This was my first time visit here, plenty of parking right next to Amapola market. CASH ONLY I was charged 15 dollars for my child's haircut. Barbara the owner did a really good job. 25 years of experience and yeah it shows, she's a pro! We will be coming back. Thank you Barbara! read more

Did even finish my haircut, is was so bad I had to leave in the middle hopefully I can find someone to help me out

I've been coming here for a few years now and they've always done an awesome job and in a timely manner. They also now setup appointments which is great, so I don't have to walk in and hope they aren't too busy. The barbershop itself is fresh in not only climate, but it's a newly remodeled shop by the looks of it and is very clean. Barbara, Linda, and Uriel are all great barbers. My only deal is to avoid an older gentleman they got working there every now and then. Although his quality is fine, he takes nearly twice as long as the other barbers for the same haircut and spends a lot of time talking. read more

Walked in today and right away got a haircut. It was probably one of my favorite haircuts I have ever gotten she took her time and did an amazing job. I wish I had gotten the ladies name so I could go with her again. But I will definitely be a regular now. Just moved to the area and by far the best place. The only thing is cash only which sucks for those of us who never carry cash but no biggie just be sure to stop by an atm to withdraw some cash before coming. read more

About two months ago I came into this barber shop and was helped by the lady that has the second chair station. I loved the haircut she gave me and she took her time and explained things to me about my hair that I didn't know. Yesterday December 18, I called to see if they were open and I booked an appointment. The same lady wasn't there so instead I was helped by uriel. I didn't know he was the one cutting my hair until the end that I asked for his name. I had read many good reviews about him. But In my situation he didn't do a good job. He does take his time so I give him that. But he messed up the left side of my hair. Maybe it was just bad luck. I will be coming back but I'll make sure to ask for the lady that helped me out the first time. read more

B's Barbershop - He shaved too much on the left side. - Barbers Near Me - Downey, California

It's 5:54. Supposedly they close at 7. And it is also posted outside of their window... they didn't even greet us. The two people inside just stared at us blankly and said they were closed. I don't understand how they can have a sign that says they close at 7 Pm on Wednesdays , yet they can't take us in before 6 Pm. This is bad for busIness so you can't blame the customer. Smh very disappointed read more

I came to this place to get my cut today after months of prolonging it. I was looking like a hairy-ass wookiee because I usually wait about 3 months between cuts. Well for those 3 or 4 times a year that I do go get a haircut I keep coming back to B's. Unlike other over priced "Salons" or places to get a "Super" cut, this place gives you quality for a good low price. I used to go to those other guys but I was never satisfied. Either those places were too feminine or I felt like they didn't know what the hell they were doing. I always felt like I paid too much and they always fucked up my "do" in the last five minutes of the cut. What can I do? Complain and have them put my hair back? Nope, instead I went on a journey to look for a new spot. After trying out a couple of other questionable local spots I ran across B's and decided to give it a shot. That was a couple of years ago. Now I visit them every time I get the urge to yell like Chewbacca. read more

Just a simple barber shop dishing out good cuts. I've been there at least three times and they've listened to what I ask for. In my most recent visit I asked for a scissor cut and I wasn't certain the lady could do it how I asked because she questioned why I wanted my cut with the scissors. I braced for the worst, but surprisingly she understood what I wanted and gave me a decent cut. All I can say is this is one of the places you can go to if you're looking to try a new place. It might be a risky move just as going to any other new barbershop could be, but I haven't had a bad experience yet. On the upside, haircuts are just $11. You don't find many places giving haircuts for that cheap these days. read more

Uriel is the best barber in town, hands down!!! Love the fresh haircuts he gives my boys. Very patient and very detailed. Gracias Uriel!

This place is ass the owner does not know how to do a lineup and a fade. I wouldn't send my kids there because this place is terrible. Never coming back again read more

Great team of Barbers but Barbara is my Barber (Barberette?!) of choice and I am very selective on who cuts my hair. Great place for kid cuts as well, my son (11) and I are regulars...Check them out! read more

I came here after ordering a cake from my girl at Porto's. I really didn't know what to expect. Fortunately I got a really nice fade from Angel. The kid has skills, used the razor and everything. Cut also cost me less than most places I've been. Unfortunately he gave me exact change so I couldn't tip him so I wanted to leave this post. Thanks bro, awesome cut! You go to Bs, I highly recommend Angel! read more

The worst customer service ever, the worst part is I guess the owner was the one who serviced us. So unprofessional.

This place is great.. my husband and son come here and they always have a great experience. Barbara always makes them feel comfortable.. PLUS she trims my daughter's hair and it's grows back so fast. Highly recommended. We will always come here.. read more

My son does not like getting a hair cut, but he argues less if I bring him here. Been coming here for a year or so and my son always gets his hair cut with Mike. As he's getting a hair cut, I can hear them talk about school and sports and my sone forgets he's getting a hair cut!! Mike does a great job and we will keep coming back here!! read more

Barbara by far one of the best barbers around! veteran in the Barber game!! thank you sooo much!!

Barbara is the best! I ONLY let her cut my hair. She LISTENS to me and actually cuts my hair exactly how I want it. She double-checks with me between each step to make sure with me that what she is about to do is how I want it done. Ask for her! read more

Uriel is the best barber in this shop and the best barber I've ever had. This guy deserves a raise!! He is a master at his craft. He always gets my mid fade comb over on point and never makes any mistakes. read more

Uriel is probably one of thee best barbers I've had. I've know the owner for over 20 years. This is a great place to get a haircut and not get gouged while doing so. Everyone there is great and I highly recommend this business. I've been a loyal customer for many years. These are the only people that I allow to cut my hair. read more

Great place for a haircut. This isn't the loud and boistrous (and sometimes vulgar) places you find in the surrounding areas; this is a place I can bring my family to, and that counts for quite a bit. I've known Barbara for about 10 years. I used to go to a barbershop in South Gate where she was working at the time. Of all the barbers, she was the most proffessional and polite. She understood the client and his/her needs. I couldn't imagine a better person to open up her own place. I'd recommend B's to anyone wanting to look good for a great price! read more

Never in my life have I wished for Yelp to make negative points to give people as i do with this place. Horrible service from the older man that seems to be in a bad mood all day everyday. To compare with surrounding barbers really outdated so I would assume they want to give that family environment feel but on the contrary it's a bad experience all around. With the proper and the lounge barbershops near by its no wonder why they WERE my barbers when I wanted to go somewhere on a Friday that was empty with no line. Now I know why they are empty. I would go in there and I felt anxiety to see how bad my hair was gonna look like in the end. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Very friendly service. My haircuts always look great !! I highly recommend you check them out. Barbera is amazing !

I walked in ask for a custom taper.... WRONG! Gave me a basic taper.... Really? You people need to listen to your customers..... And it's too much for a haircut $17....look somewhere guys.... They can't cut.... read more

I trust my hair to no one else but B's Barbershop! Ive been going there for 4 years and always walk out a happy customer. Clean establishment, professional barbers and awesome service. If you need a cut, look no place else! read more

I like this barbershop because it doesnt have any gimmicks. I have bounced around many barbershops around Downey and I like this one the most. It doesn't have loud music like one that I had gone to before. It doesn't seem snobby like others. They have enough barbers working that you don't spend an eternity waiting for your cut. Each barber has their style but they are versatile. So if my barber isn't in I can sit down with the next and they will understand what I want. They are friendly and their shop is always clean. Their hours are also convenient. If you need more convincing you just drop by. read more

I like Barbra and Uriel and the guy that has his station towards the back door, they all three are great

I like that this place is usually not very full when I come in. But I had one of the barbers cut my hair last time u was here and he completely f*!!* up my hair, I had to get the other barber to "fix" it. I have been going to this barbershop since it first opened and I have had nothing but good things to say. It's been 7 years and I have not one complaint. Barbara is by far the best barber I have ever had. She listens to how I want my hair to look. Over the years I have asked for several different styles and she's nailed each and every one. I am glad to see that business there is booming. The prices are great and you're in and out in no time. I recommend anyone male to go there. I'm a loyal customer and will not let anyone but Barbara cut my hair. From observing while waiting to get my hair cut, the whole staff does an outstanding job. Their technique is great. I have yet to see anyone leave unsatisfied. read more
