I very rarely leave reviews for anything online, but use them almost everyday, is that bad? Lol. Anyway, I had to leave a review for quite possibly the best customer service experience I've ever had. Backstory: I proposed to my then-fiance, now-wife back in April of 2013 and through the course of wedding preparations, decided that I wanted to have a tuxedo made fully bespoke. (I also needed to purchase a few business suits) Years of football and weightlifting had left me with a body that is incompatible with 95% of off-the-rack business and formal clothing. So, I began sampling custom clothiers all around the DC area, and my findings generally lacked the 'Experience' I was looking for. Most tailor shops were impersonal, unreasonably priced, or both. Enter Bryn: He's extremely personable, knowledgeable, accommodating, and took his time to get to know me. The best way to sum it up is that I felt like I was talking to a friend who was doing me a favor as opposed to a business owner selling me a product. During my first appointment in November 2013 at his shop, we discussed his offerings (virtually limitless), my personal style, and then all the necessary measurements were taken. Then I threw him a curveball: I was in the process of cutting bodyfat and informed him that I'd be significantly smaller by the wedding date (March 8, 2014). No sweat, he proposed several fittings over the course of the next few months and would tailor the suit to match the body composition changes. Over the course of those months I had an initial fitting, as well as two subsequent fittings, over which time I lost size in the waist/legs and gained in the back/arms. The tux and suits fit perfectly in each stage, which I thought was amazing. Fast forward to 3 weeks before my wedding, I realized I needed a new tuxedo shirt. I called Bryn, reluctantly because it was so last minute, and asked if he could possibly get one made for me in such a short time frame. Again, no problem, I received the shirt one week before my wedding, and of course it fit perfectly. This consistent level of service and quality of clothing is why I'll be calling on Bryn to provide all of my future custom clothing needs. He's top notch. read more

I've been shopping at Bryn Keith custom clothing for several years now and I have almost upgraded my entire business attire to custom. I started out replacing my shirts and have slowly started replacing pants, blazers and recently order a few vests. I was quite impressed with the number and variety of fabrics as well as the customizable options from pocket location/type to shirt cuffs to hidden shirt buttons (my favorite). It definitely takes time to figure out what you really want, but that's the beauty of custom. Really, the only word to describe both the customer experience and the quality of the clothes you get at Bryn Keith is simply "Wow." I was completely new to the idea of getting custom-fitted clothes, so when I saw Bryn (pronounced "Bryan", for those that are curious) was offering a Groupon, I decided to treat myself to a nice suit and some shirts. I thought that getting a custom suit meant walking into a store, saying "Black suit, blue shirt, please", and getting a few measurements. Bryn proved in the best possible way that I could not have been more wrong. Bryn himself greeted me into his store with a warm welcome and a hearty handshake - He sees customers by appointment, so I was the only one in the store; I had his complete attention and service, and he was more than happy to answer my questions, help me choose fabrics and styles, and he overall made me feel like not only was my suit going to be one of a kind, but that the experience from his store is, too. After handing me a spectacular array of fabrics and styles for both suits and shirts, he gave me the chance to mark which ones I was immediately interested in, which ones I would be interested in for later, and which I didn't like. He logged all the "future" ones down individually, so that I could just call him up to order one of the ones I liked. The sheer amount of options for customization of both shirts and suits was something I never knew possible - Bryn guides you through choices of monograms, collar styles, cuff styles, shirt cuts, suit cuts, suit trim colors - if it touches your skin, Bryn will make it perfect and to your exact specifications. With my styles and complete measurements recorded, I was told my suit would be available in about a month or so. About a month later, I was called and requested a convenient time for another appointment to try on my suit. I returned and got the same warm welcome and feeling of customer appreciation that I did the month before. I tried on my suit, and as I said before, the only word I could say was "Wow." It fit absolutely perfectly, was stylish as all hell, and it made me realize why some people say that there is nothing better on Earth than a custom suit - and Bryn is simply the best at making them. To make an already wonderful experience better, a few weeks later, I received a personalized, hand-written card in the mail from Bryn, thanking me for my business. If that isn't outstanding customer service, I don't know what is. The bottom line is, if you're thinking of getting custom clothes, but don't know where to start, call Bryn, he's the best. If you think that custom clothes aren't for you, call Bryn anyway - you may just change your mind. read more

I have been going to Bryn Keith for about 4-5 years now and could not be happier with everything about the experience. I was hooked (literally) from time I first met Bryn and learned about the custom process. Being 6'10'' it is very difficult to find clothes that fit and are fashionable, so the custom experience is the way to go. I had some limited conversations regarding custom clothes before I met Bryn but always walked away feeling like I was talking to a used car salesman. The experience with Bryn was the exact opposite from all my previous experiences, as they truly do put customer service and quality above everything else. They take a personal care towards your experience and really treat you like a friend / family vs a customer. Needless to say, my entire wardrobe of dress clothes (suits, shirts, pants, coats, etc) has been replaced by Bryn Keith and I look forward to many more additions to the my wardrobe down the line. Looking back, I'm glad I did because it was a great experience from start to finish! One of the first things we discussed was prices and my budget. He was very up front with the pricing and there weren't any hidden fees or charges. This is what you are purchasing and this is what it costs. I really enjoyed that! I feel it could be easy to get carried away with additional costs with custom tailored clothing. I am such a pushover when it comes to people trying to sell me stuff. I usually feel bad and pay for something I didn't want. This was not the case with Bryn; the price at the consultation is the price I paid when I picked up my suit. I went in there with a very specific style, fabric, color, and vision in mind. Bryn listened to every idea I had and steered me in the right direction while looking through color and fabric samples. We went through the rest of the details, everything from the lining of the jacket to the monogram on the shirt sleeve. A few weeks later I went to try on and pick up my suit. I was pretty nervous. The color was spot on, the fit was amazing, and the fabric lay perfectly. The wedding went perfectly, and I received a ton of compliments on my suit! I signed up to Yelp so that I could leave this review - that's how knocked off my socks are! I'm a young-ish professional lady trying to covey that I'm ready for more responsibility without trying to look older than I am (Jones New York - blech!) or like a wanna-be man. Add to that a curvy figure that has led to frustration and tears with tailors in the past. I saw the fantastic reviews for Bryn which - unfortunately - were all from men. Skeptical I set up a meeting during which I gave him the third degree (do you really know what you are doing for women? Are you sure? Can you prove it? You'd better not make my butt look fat....). Bryn has daughters and sisters and did a great job of handling my crazy :-). My first suit turned out amazing! A co-worker told me it makes me look 10 pounds lighter and $25k per year richer. Custom suits are much more expensive than off-the-rack, but I see this as an investment that will pay off. I have been coming to Bryn Keith for 3 years now and realized I had never written a review. I have been truly amazed at the quality, care, and attention to detail. I have had tuxedos, suits, and shirts made and each time they are absolutely amazing. The difference distinguishes me from suits bought at normal retail stores. The moment you step through the store, you feel like you are hanging with a old friend that knows your style better than you do. I wore a tux he made for my wedding and I had more compliments about the tux than I have ever heard for other grooms. If you go to his shop, I encourage you to let him be a designer and not just a clothier. I recently finished my first shopping experience there and could not have been more pleased with the experience. I never thought shopping for clothes could be an enjoyable experience but Bryn Johnson (the owner) proved me wrong. For the past year, I've wanted a tailored made suit. My experience with tailor made clothing has been limited to shirts from a tailor I met that comes to the United States from Hong Kong twice a year. But, I had never had purchased a tailor made suit and I had been considering it for the past year because buying an off the rack suit that needed extensive tailoring didn't make sense. Enter Groupon which made it possible at the perfect price point where I could buy a tailored made suit. The experience at Bryan Keith was a very enjoyable one. He only sees customers by appointment which makes it great because you don't feel rushed. When I arrived, Bryan was assisting another customer, but he acknowledged me and offered me a seat while he finished with the prior customer. The first thing he asked was if I was replacing a particular suit in the closet. I told him "no", it was more of rebuilding my suit wardrobe. He also asked if the suit was for the office or for an evening out. I explained to him I was looking for something that could transition from the office to after dinner cocktails and still look stylish. Bryan, proceeded to pull out several fabric swatch books and I proceeded to look through them. There was a huge selection to choose from and the fabrics were off the highest quality. I picked out the fabric I wanted for my suit, and my two shirts and Bryan wrote the selections down. He also noted selections for my "wish list" items at a future date. After my fabric selections were made, Bryan took my size measurements. Bryan reviewed all the particulars with regard to fit and style such has collar type, pockets/no pockets, lapel type, etc. I entertained his advice with some items and he was more than happy to assist me with recommendations. Once I decided on everything, Bryan informed me of my delivery date which was 4 to 6 weeks and thanked me for coming in. Overall, the experience was very pleasant and I would recommend Bryan Keith to anyone thinking of purchasing custom made clothing.
