we had to de-board for about an hour. We get a new driver, but he's even worse than the first driver. At this point, we need to show our passport before we board-- I take it we were the sole Americans on the bus. Once he sees we have American passports, the smug attitude comes out. He helped everyone out their luggage aboard but told me he doesn't help men, but I saw him. That's fine; I'm more than capable of doing it myself. I'm upstairs in my seat and he comes by and says to me and nobody else.. "so, you're the American" I had my headphones on, but I slightly heard him. I said what did you say? And he walks away.. I'm irate at this point, we've been on the bus for hours, I'm tired and now I have someone who has a problem that I'm from the US. He returns about ten minutes later and tells me "he needs that seat" I said what are you talking about, it's my seat and I paid for it! He tells me they overbooked and he needs the seat and I said no. He tells me be nice for once on you're life. I do not know this man nor does he know me, how dare he. I go to stand up because now I'm more angry and things could have easily went a different way but they are trying to somewhat calm me down. Now I'm slightly embarrassed because everyone is staring and wondering about the commotion. I have the passenger rushing me and touching my coat to put in the tack above where I don't know exactly want my Moose a knuckles coat. I tell the driver I want a refund and he says I will and he walks away. We make two separate stops at UK customs. He asked me what I paid, I show him proof of what I paid in American Dollars and even showed him the conversion amount in Euros-- he tells me that's too high and wants further proof. I showed him my credit card statement and the invoices which basically itemized each ticket. He strings me along until we finally get to London. Mind you, he refereed to me as "The American Guy" two more times, which I told him how rude and pompous he was. At the end of the trip, he said he would give me only 40 Euros because the guy didn't go the full route, which I didn't accept. I told him I was going to report him and since he wouldn't give me his name-- I just took his photo and the license plate and hopefully that helps. I would never wish unemployment on anyone, but I hope the e-mail I sent to Flix Bus gets him terminated. I will never utilize them again-- either abroad or domestically. Another thing, it's absolutely the most disgusting bus I've ever seen in my life. I entered and when I lifted the seat I saw that there was urine and tissue to the brim and I literally thought it was going to overflow while I was there. FYI--If you're an "American" do not ride this bus abroad!

The Gare de l'Est (East Station) is two train stations: one being part of the Paris Metro line,…read moreconnecting Lines 4, 5, and 7 and the other being the one of seven Paris mainline stations supporting TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse) going to various cities in Europe. My nephew and I had planned a weekend trip to Luxembourg, and this station was the origination of the 2.5 hour high-speed trip, beginning early on a Saturday morning. We came from different places in Paris using Metro, and met up here. The walk from the Metro part of the station to the main central holding area takes a bit of time, with need to closely follow signs pointing to Gare de l'Est. About 24 minutes before the scheduled departure of our train, the platform number came up on the big board. At that point, we used the QR code from our purchased ticket to pass through the security gate of the platform. Then it was a long outdoor walk parallel to the train until one finds the correct car. We left right on-time. We came back to the same station from Luxembourg, and it was a simple matter of reversing direction back to the Metro side of the station to get back to our dorm/hotel.

I didn't see any gypsies and I did see security and police. There were multiple people at the door with boxes of cigarettes in their hands... Gare du Nord is super convenient as the Metro is directly connected to the station. When leaving Gare du Nord to the UK, there is a separate hall which entails leaving the EU and entering the UK before going through security. The halls were pretty full with numerous shops selling sandwiches and coffee. Seats were scarce and rather a hot commodity.

What's the best way to see paris for $2? On a bike!…read more One of my Paris highlights were this bikes! Though they may look clunky and hideous, they are great way to get you anywhere. After a couple days of walking everywhere my legs were dying. As much as I wanted to see everything paris had to offer my legs were telling me NO! Good thing we decided to try these bikes out because they saved our legs and took us to places faster than our two feet ever would. The website makes renting these bikes simple enough. You register online and pay with card and create a PIN. An email is sent to you with user numbers, that you'll need to enter in the kiosk to get a bike and don't forget your pin. As long as you return the bike to a station within 30 minutes you're guaranteed a $2 paris excursion all on two wheels. Most of the station are available on most popular areas and around the corners in big intersections. You can always rent the bike from the kiosk if you don't have time to register online. When you return your bike make sure to see a green light appear on your stand. If not, you can go to the main kiosk and troubleshoot from there. My light went orange in one instance because I shoved it in the wrong angle and the kiosk released it, so I could retry sliding it in. It was fun biking around like a local because even the locals use them. It was super scary biking on crowded roads with cars, but compared to America, french drivers are totally aware of their surroundings. The insurance you have with these bikes are they are heavy and big enough to keep you stable and withstand a lot of beatings. The fenders on the bike also come in handy for those spontaneous mother nature drizzles.

Beware of this company! I am very familiar with bike shares and scooter shares of many varieties…read morefrom many brands across many cities around the world. This brand is the scariest! 1. They have bikes in unsafe riding condition all over the city! Do they inspect or repair ever? 2. Several of their bikes have dubious connections with the server - so you may not be able to start a ride. AND you might think you're parking a bike and ending a ride, but in fact it is just locked to the rack but still running. 3. If (or should I say when) the ride malfunctions there is NO METHOD of getting in touch with customer service for help. So not only will you get overcharged and have to fight to remove the charge after the fact, but you will also be locked out of using any other bikes. That means that, if you purchased a subscription service for an entire day, but a bike won't log out of your app after you lock it up, you will not be able to use your subscription again with a new bike that day (since the old bike is still running). 4. There is no way to reply to a conversation or see your conversation history with customer service - so, no matter how many times you talk to them (or try to report problematic bikes), there is never a record to reference to indicate the problem you are having, if it is an ongoing one (or you are trying to point out that you did try to contact them over a broken bike). 5. You can't view your GPS history of the rides, so you can't argue where you did or did not ride when the service inevitably charges you for a 29-day ride that you did not take. I attempted 8 rides with this company over 4 days and only got 5 to work - and of those 5, it took trying several bikes before one was functional. This is almost a 100% error track record. This company will deliver you a questionable product and then charge your credit card for errors that its own server makes. I recommend you use literally any other rideshare program for your own peace of mind.

It runs on time and will get you to where you need to go.
