Everything worked, and everything was clean. The ambiance is "rustic", which could also be called "dated". The light fixtures were unshielded and and bothersome, but rustic. Nothing fancy. I booked this room online. The confirmation came from Agoda, which I believe is related to Booking.com. I paid for the 2-night stay ahead of time. When I checked in, I was told there was still a "resort fee" to be paid, $15 per night. I said I already paid for the stay, and it included all taxes and fees. They said no, this is a fee you are charged when you check in. I said there was no mention of this. They said it would have been in the email confirmation, and it would have come from Expedia. I showed her my confirmation, with no mention of an additional charge and no mention of Expedia. They insisted I received another confirmation. I asked to see what as supposedly sent and they said it came from Expedia and they didn't have a copy. I asked them to contact Expedia and ask for them to send it again and they said they had no way of doing that. I had no choice but to pay since I had booked far in advance with a less expensive rate. I really felt taken advantage of. The room was old, dated and the TV didn't work. Will never stay here again. read more

People were nice enough. But the bed sags, the pillows are hard. It's an old, old place, but the room I was in was clean and recently painted. I had to unplug the tv to get the extension cord over to the bed. The location is great. I did not try the restaurant. The 'pool' area was truly laughable. The one star is because this hotel ended up being almost as much as the chain hotels nearby Probably deserves two stars for housing us from the heat overnight. What is really refreshing about this hotel is its comfort with itself . It's old, doesn't look like it's social media photos , is not into plastic surgery and doesn't give a shit what you think about it The wall by the TV had been painted but someone was too tired to move the dresser out to finish so they clocked out (yes I saw one of those old clock- out machines that I used in my first job in a room by the office). It was so anti-Silicon Valley attitude, that's where I live, that I had to appreciate it. I did not appreciate however the bathroom as much. You can see the shower curtain below (tacky!) and every time you got off of the toilet, it would teeter and bang While this is good for letting the next person know you're finished it did tend to make me feel as if I should be squatting, something I prefer to reserve for public toilets outside of my hotel room The pool didn't appear to be anywhere near usable, but when we arrived, I saw someone hosing it down, which I think is very optimistic! Certainly is not a resort! The pool was closed and there were no other amenities to qualify this as a resort. It's just an OLD motel, that's it... The shower was "clean" as long as you didn't look too closely! Bedding and everything else was clean! The place just needed an ACTUAL deep clean: you could tell (thick dust settled on top of the headboard, chunky mildew in every crevasse of the shower door, stains on furniture, I could go on) ... The included breakfast was what you'd expect (typical hotel breakfast, but worse), and the building that they do the breakfast in is super old and run down! Don't forget about that $15 per day fee that you must pay upon check in! No clue where that money goes but, it's definitely not going to maintenance or bettering their business... Poor service--waited an hour at front desk. Booked two rooms and got rooms separated from each other (my and my sons). Terrible food at free breakfast--literally inedible. Swimming pool closed and they lied about it being open the next day. I called health department, who'd padlocked the pool gate and put up a sign, and they let me know the pool was closed for being unsanitary. Noisy rooms due to thin walls. We got a 2 room cabin for 2 nights. Most of the area is sold out for the eclipse and just being a popular time of the shoulder season. The cabin is dated but very clean. The heater works. Parking is ample. The water is clean and the shower heats up fast. WIFI works but is a bit weak. They charge a $12 per day resort fee, which is a scam to save some % on the booking site fees. Maybe that covers the "free" breakfast. read more

This is not what I think of when I think of a "resort". It's old, but clean. Their website is really well done, and boasts two restaurants onsite. One is a Subway, the other is lousy. Our room is on the second floor and with every step, the floor makes a loud squeaking noise. No chance of quietly going to the bathroom at night without waking others. It's not a RESORT; it's the worst place we've been in over a decade. Plus they charge $14.99 PER DAY as a resort fee - this is to keep their online price low - it's a scam!!!! AVOID. We knew something was wrong when they charged a $14.99 daily resort fee (which hotels.com did NOT add to the total price). If this place is a resort, my 60-year-old, 5'6" dad-bod makes me an NBA Basketball Player! The comparison is valid--look at the pics! This place is a dump! AVOID! The pool is the smallest we've seen. There is no jacuzzi, no common room, no ice machine, no movies to borrow, no BBQs, or any outside amenities other than a rickey, an old, dangerous metal swing. Bryce Canyon Resort is the antithesis of a resort! AVOID! The buildings are in terrible disrepair and have not been stained/painted in decades (centuries?). The cabin was old and dirty, with smudges on everything. There is no mural as seen in the photos - just nasty, smudged, horrible-colored paint. They also do not have enough outlets (either use the lights by your bed or lose the lights to charge your phone. The view from the cabin showcases the dilapidated back of the restaurant, with views on the other side of old cars, abandoned trailers, and RVs covered with weeds. AVOID! The bathroom--I expect showers in prisons are better. The caulking was disgusting, there was no hot water (even though the water heater was on site), it was dark and dirty, and the tub did not drain. AVOID! The beds were very uncomfortable, and the AC/Heater screeched and tried to start all night--it would take 2-3 attempts before it sputtered to a start. The kitchen area had nothing--no towels, no salt or pepper, nothing. It's a fridge and microwave; you'd never cook on the stove. AVOID! Shockingly, the best part was the breakfast. Powdered eggs, whitebread, a thin slice of ham in water, cereal, and bananas. Yes, this was the BEST part of this RESORT. Remember, this slum charges a$14.99 A DAY resort fee. This is how they keep the cost artificially LOW on hotels.com, vs. reputable companies listing all their fees in the final price. AVOID! Speaking of the restaurant, we considered eating there but decided not to. It was very old, the menu averaged in the upper $20's, and they did not have simple food like hamburgers, wings, hot dogs, etc. If I pay $50 for a steak, I'll go to a place I don't expect to get food poisoning from. AVOID! To be blunt, this place must be shut down and renovated from the ground up. The bones appear solid with potential. Calling a dump a resort and charging $14.99 is insulting and does not make a dump a resort. AVOID! I'd rather sleep in a tent than stay at this dump. Whatever you do, stay someplace else! Hoping my review will help someone else avoid a bad experience here while on vacation...this place has no hot water!! My wife & I booked a room here to spend the night after 2 days/night hiking/camping in Bryce Canyon. The 1 thing we were looking forward to was a shower - plan & simple. This resort did NOT have hot water! When I asked at the front desk they acted like I was being difficult by simply asking why we had no hot water. They eventually claimed they turn the hot water heater off and, despite us having a reservation for 4 days, they didn't turn it on. They refused to give us any partial credit for the inconvenience and eventually suggested we should just leave the property if we were that concerned about hot water. I've never experienced a worse experience at a hotel and would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

We wished we would have booked a pet friendly hotel In the city and drove in to Bryce the next morning rather than picked this location. Well...it's one of the very few limited Pet Friendly accommodations in Bryce Canyon so we didn't expect much, However, a clean room would be great. Dirtiest toilet ever. I really don't even want to talk about it but I must. A pic will help (mind you this is after I sprayed my 365 disinfectant on it and wiped the seat down) and still. It was a dirty situation to be in. The toilet maintenance is not top priority here. No water bottles were provided with our coffee. When my husband called the front, he said we could use tap and call him in the morning because we checked in late (almost didnt make it) so ok...that's fine. No water bottles. Fortunately I had my own. Coffee maker was dusty and dirty but at that point, I was not surprised. Then pull the coverlet from the bed and BAM there's a nasty stain!!! Good thing, we had a double queen so we slept on the other "cleaner" bed but wow...I was pretty taken back. Slept with my hoodie on and kind of nervous about using their sheets. Hubby didn't use their blankets or anything. We were too tired to complain and the place was full. At this point, it is what it is. Oh and the towels are yellow! Why oh why? You cannot bleach yellow! That's why most hotels and lodges have white towels, so that you know it is clean. There were some stains on some of the towels and of course it showed because you can't bleach Yellow! But wow...I just wish I'd have brought my own towels. And my own toilet and my own bed! Okay, so this sure sounds like a negative star review. The reason I am giving it one star is because it's better than camping & allows pets for $20/dog Oh they offer complimentary breakfast but let me just end my review. Based on our stay in March, I wouldn't call it a resort but our stay was comfortable and we did not encounter any problems. The rooms are updated. Luckily we didn't need a fridge as the room was not equipped with one. I prepaid and booked via 3rd party site so there was a resort fee that was collected at check-in which I was aware of. Was there during their winter season so the restaurant was closed but they did provide breakfast which I regret leaving too early in the morning to try. The room we had did come with a fireplace, but it hadn't been cleaned and old burnt logs weren't removed. The soap provided was so thin it broke in half the first time used in the shower. The exterior and setting lack any charm. Next clue...no microwave in the room...why not? Is the wiring too ancient to safely support a microwave? The tub caulking was mildewed and the floor corners by the tub were filthy. The roof overhang is only about 5'8", so anyone taller than that (like my husband) risks a concussion going into the room. The beds are clean and comfortable, and I've been trained how to look for bedbugs and see no sign of 'em. So I think it's fine there. I don't mind if a place needs upkeep or is dated...IF THE PRICE AND THE PIX ON THE INTERNET REFLECT THAT. But this place is grifting people. They slapped some paint on the walls and put up scenic murals and called it good. It's certainly not a Marriott or Hilton, but in all honesty, it wasn't bad either. We got a cottage, so we had two queens in a large bedroom, and we had a smaller kitchen area with a futon that folded out into a bed, so it slept 5 of us comfortably. There were nice comforters, which was a suprirse, and everything was clean and nice. There was a mini fridge and a two burner hot-plate, along with dishes, microwave, sink, etc. Also, several outlets have been updated to support USB. Location was a mile or so away from Bryce Canyon, so that was nice. Would be nicer if there was a bit more landscaping with some pavement rather than dirt roads, but for the price, it was everything we were expeting. Unfortunatly, with Covid19, the pool was closed, but we drove by it, and it was pretty small, and looks like they could use a new, updated pool. Staff were super friendly and recommended we go see Mossy Cave/Waterfall which wasn't on my list. Glad we went as that was really cool as well. Overall, A-OK. read more

Ok, so they out and out lie in their hotel description. The pool clearly hasn't been filled in a decade yet they list a pool as an amenity and include photos of the pool. Additionally there was no coffee in the lobby, another published amenity. The picnic area was a long plastic table. The two restaurants are one Subway and one restaurant with a seriously limited unappetizing menu. They charge a small resort fee which, when asked, is for breakfast and WiFi. Those are not what us call resort amenities On the plus side, the rooms were clean and a reasonable size. Although something leaked a small amount onto the bathroom floor. Breakfast was better than expected with surprisingly decent coffee. The rooms were cheap and clean. That's what kept this to 2 stars. But the description and photos are nothing but bull crap. Everything you never wanted in a motel. Filthy shabby rooms. Bedspreads have holes, carpets have holes, the sink was coming off the wall. Smells like poverty and squalor. Indifferent staff to my concerns, two older folks sat in the lobby (maybe the managers) observing a young boy abusing a housekeeping manager laughing about it. The only nice person I met while staying there was "Susan", give that woman a Purple Heart for putting up with it. She seemed concerned but overwhelmed at the despairing conditions of her work environment and being harassed by a boy-child. Stains on the sheets, the toilet wasn't flushed, no hot water, and NO wi-fi. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, left one day early "No refund!" and it ruined my Bryce Canyon experience. Never stayed here before, so didn't know what I was getting myself into. I picked this place because my trip to Bryce was a last-minute decision and I didn't have many lodging options. I wish I had researched a little more. As soon as you walk in, you will smell something like an old ashtray + soggy&wet boots stink covered up by a cheap air freshener. The room is tiny. Everything you see in your room is outdated. Coverlet has stains. The carpet is dusty. The restroom is falling apart. I didn't even touch the towels. I couldn't stand the idea of laying on the bed full of stains and possibly fleas or even bed bugs. That's just how it looks. The lady at the check-in was nice but nice doesn't equal cleanness. Best feature is their close location to Bryce Canyon Park's visitor center entrance (12 mins with no traffic) while paying less than if you stayed right outside the park entrance. Of three motels we stayed at in the area, these beds were most comfortable. Nice mountain mural in our room and a view of natural beauty past the highway BUT one desk guy was unknowledgeable and there were no outlets near our beds to charge our phones!! The two other ladies were fine. We got the top floor as requested. Clean room but heard random creaky noises. A room fridge would have been nice. Sheets felt like sandpaper. There was a bright light just outside our window that remained on all night making our room almost as bright as day. No curtains, only blinds that did nothing to block the light. My husband hurt his arm trying to open the door. It needed to be jammed open and shut. The second door lock did not turn. The toilet was toddler size, and you had to hold the handle the whole time as it sloooowly flushed, exposing not one ring, but two! There is an AC unit and a space heater. No room temp control. They may try hard, but this is FAR from a resort. If you stay here, think motel at best. Dated, rundown, kinda clean but feels dirty. And it's not priced to reflect its deficits. Breakfast is included but go early because they run out. There was a fireplace in our room but chipped paint and dirt in and around it detracted from what ambiance they were trying to create. Drapes were so old they were cracked and light holes were visible through them. Place smelled of a combo of curry, mildew and age. Don't fall for any representations of transportation from airport or to Bryce Canyon. They don't have any reliable, consistent transport. Pretty sunset though. If you make it all the way to Bryce, don't stay here. Go on to Ruby's or Best Western, where there's transportation, good food, and a true resort experience for nominal more cost. We booked a double queen standard deluxe room for oct 18, 2023. We were issued what they call a bunk house room which was depressing and awful. When I complained that this was NOT the class of room we booked, we were told they were sold out of that type room and had only one king room left for TWICE the amount what we already paid. NOT happy, but had no choice but to take it as it was evening. Beware of the pictures on the website. They are not realistic. There was an additional "resort fee" of $13, which is an insulting joke as there are ZERO "resort " amenities: no hot tub, jacuzzi or weight room, a closed outdoor pool(even though it was 75 degrees outside), no lobby with coffee, no manicured grounds, and the wi-fi was on the blink. The breakfast was so awful that I threw out the eggs(powdered), potatoes and unrecognizable meat product(deli ham?)and the birds would not even eat it! The OJ machine wasn't working. The staff was not helpful and had an attitude about their "resort fee". They have cut corners virtually everywhere to save a few bucks and the result is a very sub par lodging experience. Just as all of the reviews state, this place is not even close enough to be called a resort. This was my first trip with my dog, and they charge $20 for the dog fee. My dog was so nervous in that room. It's obvious that they don't clean up after humans or pets. They charge for some kind of resort fee, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing it's for the nasty breakfast buffet. Luckily I went down to Tropic for coffee and breakfast. This place was packed with tourists. It's a great location, but until people avoid coming here they will stay in business. I felt perfectly safe, but this place is gross. This "resort" is likely one of the worst places we have EVER stayed!! First: We made reservations for 2 nights approximately 1 week prior to arrival. Our travel plans changed some and we only needed to stay one night. When we checked in, we were told the "resort" has a 3 week advanced cancellation notice. We just lost $185!!! Second: We were given Room 137 - "The Fireplace Room". (At nearly 100 degrees, that was not impressive.) The room was spacious, but very dated. The entry door was significantly worn and had to be slammed close to latch. Although the room was large, there were only 2 chairs...dining table chairs. The wall behind the bed had been "remodeled" with some type of wainscoting that completely concealed the electrical outlets (necessary for our breathing apparatuses). However, the bed was comfortable. The TV reception was ok, but the tv signal cut out at 45 second intervals, all evening. The bathroon was adequate, but it took approximately 3 minutes for hot water to reach the faucet. Third: For a $10 "Resort Fee", we were "given" breakfast buffet vouchers. When we arrived, the mother of one of the workers took our voucher and said "You can sit anywhere over there." Now the buffet: Fake scrambled eggs with standing water in the dish; Previously frozen, grease soaked hashbrowns; thick sliced ham (was good). We ate the ham and promptly left.
