We came on a Wednesday looking to relax and throw some discs. We have been to this course before and on any other day, it's an okay course. We walked up and were told that it was reverse. In our minds, we thought that meant start at hole 18, but no. They arbitrarily decided to to move the launch points from nice, concrete pads to uneven dirt patches. People are going to get hurt either throwing discs or getting caught in the crossfire of reverse day.

Wow, I had been to this park many times back in the day, but I had NO idea they had hiking trails,…read morecaves to explore, and even a disc golf course. The caves - not really caves, they're more like crevices to explore. They aren't more than 15 feet deep and the sun lights them up fairly well, so don't be 'escared (yes, I said 'escared). Getting to them can be tough if there is water in the normally dry creek bed. You'll have to traverse a VERY steep uphill trail to get to them. The cool thing about the trails here, is that you get a little bit of everything. Some paved trails, some smooth dirt trails with lots of berms and hills that are great fun for mountain bikers (but won't tear your expensive rig up). Look for these hills near hole 9 on the disc golf course (it's hidden in the woods). Take Side Trail A (creative name, right?) to get a good view of the creek when there's water in it, and take the Blue Angel Loop if you want to walk or ride on loose river rock. Signage isn't too bad, but I do recommend printing a map before you go. https://www.universalcitytexas.com/DocumentCenter/View/2544/UniversalCity_TrailMap_11x17?bidId= The strangest thing is, this park measures the trails in feet instead of miles - what, what??? I've never seen trails measured in feet. If you hit all of the trails, you can get 6 to 7 miles in. You can park at Red Horse Park, Veterans Park, or at UC Municipal Park - they're all connected to the trails. I'm amazed at the diversity of the trail system in this park. And oh yeah, they have a covered basketball pavilion, baseball diamonds, LOTS of space to run around in and even fly kites. No power lines around, so your kite won't get hung up on a line.

One day I went out to use it and the lid would only open half way. It felt like it was binding. I called Jeff's Backyard to ask if there is something that I can do to adjust or fix it. The person who answered said he was the owner and that he doesn't sell the BGE any longer and knows nothing about them. He said I would have to call the Manufacturer. I was sold this BGE by them and for them to just direct me to BGE is very disappointing. I paid them the $2500 and is very disappointing this is all they could tell me. Then this person I spoke with said he is a new owner of two years and there is nothing he would do to help. He was very short and abrupt with me from the moment he answered the call. Please think twice before buying from this place. You would think that he would like to keep me as a customer and help in any way, but nothing. Poor Customer service. This experience was very disappointing.

Maybe it's because we are not from around here, but we have always had our tanks weighed and paid for what they put in. Maybe that's just how it's done here? I wouldn't call it cheap or excessive. It cost us $27 to fill a 30 gallon tank.

Nothing at all wrong with that, it's just not my demographic at all. There IS a pretty killer looking skateboard park on the corner - awesome but, again, not what I specifically am looking for in an outdoor entertainment venue. And a newly "opened" off-leash dog park (and those ARE a primary draw for me) - every time I've saddled up AdventureHound and headed over to check out the DP, though, it's been either not yet permanently open; or big-picture open but temporarily closed for whatever reason; or open but 100% deserted of pups...boooooo! We recently, however, seized the opportunity to explore what lies beyond the play structure, just down a short path and behind a stand of trees, and... it. is. glorious. SO well-maintained and kept! Open and visible enough that I don't feel vulnerable or unsafe walking as a solo lady. (SO superimportant and impactful these days!) There's a beautifully paved, pretty much flat, 1-mile sidewalky loop that encircles a .... GASP... beautiful disc golf course! YAY! (The course - 9 holes, iirc - is almost completely open, with no obstruction/trees/etc between the pad and the basket... *perfect* for noobs, or when you're just looking to hone your skills, or just have fun and chuck some discs while drinking some beers with no concern for Double Black Diamond course status) Parking is pretty limited. The tiny little lot closest to the play structure only has one joint entrance/exit that makes it a pain to get out again if you pull in a realize there are no available spots. Maybe parking at the library across the street is allowable?? Worth checking on... Sweet gem of a neighborhood park! We'll be back, often. (hmm...like right now? it's a beautiful day....)
